  • one person must be a Italiano German or a jap

  • @50sRocKabilly and @evilmonkeyinacloset -- Zeke Clements?! Naw that's Jimmy Riddle playing harmonica and accordion at the same time...he was known for doing that and as far as I know Zeke never played with Roy Acuff at all.

  • This is better than Deep Purple's version, lol.

  • coool song dissing Hitler, Hiro Hito, Mussolini the whole gang of heathens- from 1943

  • kudos to the guy playing harmonica and accordion at the same time

  • @evilmonkeyinacloset That's the talented Jimmy Riddle on harmonica and accordion. He's the same guy that used to "eef" on Hee Haw

  • @evilmonkeyinacloset We come by our conservative bent honestly!

  • Bad ass... He was my great grandfather's cousin on my mother's side. Cheers to the uploader! Thanks much, buddy!

  • @evilmonkeyinacloset We are related, then! Please email me at ndstudent2007@yahoo.com to compare notes. My grandfather was Roy Acuff, 2nd cousin to THE Roy Acuff...

  • @acoleen1 you're my mother...

  • Roy Acuff was 2nd cousin to my grandpa Roy Acuff... I love this song! This personifies America!

  • Roy Acuff was 2nd cousin to my grandpa Roy Acuff... I love this song!

  • pete seger, john lennon

  • @fishinuts No, they were cowards and subversives. This song is about bravery.

  • Good song i like the red foley version as well but i hate roy acuff not the song here just the man he was a sob to his fans and to alot of people such as the great hank williams he would steal songs as such he was an awful man in my mind

  • Has anyone seen Roy Acuff actually PLAY that fiddle?????/

  • @ratherknotty - YES, IT PRETTY MUCHED SUXED!

  • Little did they know America would become a corrupt, corporate ran country.

  • @livingkoan242 - IF ANYONE IS MORE CORRUPT THAN THE SLANGER IN THIS VIDEO, PLEASE LET ME KNOW - THANKS!

  • Jimmy Riddle is an amazing talent...he plays chromatic harmonica, piano, accordian AND upright bass.

  • That was an era that the US of A was truly super patriotic...Brave and confident in what had to be done. Strong, Dedicated. GUN-HO and very commited in destroying the enemy that dared mess with the US of A.

They didn't get all pansied out about killing the enemy like they do today. Now days you can even say words about the enemy with offending the liberal media. I say to hell with our enemies -- have no mercy. Kill them all and let God sort them out.

  • @GCL777 You're a retard. War is just an industry. We're killing innocent people for money and resources. This country has never been pious. Ever heard of manifest destiny?

  • @livingkoan242 Your a total dumb ass.

  • @GCL777 Way to refute my statement.

  • Great song!

  • Well 19Truth53 I'm glad to know that the "Greatest Generation" had a part in giving you the freedom to talk about winning. And as for my time oversea's for your PC, your welcome.

  • I like the other smoke on the water better.

  • too bad this spirit of patriotism is not as abundant today as it was in the past. too many damn non assimilating foreigners, i guess.

  • THIS is country music. This is what needs to be out there on the radio. not the bull crap we have now. oh where the times have gone... :(

  • I remember this song, it sure did make the Japs mad. My brother was in the Pacific fighting the Japs with the 13th Army Air Corps.

Our Country isn't the same as it was in 1941.

  • Who was the bano picker in this video?

  • When this country had balls

  • I AM GOING TO START PUTTING ON FACEBOOK ALL THE NEGATIVE ARTICLES I CAN FIND ABOUT OBAMA AND HIS STOOGES IN WASHINGTON. HE DESERVES ALL THE RIDICULE WE CAN PUT ON HIM

  • THANK YOU FOR REPLYING ! THIS WAS MY FAVORITE SONG BY ROY ACUFF==

IF THINGS WERE STILL THE SAME, WE WOULD NOT BE HAVING THE PROBLEMS WE HAVE TODAY. OUR POLITICANS HAVE SOLD US OUT. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO OUR DEDICATION TO FREEDOM AND OUR WILL TO FIGHT FOR THE AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE? (WAKE UP AMERICA) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I said earlier, that Roy Acuff, was too old to join. I was wrong. Roy,was born 1903. Actor-Clark Gable, was born in 1901, and joined in WWII, the Army Air Force, and Hitler, had a Bounty on him.To bring Gable to him, unscathed !

"Barney Fife" Don Knotts, also joined the Army, and served as a entertainer. Americans, were proud to defend during WWII, not like today. Today they're scared of getting killed, but not scared to snort an 8-Ball of Coke up their nose,or drive drunk !

  • In WWII, even though the U.S. had a Draft, Country Singers, Movie Stars, were all leaving their careers, to go fight. Frank Cady, (mr.Drecker-green acres) he joined/not drafted, actor Jimmy Stewart, was a Bomber Pilot, he had numerous confirmed hits.Captain Kangaroo-Bob Keeshan, was a Marine. So was Mr.Green Jeans. Grandpa Jones,Stringbean, just to name a few. Roy Acuff, was too old,to join,or be drafted. Roy's harmonica player, in this video-Jimmy Riddle, did serve however.

  • fire in the sky.... :D

  • where is the lyrics?

  • I like how the WWII generation took on their enemies without cowardice.

  • Great Lyrics!

  • @50sRocKabilly .....that would be "thanks" to Zeke Clements...

  • i HEARD THIS SONG IN 1943 AND IT MADE THE JAPS SO MAD THEY PUT ROY ON A HIT LIST. THE SONG DIS-APPEARED FROM SALES FOR MANY YEARS. I'M GLAD SOMEONE SAVED IT.

I STILL FEEL THE WAY THE SONG SAYS ABOUT OUR ENEMIES. DON'T WORRY ABOUT "POLITICALLY CORRECT" JUST BE " WINNER CORRECT"

  • This is true. In the Pacific, they used to tease our guys by yelling "**** Loy Akuff!" while hiding in the jungle. Tom Snyder mentioned this, while interviewing him, years ago.

    Norm

  • @RALPHLN The version that got the attention of most of the world (Japan included) was the original, which was recorded by Red Foley. Still the best rendition of this song.

  • @RALPHLN Right on ! The attitudes in this Country sure have changed, along with the mindset. That'll be the very thing, that'll change the whole consept of America. We have a President, now in Office, who "bows" down to the Leaders, of Country's that Hate us.He 's always apologizing for America, also. So what do you expect ?

  • You're a true, bloodthirsty NEOCON, Ralph. Ignorant of history, ignorant of the 'Rule of Law,' ignorant of the Constitution, enemy of 'Thy Fellow Man.' They're all "Japs" and "Krouts," and anything inhuman...,all because YOUR 'government' says so. And, out of curiosity, just what did all this "WINNING" net us? You live in a world where 'PC' is ALL AROUND YOU. And, you're 'Greatest Generation' who fought the 'Good War' sure made China safe for Communism, Russia safe for Communism, etc.

  • What a great time that must have been. But don't worry, we're the SAME PEOPLE we were then and we're waking up. In a twisted way, Obama was exactly what we needed, He's awakened the REAL America, exactly as did Hitler and Tojo, 69 years ago. The best is yet to come, my fellow patirots. COUNT on it!

    Norm

  • this is music mot poitics.

  • @theshadow1932 - Amen to that!

When Hussein Obama won the [now] infamous election, I said this; "the United States of America NEEDED a Barack Hussein Obama in office..., So the American people can be pushed to the brink of destruction, so when the American people PUSH BACK it will be with a resounding effect that will get this Country back to the basics of what the Founding Fathers meant for this Country to be for all Americans!"

One word 'Freedom...!' NOT big money government socialism!

  • @lionking6199zj WTF did you just say?

  • @moproducer

Well... NOT something you would ever understand. There is one thing you can do however... you can drink more cool aid, if that helps.

Do they NOT have socialist left wing marxist video you can go listen to...? This here is American music... so, go on now an' GIT...!

  • @lionking6199zj I don't think anyone can understand you. Maybe you got marbles in yer mouth.

  • @moproducer

    Uh-huh... okay... that's good, that's nice...

...that's really, really good - Hhhahaaaa...

  • This ought to be shown to Obama, this is how things were and got done! Great post and new to me.

  • @MrJeffnow Yeah, remember WWII? They didn't worry about f 'ing deficits back then. On WWII, the US spent proportionately 11 times what we've spent on Iraq/Afghanistan. 16 million of our finest Americans went over. Nearly all of 'em were drafted, but they didn't care.

Down with big gov't! Down with spending! Reinstate the draft! Send over more troops, more ammo, and just don't pay for it!

  • Ahhh I LOVE this song! glad my Great uncle has some fans on youtube haha

  • You and I are somehow related; I'm related to him through marriage somehow on my mother's side.

    It's a small world!

  • haha, it sure is isnt it.

  • Now the enemy is within.

  • i agree, and at least in world war 1 and 2, you knew who the enemy was.

  • Little Rachel is my Granny. I am so proud to see this video on here. I sure do miss her.

  • great song ...

  • A time of clear understanding and at least a moderate trust in government officials -- a time that's gone now. Bring peace to the world by ripping the psychopaths and bullies to shreds. That, at least, still makes sense. Thank you for posting this. I'm going to learn it -- even if I never perform it for any audience.

  • I like the way how Ezekiel 38, 39 and Revelation 19 have been applied to WWII. The Bible mentions Ezekiel 38, 39 as WWIII and Rev. 20 as WWV as up-coming in the Tribulation. Very intersting.

  • "The Greatest Generation" was out to revenge Pearl Harbor, and with blood in their eyes. There were no wussy thoughts of "what can we do so that they won't be so mad at us."

  • What can we do so they won't be mad at us? Kick their kiesters so hard they'll be AFRAID to be mad at us!

    Norm

  • @american37 We can hit them so hard they'll be AFRAID to be mad us. Our "culturally insensitive" dads turned Germany and Japan into NOTHING, then sat them down and TOLD them how things were going to be. We're now facing an enemy that's far worse. Too bad we're not playing to win. We need to let the towlies know that, if they don't learn to behave, we'll send their whole race extinct then rub each Allah loving corpse with pig crap. That'll get their attention. And it Will happen.

    Norm

  • @theshadow1932 I was 11 years old when Pearl was hit. I wish our Country was the same as was in 1941. You and I remember what was then, and now we have Chickens in Washington DC.

  • @american37 no your right they were thimking hey how can we crush them on defeat

  • @american37 Of course, the difference was that the Japanese were the actual perpetrators of Pearl Harbor. Too bad we can't say the same about Afghanistan, Iraq, and 9-11.

  • @TheTradingOutpost Muslims ! I don't care if I'm not Politically Correct,either !

  • @american37 i think the song is maybe a muse upon the universal trap that creates the "them and us" and depends how we want to treat it i guess, like most things in life

  • Wow !!! this is amazing...Never seen this before

Love Jimmie Riddle on harp...What a band TX for posting!!

  • Crazy..!

  • hahahahaha whoooo damn

"they'll be nothing left but vultures to inhabit all that land, when our mighty ships and bombers make a graveyard of japan..

    dude wtf

    that's awesome

  • I imagine the harp player is Jimmie Riddle.

  • After seeing this video, I've learned there was a World War II song called "Smoke On The Water" 30 years before the Deep Purple song of the same title.

  • Who's the harp player? Anyone know?

  • sounds like Onie Wheeler

  • @packingten Onie Wheeler, didn't join up with Roy Acuff, until the 1960's. Onie, played on Sun Records, in the 1950's,and toured with Elvis Presley. Onie, was in the War, when this Video, was made.He died in 1984, while singing on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry, of a Heart Attack, for the "Grand Ole Gospel Show", a Christian Show, with Rev.Jimmie Snow, son of Hank Snow.

  • @ModGirl1967 Jimmie Riddle was the guy on Harmonica & Accordian. He stayed with Roy Acuff, until he died in the 1980's. Jimmie, was also on Hee Haw, as one of the eeephin, duo, with Jackie Phelps. Jimmie, served in WWII.
