Your room looks fine from the view im looking at it, but then again I haven't seen every inch of your room.. so well anyway like it matters to me , but yeah your room looks good the way it is. My room is small, semi-small, or really small, it depends how you see it, and I like to change up the scenery (sp? i don't know) of it, I change it up a lot, or so my friends have said. That's a lot of candy!! ha, I don't eat much of it though, especially chocolate. ...and why am I going on like this? idk
yeah your room is fine, i like the nightmare before christmas poster :D i have one too :P ... yeah we failed with our elections this year in Canada, not only did the conservatives get in ...again :( ... but we had the worst voter turn out ever. like wtf is that
i for one couldn't believe you where talking with your mouth full and I couldn't understand a word, lol but I still love the video. I like the shirt, interesting...............Well I know who I am voting for, all I am going to say is that i want change i can believe in.
omg I remember the scarlet letter, we read it in high school, and I must say that if you reach into that bag one more time.........................lol
As an English teacher, let me explain. Hawthorne feels a great deal of guilt about his ancestors' involvement in the Salem Witch Trials. Whether this is right or wrong, it's a fact. He doesn't think they're bad people; he's just trying to understand their motivations for their actions. One of the major themes in all of Hawthorne's work is the idea of guilt and redemption. Stick with The Scarlett Letter or perhaps read some of Hawthorne's more engaging short stories. Ithink you would like them
I just find it odd that he would feel guilty because of that. I mean, he didn't even know these ancestors, and it's not like someone walking down the street would start harassing him because his great great-etc grandfather killed some "witches".Or that he'd be discriminated against during a job interview because of it :P I doubt anyone around him really cared. I just find it odd
Have any suggestions for short stories? I didnt care for The Custom-House :-/
I've been reading Hawthorne stories, as well as the novel, lately for my English class. I thought this was an interesting comment...so!
I think the guilt makes sense. People do tend to associate the sins of the ancestors with the descendants. But it isn't even a practical guilt, it is because one is generally supposed to be proud of their ancestors, similar to their views, etc. and his views were so diametrically opposed to theirs...This is rambling, I know. (cont.)
It reminds somewhat of the slave traders' descendants in Africa, some interviews I've seen. Technically, they don't have anything to do with the injustice, it was 100s of years ago, but the guilt is still there, because these were your ancestors, they're part of your identity.
I'm not an English teacher, of course, not an expert of any kind. Just some thoughts. =]
it kinda makes me think of how a lot of african American's think "white people owe them something" because their ancestors were enslaved by the "white person's" ancestors. Despite nobody alive in the US did any slaving or enslaving o_O its just like "wtf?"
I guess I do see what you mean though with the idea that people are supposed to be proud of their ancestry, and how that can bring up negative feelings.
That may be true but alot of indian native americans recive benefits because of how they were taken advantage of so long ago and if they can be compensated so can anyone else who has been wronged by force so,,,
I didnt get any candy this Halloween that sucks lol but i think u should keep it the way it is (ya room) because you have to live in the room not us lol and i think it looks fine, pull a chris crocker and put a sheet up lol
Love the video!!LOve love, how your making the videos more interesting by playing with the quality adding different scenes love it.Also,be careful with the candy.Glad you had a great halloween.
lol yeah, i don't want to get poisoned by one of my wacko neighbors. My brother's favorite candy is those Almond Joy things, and then I told him that cyanide smells exactly like almonds so it'd be easy to poison people like him. he got nervous :P
it frightened the children around my neighborhood pretty well :P
Halloween night I had a MAJOR sugar rush and spent the night playing WoW, haha. now I occasionally pop a candy into my mouth :P No more massive amounts of sugar consumption though. The rest of the year I'm really not much of a candy person at all.
