I would hardly call carbon fiber reinforced plastic and magnesium roll cages "cheap build". The T series's as solid as it gets, except for some keyboard flex they've had lately, but that's due to weight reduction, not cheap build quality, and that's been fixed on the newest ones. Can't speak for the other series though.

There testing the screen flex. If the screen flexes too much, (like on a plane and someone has their crap on top of your laptop bag) Then youll have keyboard indentations on your screen. the mag-alloy rollcage in the thinkpads help reduce this greatly.
