The middle aged to older crowd still get their news from newspapers/TV. The younger crowd gets their news from the Internet. It's the younger crowd that likes Paul so much, which is why TV/newspaper don't care about him, but the Internet is full of priase for him. Sadly, he's right. Paul is just not popular enough to win. But, in 2 or 3 more elections, somebody like Paul WILL win because by that time the currently younger crowd will be the voices people listen to

Paul isn't even running as a libertarian. He never once mentioned libertarianism in the debate. He's running on a strict constructionist/non-interventi­onist platform. He's closer to Goldwater conservatism than anyone else in the GOP.

Well, the bigger problem is our horrible voting method, where you just get to vote for one candidate. If we used Approval Voting (vote for as many as you want) or Range Voting (rate them, say 0-10), no one would have to "fear" voting for his sincere favorite.
