In this interview he doesn't even seem like a rockstar, especially being so different from all the others, so eccentric and unique, as a frontman of a powerful and indigestive band like Tool.
He's like this in every interview. Soft spoken, patient, intelligent.... If he's ever seemed like a rock star then it was all in your head. He's never ever acted like a rock star, cos he just isn't one.
This is the happiest I've seen Maynard in a YouTube interview. Looks like the wine processing business brings out the best in the guy. Wonder, as he got older, if it became harder to keep up the intensity of his amazing Tool performances and he disappeared into the dark corners. This is the happiest I've seen Maynard in a YouTube interview. Looks like the wine processing business brings out the best in the guy. Wonder, as he got older, if it became harder to keep up the intensity of his amazing Tool performances and he disappeared into the dark corners. In any case, just watching an earlier Tool live Sober video gave me lots of great YouTube viewing. Thanks -and as a new fan am buying the CD.

This guy, Gary, is really overly enthusiastic. More grating is how condescending he is. I can't count how many times he said "great effort" or "a lot of potential". And to price the wines based on his opinion...especially at $5 a bottle? That's 'punch-me-in-the-mouth' level disrespect.
