That may be so, but can you tweak it so the effect is slowed down like how it's done in this video?

@HuATTK It is native supported by the OS, but you cannot tweak any settings like here. It just slows down almost every animation on the GUI.
its not slow, on the desktop settings you can adjust it to a speed you want...

Well first of all KDE 4.2 is beta and not ready to be used as a main desktop environment. It should be used only for testing. The settings can be changed as well, to increase or decrease the time line of the fading effects.
