When their debut album was released on RCA in 1987, give or take a year or so, Country radio wasn't sure what to do with them. It was a time of getting back to tradional sounds with the emergence of Randy Travis, Dwight Youkum and Hiway 101. I've always thought that kept them back a bit. You know, too pop sounding. Well, I was there. As one of the nations top country DJs and Music Directors, we played the shit out of Bailee and the Boys and Randy, Dwight, 101. Great talents, great times!

What is it about "modern" country music... that just can't endure real quality. Kathie and crew are just about perfection in harmonies, instrumentation, arrangements, and production. What a class act! Wish they could do some more good stuff.
Thats just it lol My husband is a Radio DJ and just interviewed them a few weeks ago ........Their music is still being played along with their newer stuff - They also still preform along with their daughter - Thats what I was basing my facts on lol ; ) Have a great day .....
@OZARKCOTTONTOP I dont know i think they were fairly short lived because you dont hear them on radio anymore and havent heard em since teh late 90s. Anyway they were great when they were out
what a great group/ I was fortunate to work with them at the the Missouri state fair in 1988. They did a cover of John David Southers "Faithless Love" that was incerdible. Kathie, Mike , Alan, and Vince....hope you are all well and still making music. Those were 3 great days!!! One of the "First and Main" guys.
Beautifully done. BUT ... my favorite song in country was done by them....with the most beautifully sad lyrics: TREAT ME LIKE A STRANGER For anyone who has been there.... WOW! I'd give anything to get a karaoke version of it, as I'm a singing geek here, and it's a great song. The lyrics really hit you.
My favorite group of all time. The most underated group ever. So sad to see them get beat out by the Judds every awards show. LOL. Thanks for posting. Nice to know there are other Bailles out there.
Baillie and the Boys were backing vocals in several Dan Seals records. i heard that beautiful song when i lived in Annandale Va. U.S.A. Thanks a lot for the memories.
Hey Michael and Kathy!!! I was looking up Alyssa to see how she was doing and and ended up here. Hope all is well with you. Rand G. (now back in Chicago).
Now I remember this group and just like little44 says; I remember listening to these guys & gals while trucking down the NYS Thruway many years ago. Thanks for posting and God Bless, 5*****s!
this song reminds my of my childhood hanging out with the greatest person my aunt... thanks for putting up the video i forgot all about this sing and group
She has a fantastic voice, where the hell is she? Being controld by her husband no doubt. Never let a man come between what your dreams are, thaey can't tAKe it
And Larry: she IS gorgeous!! Not many videos of these folks on YouTube but their new CD's are much better than most of what you will hear on country radio these days. Do yourself a listening pleasure and check out either "VIscaya" or "The Road That Led Me To You". 'The Road. . . .is an acoustic album of mostly new stuff. It is EXCELLENT!!
lovely voice. i have forgotten how much i loved the 80s country music. suzy bogguss, mary chapin-carpenter, many others. they don't make 'em like they used to.
They're still around! Plus Kathie released a solo cd last year - check out her myspace page. Kathie is still married to the "guitar player" - Michael Bonagura - check out his page, too. While you're at it, check out their daughter's videos on Youtube - Alyssa Bonagura.
Great group...They wanted to be a normal family, so they made their money and said "adios" to the music business. Bailey was married to the guitar player.
love this song and have been looking for this for a long time!!! Too bad this band is not together anymore. Loved the album, "Turn The Tide" also. Have it on tape somewhere would love to have it on CD though it was the best album they made!!! Thanks for posting and for posting a rare find. Thanks a bunch.
