Ah, this is when I fell for him. I'd just turned sixteen. His talent was so impressive for someone so young. I first saw this late '95 and I haven't looked back. Still one of my all time favorite shows. Brilliant writing, directing and acting.- Its a shame there wasn't a sequel. So many querries of the characters futures unanswered

It was an amazing drama and cambell bean was one of the most fascinating characters, well actually the whole thing was filled with amazing characters and superb acting, the program was hardly ever sentimental.

It also featured a guest appearance from Spike Milligan.

The overall story was ingenious with an amazing plot twist at the end.

If I remember correctly it was 6+60min episodes was broadcast on BBC2 winter 1994

I hope evry1 goes to bbc homepage to post a request of Repeat/Dvd release.

actually its not the same thing, being manic or a manic depressive is a symptom of several illnesses. Bi-polar is an illness for which you have to exhibit several symptoms one or more from each of the three categories one of which is being manic. looks like a fab show, I wish I could get hold of this on DVD.

Love this. Don't know why people find it hard to understand the actors - Scottish accents are far more easier for me personally (an American) to understand than most English accents. Not to mention a Scot's accent is more pleasing to the ear - much more musical quality to it. Perhaps it helps that I'm a musician, eh? LOL
