  • The dual mode has value. F3DM is an impressive machine. It's style will be popular in the US and Europe. The price will be competitive with the Nissan Leaf

  • OK, Chinese r just geting there. The design of CH cares is stalled from the big brands. cant do anything about this. it will take time till U guys make Ur own. U also miss creative mind:-) The quality is shit. after 6 months all plastic parts fall apart. But take Ur time of copying and stilling ideas. that's not ok but that's the way. Japanese started the same way.

  • Cool toyota style with a prius hybrid like logo and a VW like front with a cellphone pin code like naming...WTF?

    Anyway, cheap is everything

  • nice!!

  • yes, fuck byd 's boss.i want to buy byd stock.but these asshole aren't sold it to me

  • How much will it cost to do maintenance, how is the aftermarket? 100 kilometers is not very impressive. electric power is produced largely buy burning coals in china, is it really more energy efficient?

  • I have the same worry. If they sell the car here in the US, which I heard they would, then it's the same problem. 75% of electricity in the US is generated by coal burning plants. I need to look up if the emissions eliminated from gasoline more than offset the goal burned to power this electric car.

  • the overall efficiency(inlcuding losses in the power plant) of an electric car is twice the one of a car with an internal combustion engine.

  • people often forget that refinery and an aging also contributes to a lower efficiency of an ice as well that the efficiency of coal plants constantly rising.

  • I agree, it should be a hatchback like the Mazda 3.

A plug-in hybrid that looks as good as the Mazda 3...I would buy in a flash!

  • History of Automotive Industry: first the Americans and Europeans, then the Japanese, then the Koreans, and now the Indians and the Chinese. They are spewing lots of CO2 with coal plants but hopefully can start to make up a bit of the damage by being the first to mass produce plug in hybrids. This is an exciting time! ...too bad BYD doesn´t sell stocks in US/European stock markets...

  • Pretty funny, but america and europe has done alot more bad things for the environment than china ever did. Im from europe.. But i think we western people have to big ego.

China is still in development. And you probably have lots of products out of china. So YOU made that C02 go in the air. Dont remember that!

  • All of their car models will be marketed as hv and the HEV also station wagon

  • Would be *MUCH* better if it were a station wagon. Sedans are so inefficient, because you can't carry enough luggage and things like boxes, or a child stroller and other kid stuff.

If any Chinese car maker reads this - THINK! Station wagons *ARE* better. Also look at the European market. And forget how the US market makes the *seem* that people want sedans.

The US car makers were playing games, and they're failing.

We need station wagons! *NOT* sedans!

  • I agree with you.

I think current batteries are not powerful enough for station wagons. We have to wait, and this will not be long.

  • That makes no sense.

A station wagon weighs about the same as a sedan. There isn't much more material needed to make a station wagon. Think about it, a sedan actually means you have a giant dent pushing the trunk down. Not having that "dent" means you have a continuous box - a station wagon.

Car industry purposely wants us to drive sedans, so that people looking for more utility will end up buying more expensive suvs and vans.

    It will no longer work.

  • Sorry, I thought a station wagon was a kind of huge vehicle. I should improve my poor English first.

  • they base on chinese market. of course they care about chinese market first. us market just a test..look at the sedans around the chinese streets. most consumers just own their first car in china. sedan makes these ignorant consumers feel good. du dont know the chinese market. these chinese companies are not stupid, they target the low level market, and they know how much they behind the japan/euro manufacturers even korean

  • How many percent of Chinese can afford a car? Surely, all those migrant workers can't afford one. And all the ones living in the country?

Korea's Kia is getting pretty good these days. Smarter designs, solid feel. They also have the Rondo.

I'd like to see the Chinese compete with that.

  • @a1mint lol Kias and hyundai are copyin car design on massive scale. You can really tell their cars resemble mostly Honda, Toyota and Euro cars

  • @spike378 Cars is pretty standard stuff these days. It's not so much a matter of copying, but more like making cars from blue prints.

Sure there are certain details and toys and features companies copy from each other, but the main part that makes up the car is more like loading a common car-file-document into something Autocad, and then just adding curves to shape the car.

  • @a1mint yes thats true but cars do have their originality from their first model and build upon it but Kias and Hyundai original designs based on other cars and then changing it a lil bit like you said

  • @spike378 As do all the other manufacturers. GM gains knowledge by dissecting Hondas, and even now Hondas are gaining knowledge by picking appart GM's new engines (which even surprises me).

There is no ultimate leader any more.
