What's with all the "new dep" and "old dep" shit? Seriously, you CANNOT expect a band to keep playing the same music all the time, bands evolve, musically and through line up changes. It's been the same guy who's been writing every fucking song since they started. The fact of the matter is, if you don't like new Dillinger, then don't listen to it, shut yer trap and cry while you listen to Calculating Infinity, cos they're never gonna put out another.
"We see a deadly sin on every street corner, in every home, and we tolerate it. We tolerate it because it's common, it's trivial. We tolerate it morning, noon, and night. Well, not anymore. I'm setting the example."
I really don't think this was the BEST line up. I mean, Sure we miss Pennie, but really, Gil is every inch as able a drummer as him, and I personally like his fills a lot more than Pennie's. As for Brian..mehhhh..guitarists these days can be easily replaced, and once again, I'd say that Jeff Tuttle is just as able a guitarist as Brian, with a little more energy. And Dimitri?
He was great for the original sound of Dillinger, but there's no way I'd pick him over Greg today.
Dude no way, Jeff Tuttle brings down Dillingers stage presence. Brian Benoit on the other hand was Weinmans stage left slasher, he spazzed out hard. No way does Tuttle come near Benoit.
Maybe you've been watching different dillinger vids, but the majority i've seen, Jeff is crazier man. Don't get me wrong Brian had his moments, like in this vid, but if you watch enough and really compare the two, you'll notice quite a bit more insanity in Jeff's performance.
