I'm always disappointed when a production mimics the Broadway version identically, right down to the costume and performances. Especially with a show like this, there is so much room for interpretation and artistic liberty.

It's really hard to live up to Bernadette Peters, but this chick did okay. I'm just mad I can't find Bernadette's version!!!

It's hard to be ok with anyone other than Bernadette Peters playing the witch. I'm "married" to that performance. Folks have come close, but it's just not the same. We did it in High school. I was the voice of the Giant, and the Stepmother. So much fun! Makes you appreciate how hard this musical is to perform! :)
