Guys, when Oblivion was made at first they had no idea it would be in skyrim. They did most of the voice acting first and he's found all over Cyordiil. And his rumors are unique and tell things that didn't make it into the game. Like children, multiplayer, levitation, and destructive buildings.

What's the point of this guy anyway? No, SERIOUSLY. When you look at him, it shows a crown icon, which usually means that he's part of a quest and can't be killed, at least before the quest. So, is this guy part of some quest? Or is this guy just ment to be somekind of hidden character that when you find him, he can tell you pointless shit?

Also, it kinda pisses me off that Maiq does mention crossbows in the game, but there's none in the actual game. Third party mods doesen't count.

He just telles about alot of things everyone wants in the game, but were never actually in it. he kindof just taunts you, and gives the basic ideas of mods that people always install. Bethesda new people would mod about this stuff and complain that this stuff isn't in there, so they invented m'aiq to talk about it and rub it in our faces.

@TheChicano77 he runs away just to be random, and all characters in the game interact together. for a highwayman to talk to him is just a coincidence. all characters that have dialogue options are able to communicate with eachother just like you do with others. just like you talk about the emperers death, rumors, imperial city, etc. npc will dicsuss that with eachother too. it's really neat ui must say, but the thing is m'aiq only says things liek that to you. he runs away cuz he is just awesom

He indirectly told you many of the game's secrets by lying about them (ie: There's absolutely no mythical sword in [insert location name], south of [insert town]".

His very presence is an easter egg, especially since many of his messages are fourth wall breaking, and often have to do with common fan feedback. For example: Dragons.

If you can manage to catch up with him, I found out he is always looking for an item called calipers, and he looks everywhere for them! I beleive on PC version you can get him to say alot more stuff. I have 360 and he told me how he "wanted a colovian fur helm, because it's fashionable, yet functional."
