I read the book, and when I went to watch the movie and Carlisle came on screen I was like "HOLY SHIZNIT! Peter is a perfect cast for Carlisle. He has that authoritative presence. You'd have to have that to herd all the Cullens around. The second I saw him, I said, "Now that's a Vampire!".

He really looks almost too made up, needs to look a bit more inconspicuous for a family trying to fit in. However, according to the writings, the older vampires look more pail, more classic vampire-ish. I hope to see him in more interviews as well, echos of fan screaming, I'm sure will continue.
