  • Good work! The look and feel are amazingly realistic.

  • aaaaawesome !!!

  • Wow! This looks very realistic! Which software did you use to do this?

  • Breathtaking scene with convincing lighting...but a world without windows!

  • The animation is cool, but hardly worth such grand music. A simple ambient synth piece would have sufficed.

  • This is GREAT! Could you post a high quality version to download?

  • how long did it take to render? :O and did you use shape THAN greeble, or what. =]

    Really awsome btw.

  • Be very carful using the PoC soundtrack..disney and others are going crazy claiming copyright infringement on EVERYTHING. I would suggest using something from the Creative Commons library

  • isn't the music from the Pirates of the Carribean? hahha

  • I have a proposition for you. My video should explain all.

  • how do you get greeble?

  • How exactly did you do this? I'm sure there's a fairly simply technique behind it, but I can't seem to figure it out - your buildings seem to be more varied than a standard greeble city would be...

And help would be appreciated. I really want to try something like this but it always comes out looking crap.

  • i got a great idea, but expect the render time to be months...get a water simulator plug in (don't know from where) and then make the water go through the city like a very very big wave drowning everything...just an idea

  • I've seen that done. It's on youtube somewhere, I think the guy had to render it over a whole day or so.

  • for fluid simulations try RealFlow :D

  • I always wanted to couple animation and live action to make a batman fan film. Like use the animation for backgrounds and larger sets like batcave, and driving scenes. nice vid, 5/5

  • was the name of the music

  • The music is from Pirates of caribbean soundtrack.

  • What material/s and render engine did you use? I'm trying to texture my own greeble city, but the ridiculous number of polys is making it hard to differentiate between windows, walls, doors, etc.

    Thanks!

  • I used the Vray render engine, for materials just some panel textures with a little bump and reflection on it, the environment is a HDRI 360º file and this is what is reflecting in the buildings.

  • what does greeble do?

  • greeble does the random buildings from a simple plane, but you have to play a little bit with it before you get good results.

  • @goosemanxp thanks for the information.

  • Ive got Greeble and cant make anything near as good as this! You did it in minutes? You want to put a short tutorial down somewhere, my friend!

  • i really enjoyed this. looks awesome!

  • lol omg 545 views and not comments? im surprised. i have a few questions...

that was made in MINUTES? i gotta get me hands on greeble.

    What renderer did you use?

Where's the music from (i recognise it... Pirates of caribbean?

nice stuff, im gonna look at ur other vids in a min, right after i download greeble

  • I used Vray for rendering this, yes the music is from Pirates of caribbean.

The Greeble plugin allows you to create procedural block surfaces very easily, this was created over a plane using greeble 2 times over it.
