One thing I have found with the Japanese subbed version is that they translate all of the background txt and the pop-up "boards" as well as the speech. And they also put up little bits of info to explain meanings and history.

I love the english voice actor as much as the Japanese but to listen to Sukura Kiss in English I prefer Chris'.

i really... DON'T MIND the dub o_o;; i just wish haruhi's english voice actor could be more... feminine. i know some of you may think "UGH, THAT WOULD DEFEAT THE PURPOSE OF ACTING LIKE A GUY, DURRDURRDURR" but seriously, at least maaya sakamoto added someone sort of a girlish tone to her voice -__- and the twins' english voice actors appall me to no end, i'm sorry. they just fucking suck.

Personally, I like the Japanese versions of the intro and ending much more, but as far as the English dub goes, I thought it was excellent and fit the show MUCH more than the Japanese version. I prefer the Japanese version of the opening, and I love Vic's version of Shissou, though the Japanese version is top-notch. And I agree...subbed anime is so distracting, even though it's still a great anime. Can't beat dubbed when it comes to Ouran :D

Both openings are fantastic!!! It's very rare for anime shows to have their openings dubbed in English so I guess you could say that Ouran was one of the rare :D But I do prefer watching the Japanese opening. And I also like watching the show in English because it's more humorous. Sorry for those of you who hate the English dub but that's just my opinion.

This might just be because I've listened to the original countless times, but the rhyming sounds incredibly awkward to me...

As for the actual voice... I hate it. The singer isn't good. And I'm not just saying that because I like the original version... if I had never heard the song before, I still wouldn't like this singer's voice. Vibrato is cool and all, but too much is too much. It sounds just as awkward as they rhyming. :/

Maybe they'll scrap this at the last moment...? We can only hope.

Funimation just wanted to try something new guys. That's why they translated the song. It only sucks to everyone, b/c everyone watched Ouran subbed first. I love Sakura Kiss. And I have to say, it's a bit odd to hear it translated. But it could be worse. My friend went of b/c they didn't use the exact translation. But it is rather hard trying to do that. And even if you manage it, it still sounds awkward. I have to appalled them, they did a good job. But I wouldn't recommend continuing

to translate the openings and ending to english. They may have been trying to appeal to fans that don't particularily like listening to japanese. But I think the majority of the fans love the Jap songs, so I don't think they should continue to do it. But I also don't think the fans need to be so harsh towards the singer or funimation. It's not their fault we get used to the Jap version before they decide to license something. And as h2oMO said, you have the option of Jap or Eng on the DVD
