I really don't know what's going on in the series, because I can't get the mangas very easily, but I always thought it would be a serious and interesting twist if Ricardo killed...uh...whats his name...the silly but incredibly powerful middleweight (the guy who saved Ippo in the first episode), and Ippo has to train up to that weight level to fight Ricardo and avenge his friend's death.
