Please tell me how the parents rejected them. I have two babies, they are out of the nest, one came out without feathers in his stomach. The parents keep hitting him and taking feathers out. I feel bad for the little one but I am afraid parents will kill him for being a little ugly. I don't want to happen but if I take the bird out I do not how to feed him. Please answers thanks

well, i've about 10 or 11 egg, just 2 of them hatched today, I found the 3 first eggs at 25th march, & the last was laid yesterday....I've only 1 pair & I don't know, do u think I might get my self prepared to feed some when they hatch, how I would know that some of my coming babies are rejected by their parents????
Oh man you held them when they were babies? Do they let you touch them now? I never did that with my first clutch cuz i read they will imprint you as a mother and will get obsessed with you and wont like when your away
@nonskids Actually, the males will begin practicing their singing before they take on adult coloration. If you get one making weird gurbling sounds, it's probably a male learning how to sing.
I remove parrots as eggs and incubate, I have never removed finch eggs, all the tame ones I have raised have been rejected from the parents and rescued from the bottom of the cage. but to make less work try removing them as soon as feathers begin to grow
Did any of them turn out to be boys? ive got babies in my aviry and they are showing their boy markings. 5 are out of the nest and two of them are boys. one boy is a fawn and the other is a normal colour.
lol they are funny, both think that the other one can give them food so they touch each other's peeks with their own peek. oh sry you probably want nice comments:cute zebra finches
aww, they're adorable! how old are they in this video? my pair of finches just had 5 eggs, and they hatched approximately a week and a half ago. I'm not sure if I should hand raise them too, because the parents seem exhausted right now.
they are soo cute and little! :)

My baby zebra fiches looked like all females and then they began to grow the orange feathers and the male coloring, after about two weeks.

Are zebra finches afraid of the color red?
soupie39 3 years ago
I have to say that, that question is a first. My guess is "no", In fact some of the seed I feed them is red and they tend to pick those out first.

so how do u keep them warm?
shadowchoasdragon101 3 years ago
when the age shown and fully feathered there is no need, before feathering I keep them in a brooder.

you could but it's alot of work.
nonskids 3 years ago
no, I am hand feeding and raising them. when they were younger they stayed in a brooder to keep them warm.
nonskids 3 years ago
do you put them back in the nest at night. so the mom can warm them and feed them in the day time>>>
