I see drug use as a right. If you can tell me what I can and can't do to my body then I can tell you what you can and can't do to your own body. It's fucking ridiculous that I need to spend $150 to go get a permission slip from a doctor so I can get a couple of Vicodin or cough syrup with codeine when I'm sick.

What needs to happen in North America is what happened in Portugal. They allow uses to have drugs and offer them treatment instead of imprisonment. This frees up resources so that the government can actually go after the real criminals, the ones selling the drugs. Drug addiction needs to be seen as a mental illness and not a crime.

A power point for me in this one was. Being afraid to call 911 for fear of prosecution. Imagine this scenario. Your own child is now in college and even though they are your child and would never do anything that would disrespect you or themselves for that matter just happen to get slipped an overdose amount of oh lets say heroin just for fun eh. They die because the people around them all scatter instead of calling 911. How many times has this happened? usually with alcohol being the DRUG!
