  • 5:02 wow! thats all

  • only in ny

  • I used to play all the time,on 149st in queens

  • is handball hard

  • handball look so hard

  • is this in cropsey?

  • Here in El Paso Texas theres only 3 wall handball courts and theyre not located in public parks not that ive seen anyway theyre only located in highschools

  • Different players play with different rules. There are the ones that try and call overs on anything they can. and there are the honest players that know if they were able to make the wall or even hit the ball. also the honest ones would make an effort to try and hit it. and if they make it we play on it. and so on and so forth. Oh and we move out of the way with no overs called.

  • 3:22 nice roller

  • I never heard of holding in handball

  • @theangrytrolls that just means it a block

  • Our rules are slightly different here in cali.

  • @kamikaze4O8 really? how?

  • @kamikaze4O8 how. iwould like to know actually

  • @PLKx2k9 - You don't get a point by getting the other team down while serving. That makes no sense. Getting a team "down" and scoring are 2 separate things. You can only score when you are serving. You score when the serving team (only) hits a "legal" ball and the receiving team cannot return it to the wall before it bounces twice or they hit the ball out of bounds either on the wall or when it hits the floor. "out of bounds means on the outside of the outer edge of the line"

  • Bueno muy bueno

  • I'm from the BAY AREA and I'm used to one wall one ball and two players. All y'all need to go there to see how the big boys do it you feel me

  • so this is somehow 'squash' without a racket?

  • Looks like a ghetto racquetball o_0

  • i think they are the squash player wh0 l0st their racquet~

  • Who really cares where ur from if ur ood at handball ur good people over here n cali r good too and not only here i seen people play n vegas that know how to play pro too .

  • Best sport in he world. Im pretty good my self.

  • I don't get the point of this sport...how does the scoring system work ?

  • @PLKx2k9 You get a point if you get the other team "down" while you're serving. Usually it's played to 21 points.

  • @PLKx2k9 Basically you hit the ball back and forth until your opponent misses it or hits it out, like in tennis. But unlike tennis you can only score when you are serving.

  • Im good at handball u guys play different and the cours are different where i live. I dont like the way u play i like the way i play.

  • Hball is the BEST. in EL PASO TEXAS we have a fiew only man nd almost all of them have 3 walls only one is like that one u guys playin in nd thats my FAVORITE one i LIVE 2 PLAY this fuckin GAME.

  • This type of handball is unreal! ps Magiqul is bad at cod4

  • wow 5:02

  • I waanna learn how to cut. Do u post instructional vids on handball? If not thank you for ur vids

  • Wow, us Europeans and Americans sure like to get our sport-names mixed up a lot. Football's not football and Handball's not handball, lol.

  • @MiloDaemon Most Americans don't even know there is another meaning to "football." And most handball players have never heard of or seen the European sport. using that name I guess we're happy here in our blissful ignorance. . . .

  • @brooklynhandball Well, while we generally do know American Football (Sometimes we refer to it as American Rugby) I have to admit that I have never seen this 'Handball' sport before. On first sight in looks like squash without a racket, or am I stepping on some toes right now ; )?. Looks like fun though, a lot easier to set up in a casual situation which is always nice.

PS. The 'Handball' sport common in Europe/Asia has 0% in common with this one, I suppose the name's a little out there.

  • @MiloDaemon Yes, same principle as squash (except just one wall and without the metal strip at the floor) -- or raquetball. And yes, it's a lot of fun and does not require equipment other than a ball. You need a court of course. We have 2000 of them here in New York so handball is everywhere. What country are you in?

  • what exactly is the criteria for a block? like if a player moves away from ball coming towards him/her that person cant do that? How about if i hit the ball and stay where i am and the ball comes close to me but doesnt hit me, and the opponent has a hard time getting the ball, is that blocks?

  • @Mojoman1 In your examples (1) In street rules, if a player moves at all while in or near the path of the ball, the receiver can call a block (as long as he had a reasonable chance to retrieve the ball). (2) Again, in street rules, if the player is absolutely still, the receiver can't call the block even if the player's body interferes with the receiver's ability to hit the ball -- usually, the receiver will just tap the ball lightly onto the player, which in street rules counts as a block.

  • Yes but just make sure you realize Mojoman1 that for rule (1), the "receiver CAN call a block". I just want to emphasize this because you'll see in a lot of games where players will be more lenient with this rule during the beginning of the game and then call it every time when its a close end game. Other times, the correct block call is made but the referee will screw up and not give the call. Perfect example would be point game between PeeWee vs Rookie during the Best of the Best Tournament.

  • Why do I get the feeling that from time to time they will accidentally hit each other and a fight will break out

  • @Ajmasterb12 You're asking us to guess about why you feel something? OK. Here are my guesses: (1) you don't live in New York and you assume people who live here get into fights for no good reason; (2) you don't play any sports for fun and don't know anything about how people treat each other during games; (3) you don't know anything about handball. By the way: I've played several thousand handball games and have never seen a fight break out over someone getting hit.

  • @brooklynhandball yea all those were true except for the second one

  • @Ajmasterb12 Wow. Two out of three. But even more impressive is your honesty. Sorry if I sounded harsh. You've just won a free tour of Brooklyn next time you're in New York.

  • @brooklynhandball; 51st and where?

  • Great video. Where is this park located? I used to play handball south side by Williamsburg bridge...

  • Where is the park at??

  • is this 51s park?

  • @1121718 yes

  • 5:22 2 bounces

  • @vinn definitely not.

  • nice

  • Dude, congrats on having over 100K views!

  • @Demonfireangel I didn't even notice. Thanks!

  • @HAMZA7799 One member of the team serves and keeps serving until the team loses a volley. Then the other team member serves until the team loses a volley. Then it's the other team's turn to serve. The teams alternate like this until the game is over.

  • I will someday come to Brooklyn to play handball before I ship off, I promise that. I'm tired of playing on the same court in Amityville, lol.

  • This shit is so fucking fun... I like 1 on 1 better though I have never tried teams.

  • Good shit. They gettin Dow forealz

  • they make it seem so easy but is not...

  • I USE TO BE BEAST AT THIS XD

  • Gloves shouldnt even be allowed in big blue your hand is numb after a few hits anyway

  • @Laboonbrook33

except some people's hands such as mine get cracked very easily, other than that i agree.

  • @bangalirussian I agree. Playing for a day without gloves won't crack your hand, but if you play day after day without gloves, your hand starts cracking. I should know; I'm a victim of this.

  • @Demonfireangel yea u right thats what happen to me 2 summers ago now i just wear gloves for now

  • @Demonfireangel I've never had my hands cracking, do you wash them after, lotion and everything?

  • @sexinthebathtubwith I wash them after, but I don't put lotion. Maybe that was my problem.

  • Salut

  • Je suis annusante tu suis naurie at handball

  • @ brooklynhandball

victory field has 3wall courtss :D

    if im correct ?

  • Old Bronx player, great to see you guys playing. I have played all over the country 1, 3, 4 wall with all types of balls. Austin has no outdoor courts and Dallas has only one on church street. If you here of any, let me know.

  • in Brooklyn is one wall mostly played? here in Phx, AZ we mostly have three wall and four wall handball courts in the parks, i used to play one wall but like three wall better.

  • @Coches I don't think I've ever seen a three-wall court in New York . . . .

  • @brooklynhandball i have seen some in new york but i think teh places charge per hour

  • @brooklynhandball Ya there are in Forest Hills

  • @brooklynhandball i believe there is some variation of a 3-wall court in victory field.

  • @brooklynhandball come to elmhurst

  • @brooklynhandball Victory field in Queens you ghetto trash!

  • @RaiderInNY haters are going to hate

  • @Coches

Well, we only use one wall to play, There are three courts basically on one wall but connected, only soperated by those white lines you see in the video.

  • @Coches in coney island there is a three to four wall court.

  • This is now the most viewed handball video on youtube.

  • @brooklynhandball

    handball or AMERICAN handball?

  • @brooklynhandball yay! we need this shit to get out there in tv

  • is handball big in new york?

  • @phntazma95 yea

  • @phntazma95

That's an understatement. Handball is bigger in NY than anywhere else in the US.

  • @masanf very true

  • @CriticBC it doesnt matter who hits it

  • THis is how real handball is played dog. No fuckin gloves that's right. Missed my good ol days of handballin'

  • What happens if a person does not have a dominant hand?Do they play better or worse?Idk about me cause i cant play with left and right with no critical flaw.

  • qoddamn tha spike @4:32

  • did any1 peep that beast ass shot gio hit @5:02 the cut is ode crazy

  • this the park by JFK right? i need to come threw

  • What park?

  • You can use a racquet ball to play handball right?

  • @Thiefmanx2 yea i use penn balls all the time

  • @Thiefmanx2 then it's called racquetball ball

  • @brooklynhandball technically its not even called handball, this is considered wall ball. handball is way different. and there prob. the best in brooklyn but not the world. they didnt even use any tricks no backhands or anything, no style..

  • @hawkthorne22 OK. Show me the video of someone playing the game better.

  • @hawkthorne22 When your playing a tournament does the game really come down to style and back hands? Its all about the basics, their special ways of playing. And if you've seen better then please send me a video

  • @georgechen12

No the game doesnt come down to style and back hands...check this video out 2 of the top players in the game

  • @georgechen12

handball players do not play for style. its a competitive sport..there main objective is to keep the ball in even if it looks like style is being added

  • @hawkthorne22 they r using tricks its called "jamming" they r trying to smash it to the persons center body so fast that they miss (also the game is go in such a fast pace that there isnt anytime to use tricks, maybe in a singles but now in a double with B and A players) , and back hand is not really necessary its only and other way to reach the left side and in my opinion its a waste of time just use ur left its faster

  • @silent333 beaming? o.O

  • @hawkthorne22 style is one thing... but that's mainly just to look catchy no one really uses them in real games. i haven't seen anyone in tournaments use them that is considering it's pretty risky to even try to lay one and land it correctly without setting it up for the opponent

  • They SLAP the ball like its owes them money.

  • @CriticBC Interesting question. Each player is on one side of the court. If the ball is hit clearly to one side, the choice is easy. If it's down the middle, however, who returns it depends on the situation. With two righties playing together, the player on the left side is normally going to return a ball down the middle because his strong hand is there. There are exceptions to everything, however, and a lot depends on the players' positions at the moment the ball is hit.

  • Every hit sounds one of those hits where the ball pops lmao

  • hey i go there to play handball

  • THIS MAKES ME WANT TO GO PLAY SOME HANDBALL RIGHT NOW.

  • what are the good handball gloves to get?

  • i play this game every day n there will be a tournament in n.y. june 2010 and england is qualified by me n my school

  • yah this video is the most watched video on youtube..average views on a handball vid is like 2-3000..

  • this is the most viewed handball video on youtube i think

  • @jaycro I think you're right. I'd be interested in hearing from anybody if we're wrong. (Also, no advertising ever on my channel!)

  • @brooklynhandball It soon will be but Handball {Big Blue Things} is the most viewed (75k+)

  • @brooklynhandball You guys are wrong ( no offense ) but just note that big blue thing is the most viewed this is a great video btw

  • @popobrainz This video just surpassed Big Blue things!

  • @ kevinng100

    oh iqhtt

    you play there ?

  • so good I remember high school times

  • this looks fun, do you think it would be allowed at a school? and how much do these balls cost?

  • @Hurtydwarf You need a wall with lines placed at the right distance. You could create a court in a gym with tape (and a big ladder) if they'd let you. The balls are just racquetballs & cost around a dollar.

  • lol there should be a hand ball roullet if u lose u get shot

  • i am good enough at the game the ball i use is challenger 1

  • @ kevinng100

setttle ? where that at lOl

  • OMg RAY LOPEZ CAME TO SATLELLITE !!!!! SAW HIM PLAY WITH MY FRIENDS. I DIDNT HAVE A CHANCE TO PLAY HIM GOT TOO DARK D;

  • @ MrCandyKanez

    just practice bro

    & @ SolidSmurf91

    whats your name ?lOl

  • Could someone one help me? I'm tryin to master the underarm killing or saving, and I want to be able to hit ball really hard. My friends have about the same build as me but they manage to hit the ball harder than me. Some one help!

  • @MrCandykanez work on your technique. Remember, it's not just about how you swing your arm, it's also about how you move your body when you make your shot. Try whipping the ball (pretend your arm is like a rope). You shouldn't try to kill every shot. Only kill shots that bounce up to your knee area. When this happens, bend your knees and go for the kill. Oh. and never hit a handball with a straight palm. Always "cup" your hands. Hope this helps.

  • DAMN!!. did you see that save at 3:26?

  • 4:32 not even in your dreams would you qet that murder spike lOl
