Yes, file sharing is illeagle here in Sweden but because TPB just provided links to torrents they are according to Swedish law not guilty. In their first trial they where convicted, they have another one coming so we keep our hopes up! BTW. corruption like you wrote sums it all up pretty good...
According to Swedish law (1960:729) they are guilty to participation in transference of works protected by copyright . The law could, for some people, be complicated though.

The government is taking more of your money than you realize. I tried to figure out how much, but they have made it confusing. One example, average taxes that are apparent in a gallon of gas average about $0.48 per gallon. The tax you pay from the federal gov is more than any estimate of oil co profits that I have read. That is not including any taxes that are paid in order to produce a gallon of gas. Is this stealing? I think so. Is it OK? Not at all. Does this make the Pirate Bay OK??

@Chekirows oh trust me man. I just downloaded something 1 week ago on saturday night. If I download anything, I'll do it when there are like a million people doing it at once. I see it as a fisherman trying to catch a tuna in a sea of bass. If you download on a monday afternoon or something you may highly get caught. (sry if you knew this I just get pissed off when thinking of these things. I just speak my mind you know?)

Piratebay is shot anyway. It`s so f**ked up by hackers hired by the MPAA and gaming industry the site is useless. I mean try it right now if you don`t believe me....Go to their main page and type something in their search engine and watch what happens...10 billion things will start downloading into your web browser until it freezes up which is exactly what these hackers want to happen. It effectively stops the website from functioning.

Because TPB was closed for a couple of hours, the jackass-es from my country wanna try and close the torrent sites hosted in Romania(yeah that's where I live). I'm very glad because TPB is up and running. As long as they do nothing for us to be able to live better, earn more money and erradicate corruption, they will never be able to stop piracy.

lol? torrents arent pages, you need to open torrents in a torrent downloading program, and if your browser automaticly opens a torrent as a page, right click on the torrent link, and click save-as, and then open the torrent manually off your HDD

TPB 4 were railroaded unfairly because they were honesty. Crooked bought trial from the git. Unfortunately, filling the void (since I am new to torrents) is money grubbing encryted torrents. Yes, file sharing is illeagle here in Sweden but because TPB just provided links to torrents they are according to Swedish law not guilty. In their first trial they where convicted, they have another one coming so we keep our hopes up! BTW. corruption like you wrote sums it all up pretty good...

According to Swedish law (1960:729) they are guilty to participation in transference of works protected by copyright . The law could, for some people, be complicated though.

Well to be fair, google has many *legitimate* uses, while TPB is almost exclusively used for pirated material (it's in the name!) They exist only thanks to illegal activity, and they enable it.
But it's true that technically they aren't breaking the law, and that until that ridiculous law is changed to include links to copyrighted content equally illegal as the content itself, they should not get prosecuted and certainly not convicted.

I use the pirate bay to distribute programs I makle, and to download music and for cd's and stuff that got scratched or lost. I only download stuff I didnt pay for if it cant be bought anymore.btw google uses spyware and provides links to child porn while tpb removes those, whose in the right there. TPB will usualy remove something if its moraly wrong google will only remove it if they can get money by doing it. However I respect your right to have an opinion, your a lot more coherent.

As a legit user of TPB you are a very small minority; I just visited its Recent Torrents page, and couldn't see a single item that was not copyrighted material -- DVD rips, music discographies, cracked software etc.
If I was one of the "evil major corporations" producing this content I would see red too. The odd thing is that more and more people seem to feel that they are entitled to free content. The problem is, if all content is free, no money can go into producing it.

The RIAA/MPAA are not a system of government or social organization, and they're certainly not nationalistic. They represent private interests, and they want *money*.
(Powerful groups lobbying government for policies in their interest is part of most systems, in particular capitalist democracy.)

Now, you say that petty theft can only be fined $1000, but that's for one act. Here you have the equivalent of someone performing petty theft every day for years. In some parts of the U.S., repeating the same crime 3 times lands you in jail for life.

Fascism is using your power to force everyone to agree with you. When a danish isp said they wouldnt negotiate with them they immedietly sued them and won. Goverment members and tv presidents have been forced from their jobs for disagreeing. This doesnt sound like democracy to me.

If they sued and won, that means that a court (which in a democracy is an independent authority that settles disputes) decided that they were right.
You don't like the outcome because they're bullies, fine, but in a democracy they are allowed to use all legal means at their disposal.
(Again, they're not fascists, since they're not government and they're not nationalistic.)

I would make my house a valubles more secure. I wouldnt pick one or two and completly ruin their lives,and the money isnt from anything they did (other than suing) its the artists who disaprove of what their doing often.
