I originally thought Thom was a idiot that died trying to be a hero. This trailer comes out, and doing some research, my whole stance on Thom changed. The MFDD had more explosive power than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima. If it didn't explode inside the cruiser, every one on the ground would of been killed, along with Noble team.
Thom just went inside the cruiser, knowing his low chance of survival. He didn't hesitate. He knew what he had to do. Thom died as a true hero, as a Spartan.
So everyone knows, Kat didn't die, the health bar was at yellow and she still had her arm, besides, since when has a live action trailer for Halo ever had something to do with the actual game's plot?

I originally thought Thom was a idiot that died trying to be a hero. This trailer comes out, and doing some research, my whole stance on Thom changed. The MFDD had more explosive power than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima. If it didn't explode inside the cruiser, every one on the ground would of been killed, along with Noble team.
Thom just went inside the cruiser, knowing his low chance of survival. He didn't hesitate. He knew what he had to do. Thom died as a true hero, as a Spartan.

@silver6kraid it was not even kat. It's been revealed that you can choose the gender of your character (noble 6) so it's possible that they took the female version and used her in this commercial.

No, they would keep the shields up to prevent attacks from damaging the ships. Not to keep the spartan trapped inside. While it seems very unlikely that the Spartan survived the explosion, it's not due to the shields.@EternalVortex

@MYGodisawesome no, what was implied in my last comment was that, they probably (and it might not even be the case) lifted the shields again to prevent more boardings, instead of to trap him inside. then again, if the shields are in fact, velocity activated, he might have been able to board the ship even with the shields up, but when the bomb went off, the shields prevented the explosion from going past the ship, effectively containing it.

@nachoguy5 No, notice she still doesn't have the robot arm she does later, and that the guy who picked it up was actually the old Noble 6 which the player character replaces in the beginning of Halo Reach. I guess that's how he died and how she lost her arm. I personally didn't notice this, the user Smidget on Kotaku did, I'm just spreading the word. Anyways the game's looking epic, I'm trying to stay away from spoilers so I can enjoy it fresh when its out.
