  • I listened to Bill Randle every day after school (mid 1950s to early 1960s) on WERE (1300 on the AM dial). It's great to hear that snippet of his theme song and to hear his voice again. I would love to know the name of that instrumental jazz song that opened his radio show.

Lois G. (West Tech High School, Class of June 1960)

  • @TopazDupree I remember there was a vocal version of it sung by the Four Lads?? and the lyrics were: "In Cleveland, no one holds a candle, to the old professor Mr. Randle, he plays the kind of music we can handle, on WRMR." there were some more lyrics too but I don't remember all of them.

  • I listened to 1530 WSAI from Cincinnati quite a bit from 1995 through 2001 when Nick Clooney and Don Hermann hosted in the mornings. The station was a local "Music of Your Life" that played some great music. Nice to hear a good air check from AM. I miss music on AM as I liked the sound of it.

  • I remember being in college when this happened, and trying to finish off the semester so I could graduate on time! Wow! What a headache that year as a whole!

  • Both where very interesting to listen too!!
