Salu2

  • *pelos de punta*

  • This song doesn' t make me cry, but makes me reflect so deeply lol Life from Chrono Cross makes me cry xD

  • Reminds me of Bjork 'Pagan Poetry'. Also, this is the best game ever made. Thanks.

  • beautiful

  • This game was so easy, I rarely heard this song. The only times I heard this is when I got fucked up by that big beast on Mount Woe the first time I came in contact with him lol

  • @thereck24

It also plays after beating the machine boss the 1st time u go to the future. When you go back upstairs and present the seed to the survivors.

    Stay HEALTH-Y!!!

  • ................fuck, i dead

  • The title seems off it sounds sad not happy I dislike the titles mistake but I like the music

  • @1zeldalover This is why I made cover of this track, that fits the title - a symphonic one :) feel free to check it any time

  • Somehow, this theme fits me. It sounds melancholic, like my existence.

  • Quien dijo que lo mederno es lo mejor

  • "Heal-thy? .. Has a nice ring to it!"

  • DED.

  • There should be a 3rd Chrono title.

  • emosha cancion T.T .... siempre me gustara esta melodia

  • pulgar arriba si vienes por que viste el video de Dross

  • I'm so sad to see the girl without a father at this time

  • Excelentes recuerdos..

  • this song was the song played at the end when you die. why would it be called "the day the world revived"?

  • @DanTUtilize cuz it plays in the year 2300 after u leave the sewer and give the seeds to the ppl

  • this one makes make cry all the time i go down to find food and a missing father/husband and all i get is a body seeds and the end of the world how can i come out and tell them he is not coming back?

  • Is it just me or does this sound distinctly like a warping song from Zelda: Ocarina of Time?

  • My funeral, meet your music.

  • Truly, the best RPG ever...

  • I would not want a sequel, but i would want a remade in HD version.

  • wooow o.O

  • 3 people heard this song too many times, if you know what I mean XD

  • @Melylareputamadre Yes, you epically failed on several battles and got to see the Game Over screen lots of times, right? =D

  • @Laurelindo are you retarded? I mean the 3 people who disliked this, and I'm not one of them -_-U baka yanai

  • @Melylareputamadre Eh take it easy, I just misread your post as "I heard this song so many times".

Don't know why really, I guess I just kind of assumed that that's what it said when I saw "failed this battle" and was too quick replying.

  • @Laurelindo ok, sorry then, but I guess you should apologize too, the "you epically failed on several battles" is a serious offense to me (I'm a gamer =P)

  • @Melylareputamadre Heh sorry, although I was not serious so don't take it personally. ;P ^_^

  • i think the problem is that not everyone wants a sequel to chrono trigger itself, they just want a game to give them that same kind of impact, and that's very hard to find

  • ouch! steel shade that son of a bitch is going to die!

  • Thumps up if your crying.

  • @m4sterofP4in i cry 'coz i know i never gonna see a game like this... this is a a game EPIC... is .. a .. EPIC WIN.. :L

  • @MrNikoBellico

You sound like a fucking idiot. Actually, I'm sure you're stupid just based on how you type and what you just said.

Nonetheless, the game is pretty epic.

  • @m4sterofP4in I'm wondering why, maybe it's composed to make hearts cry...

  • I always heard people say they cried when they listened to some music, but I never understood why. That is, until now. This music is so beautiful and sad, it as become my favorite video game music.

  • I love this song. It's very simple and it still conveys the feeling of loss and sadness. There was never a more perfect Game Over song.

  • Its amazing how I am reminded of my childhood with these melodies

  • going east take this with ya.

  • best game ever with best music ever

  • Oh, this fucking song... I was browsing through CT songs feeling the waves of nostalgia wash against me and then this damn thing comes up. Fuck, now my eyes are watering up too.

  • @psychee1

Because of the song itself or the amount of times you had to hear it while playing the game?

  • @psychee1 its normal, its pretty sad. Ever listen to: The flower You must live Sealed gate. Dark world gau's theme These songs are really sad and memorable . Breath of fire 2 has that feeling of sadness in it that you encounter here in some parts.
  • Chills up my spine.... :)

  • Not sure why but it helps to heal the hart T.T

  • This tune seems to share a theme heard in Lavos' Theme; are they related in some way?

  • *song queue*

old man : you people.... are not from here..where did you come from?

  • Heal-thy?

  • i'm curently doing a cover of this song on my guitar so much i like this song one day i'll post a video to share this song chrono trigger as the best music and a great inspiration for me to play music in general.

  • Whoa bro, periods are used for a reason XD

  • lol sorry my english vocabulary sucks i realy try hard. Chrono Trigger has the best music that has ever been created

  • when i'm bored i put this song and REPEAT option in my stereo...perfect when i want to draw...i usually put tipe's of music thatdescribe what i want to draw....

THAT'S THE SONG OF MY LIFE AT SCHOOL!!!!!!

CHRONO TRIGGER ITS THE BEST RPG EVER AND WILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That part in Arris Dome always got me...don't know why.

  • me too

  • That scene felt kind of bittersweet for me. On the one hand, this song, and the desolate atmosphere and everything made me feel pretty sad, but it also made me feel a little good inside, because when you give the people in Arris Dome those seeds, you give them hope. All in all, it's a pretty touching scene for me.

In any case, Chrono Trigger is fucking awesome, and this track is one of the most awesome game over tracks ever.

  • Yeah...the atmosphere definitely was made for that; idk, for me it was the contrast that got me.

Especially when the guy says "Thanks...you gave me hope" (or however the line goes). Even though those people are likely to be the last human beings the world will ever see, they can't help but hope...

  • Best game over music in any rpg

  • This song perfectly describes the feeling you get on the last day of vacation...

  • @12kwh how about to far away times?

  • youalways get sad when u hear this song, BUT it is really nice to hear, cuz it reminds you on the old days,!! Best game ever!! Do a new Chrono trigger! pl0x, Anyone Thinks like me? =)

  • I agree the games we have now arnt like the ones we had then

  • Favorite Chrono Trigger theme!

  • I once made up lyrics to this song set to the Lament from Evita.

  • Some games are just better of without sequels. Except most fans fail to understand that. :(

  • @EnglishTurtle

    I agree.

I played ff4 and didn't care for the pink stripes in cecil's dark knight armor and some of the music was cut up and not as good as the original on snes.

  • @piromaniac9999 Pink stripes? Really? They did that to Cecil? ...fuckers.

  • @seestickglue232 Yes they did And they made cecil look like a teenage boy as well.

In ff4 for the snes,he had striped hair but it accentuated him and made him look cool and he looked older for some reason, like a middle aged man.

in ff4 ds:cecil looks like he is at the most 20 years old.

  • @EnglishTurtle let's face it,early 90s was a great era for gaming as from 1990-1994 the best of the best was coming out.

  • @EnglishTurtle i can understand that but, this game leaves too many plots open for a sequel not to happen.

  • @drunkdrag0n like what?

  • @xenogofis if you've played the game you'll understand. The story of Schala, what the future looks like now that it's not a bleak wasteland and so much more.

  • @EnglishTurtle Some games are too awesome to end, that's why we want more.

  • @EnglishTurtle Yeah, but you have to admit, it's kind of mind boggling that Square ditched this battle system and went on with the one from Final Fantasy. :\ I would never want a sequel to this game, I thought it had a fine conclusion, just saying, they could take a few cues from it in other games.

  • @NickCaligo42

Which Final Fantasy are you refering to? I love the VI one (the best), the IV one (The most emotive before FFVI), and The After Years (a good direct sequel).

  • @NickCaligo42 battle system makes sense if you consider the PlayStation's technical limitations. Since you couldn't have real-time 3d overworld maps, it would be much more difficult to have a Chrono Trigger-style gameplay; it simply wouldn't look good.

  • @EnglishTurtle Did you SEE the ending? There's SO much to be explained, a sequel would work in CT's case.

  • @EnglishTurtle CC is fantastic. Silence.

  • @EnglishTurtle oh man! if u were a girl and pretty i'll kiss u, anyone understand that! all the ppl that i mmet think that always the sequels in the games are better

  • @EnglishTurtle i think it just a begging for a similar game with a story just as beautiful as this game.

that's what i think, i really like a new kind of chrono game it does not need to be similar but just the artistic and story :) needs to be just as high as the chrono game.

  • @EnglishTurtle:

Go play through Crimson Echoes, a fan-made sequel to this game that honors the original and then some, everything we ever wanted in Chrono Trigger 2 and more! It links Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross together so that they make some sort of sense and...yeah.

Blame Squeenix for shutting down fanmade stuff and rereleasing shitty ports instead.

  • @jcdenton2k If you just called the DS port shitty, then you are delusional. Battling is WAY easier, the graphics & sound are as good as they were 20 years ago, the script is better, and the arena is pretty cool. Plus, the touchscreen has like 8 buttons and a map. The PS1 port was pretty awful though.

  • @jcdenton2k crimson of echoes is still availaible?

  • @EnglishTurtle Well, if you're talking about some FFX-2, I agree with you! But I loved Chrono Cross as much as I loved Trigger, simply because I didn't tell myself "Oh, I'll play Trigger's sequel!". Nah. I played Chrono Cross! It has it's own story, it's own gameplay and it's own feelings. Of course, if you haven't played Trigger, you probably won't understand some things. I'm a fan of the chrono series, and I didn't "fail" to understand that Trigger was better off without a sequel!

  • Fucking awesome music!!

  • Beautiful and hopeful... the world is changing for good...

  • this music is sad but hopeful at the same time. i always let it play through when i die, it's that good.

  • i used to die just to hear the song >.>

  • I always loved the music from this game, ever since I first heard it as a little kid.... and this happens to be one of my (many) favourites. :D It's just so... pretty! Even in its simplicity.

    Thanks for uploading these! :)

  • i would love to see chrono trigger 2.. or at least a remake of chrono trigger with new generation graphics and while maintaining it's remarkable musics~ *drools*

  • There would be a fucking awesome fan-remake, when SquareEnix didn't cancelled it :/

  • ...Video game music was so much better during the SNES, more specifically THIS game, generation than it is now. The emotions in the music were so awesome. The only game recently to have even come as close was FF10, but only barely.

  • i wish i can see Chrono's world...like maybe 1000 years later? lush green fields with dome cities with laser defenses lul

  • that would be cool! Man I'd like to be one of the game characters.. Marle or Lucca maybe? That would be awesome..

  • nah, would be pretty sucky, because Marle and Crono got killed by Dalton and Lucca got murdered by the cat-guy from Chrono Cross.

  • Not yet confirmed. The game says that Crono and Marle had an accident, but we also get to hear that Guardia bounced back and Lucca's letter in CC states that they're still alive.

We also did not see Lucca getting murdered, so we can't be 100% sure about that either.

Besides, CC isn't a true sequel to CT anyway. It's more of a side-story. Chrono Trigger 2 could still be made some day *sadface*

  • Lynx or Kid said in CC that Lucca got murdered and Crono, Lucca and Marle appeard as ghost in CC.

I don't think that CT2 will be made.. I hope SquareEnix will continue their work on Chrono Break

  • Kid said that Lucca got murdered, but he never saw it happen. He never saw Lucca back, so yeah, she might have been killed.

Oh and the meaning of those ghosts has a storyline behind it. They're actually the memory of the planet or something like that. They're not really the ghosts of the three heroes.

I really do hope they turn back to CT. That was the true masterpiece of the series.

  • What do you mean by a "true sequel"? By many definitions, Cross is a sequel.

  • It does indeed continue where CT left off, However according to a Kotaku interview with Kato, it seems they didn't intend to make as a real sequel, more like a lone game using CT's story. The result of a Trigger being hit, so to speak.

He said several times that CC is not a sequel to CT (Like for example MGS2 is to MGS).

A CT sequel is still possible, but unlikely.

Hell, I'd rather not have them make it. The add-on quests CTDS were mediocre. The original CT crew is gone (partially) :( .

  • It's still a direct consequence of CT's story.

  • More like the concequence of a trigger being hit.

Continuation of a story doesn't necessarily turn it into a sequel. It could very well be a spin-off, or alternative storyline (Not saying that it is).

  • Alternate realities....parallel universes...Chrono Cross was good, but was WAY too complicated to have heart the way Chrono Trigger did.

CT was epic in its simplicity save the world by travelling through time..don't worry about trying to explain, it's an adventure!

  • I think if they made a new "chrono" game, they should continue with what they did with cross and expand on character's back stories or introduce a new story with elements of the first two in it. A direct sequel to trigger would just be terrible, it would ruin the game's magic since the ending was so perfect and resolved (talking about the GENERAL "good" ending where lavos is defeated, everyone lives happily ever after etc...)

  • I would call it more like the general good endings. I see both the balloon ending and the epoch ending as that. I wonder why new games don't do that.

As for a new game, I would rather see a new game be made than have a Chrono series. Especially since it would mean saying that some parts of Chrono Trigger happened and others didn't. That would just ruin one of the great joys of the game, story. I mean, for some Chrono did cluck like a chicken and for other perspectives Chrono didn't.

  • that's what i mean, like introduce something new, a new protagonist (like they did with Serge in Chrono Cross) instead of altering beloved characters in ways that might be detrimental.

  • Cross wasn't terrible, if you take it as a separate game away from Trigger it was good--and if you compare BETWEEN and not WITH Trigger, you're set. Radical Dreamers did a good job of saying Kid's background, and the disguised Magus. IF they made a new Chrono game they would need to continue with new protagonists, but still incorporate the similarities between that and CT like CC did well.

  • I in no way said cross was terrible, in fact i respect it as one of the most well done video game sequels in existence. I'm just saying that a DIRECT sequel to trigger could ruin it.

  • Oh, I realized after I submitted my comment it sounded that way--haha, I wasn't actually striking at you more so at the people who believe that Cross was a terrible game. I realized the wording of it sounded wrong, haha.

  • This is also the music that plays after Chrono is saved, as well as the seeds given to Doan.

  • A variation also plays in the middle of the battle with Lavos, if you wait long enough.

  • You don't really need to wait. Chances are, in your first battle with Lavos, the fight will go on long enough to hear it. Maybe even twice.

  • You haven't understood the emotions in this melody.

Sure, it does sound like a Game Over theme, but it also sounds like a last hope, a final belief that the world *might* revive, but you can't trust it - hence the depressed melody.

  • CT has the one of the most legendary music!

Doan: Heal-thy? It has a nice ring to it..

  • @heyjo0205 oh was that what he said in the original? in the DS one he says "hope?that has a nice ring to it."

  • @SephirothBoy13 yes :) well according to ted woolsey's translation (correct me if i'm wrong here!)

  • @heyjo0205 It sure has. :' )

    We'll try growing the seeds...

  • Does anyone else feel like crying when this music plays after you hand over the seed to the people in 2300 AD?

I think that's one of the strongest moments in the whole game.

  • to be honest I did the first time.. I still get kinda choked.. Not just chrono trigger but chrono cross too both have moments like this.. And thats exactly why we all just keep comin back to this game..

  • What moment in this game isn't an epic one? That's what makes this game so epic, it's nothing but epic moments which makes it strong, and dare I use the word again-yes, epic.

  • Yeah, it's also beautiful when you slowly enter the room where Epoch rests.

And when you switch Mr. Nuasar off and he "sleeps beyond the river of time".

I don't know why, but that part always gave me very complex feelings, even for the standards of this game.

You can feel that he's dead, but still... awake, in a sense, somewhere very far away.

  • When does this tune play, again?

  • I seem to recall it playing while Marle was talking about something. That's all I remember though :P

  • Yeah, me neither. I like it, though.

  • it plays when they were talking about chrono after he sacrificed himself to save the others. It plays for some time until you completely leave that area.

  • Oh, right... Doesn't that old guy at the End of Time play it?

  • yea. that's right. i forgot about that.

  • I think it plays when you give the old guy in the future the plant... I also think it's part of the Lavos battle, when you're still outside the shell

  • I believe it's time for all of you to play the game again. You'll be surprised when you hear music in completely different places than what you're saying.

  • So freakin' nostalgic...

  • game over, fools!

    Lavos owns you!!

  • But...the Future Refused to Change

  • Oh, is this the 'Game Over' music? I didn't know...

  • of course...
