@Voxman5 thanks your advice is really appreciated :) helpful as well! Thanks keep up the great videos. (sorry for the duplicate comment on your other vid) one last question what would be an alternative to the TLST? Im looking at the BOSS ME-25
Glad you like the vids. A modeling amp & a modeling FX unit are a bad match because amp modeling will conflict giving additional noise and a messy tone. The TLST should be used with a straight amp or direct through the PA. If you want more FX with your VT, either only use the TLST with amp & cab modeling turned OFF (ie effects only) or use a non-modeling MFX unit eg Boss ME20 etc.
i have this amp as well as a vox ac30 and pre cbs fender reverb. i will say that this amp does a pretty darn good job of emulating the real tube sounds. this amp is great for practice and would make a good recording amp too in my opinion.
why do you guys like this sparkly twangy thin sound? can't find a good sound demo of vox amps. all the demos sound just like this guy's demo. some are twangy, some are bluesy. get original people!
@atvrider41790 Depends on the type of music you like. I tend to play stuff I like which happens to be quite blues based. But you think the AC/DC/Led Zep tones are twangy & bluesy?? Surely not! I don't like really heavy metal/numetal so if you want those tones you need to watch other videos, sorry. Also, remember this is just a 1x10" practice amp not a 4x12". By all means do feel free to make your own vid & show us how its done - I'd be very happy to look in if you do!
@Voxman5 yeah thats the problem. I need to watch other videos but they all sound the same. I don't entirely want nu metal but at least some high energy riffage if you know what I mean. Muse, old My Chemical Romance.. etc. These bands have many background influences and not even metal and they know how to pack a punch. I understand everyone is entitled to their own style and influences so my apologies on that if I sound too pushy and biased towards my taste, I was just frustrated about this

Glad u liked the vid. VT30's available as old stock. VT40+ is replacement (c my VT40+ vid). VT's are more versatile, tons of effects, headphone, power selector. Haven't heard jr3, but I'm sure its nice, FX will be extra cost if u need these, but jr3 is pure valve tone. VT's better for quiet bedroom volume. But try both before buying.
@klv400 I have a VT30. Unless you're a beginner, go with a real tube amp; the VT30 isn't in the same league as the Blues Jr.. The clean and over-driven models are decent, but not great, and soon you'll soon be looking for something better. I've owned mine for a year, am past the beginner phase, and am ready to invest in an tube amp. Want tube sound? Buy a tube amp.
@klv400 I LOVE metal, but the high gain channels quickly reach levels of unusable fizzy fuzz and the amp becomes only marginally improved with a distortion pedal. Look past the marketing and you'll quickly realize that this amp is solid state. The single 12AX7 is gimmicky, but does not produce true valve power, warmth, break-up, nor can it produce noise-free and velvety tube distortion.
I don't understand why these guys can't make a modern tube amp with analog fx that can be digitally controlled with a foot switch and a few dials.
I fn hate running BACK and FORTH and BACK and Forth to change the amp settings between songs. There has to be a better way. Maybe electric servos or something and a tiny remote. I end up leaving the the settings alone since it's a pain to search for the tones all the time. This might be cool mic'd over a PA.
@bucktheusa I'm not sure, but I think you're talking about full effect stomp box facilities eg you select your basic tone but can kick on/off reverb, delay, modulation etc independently. If so, only the discontinued 'Blue series' Valvetronix with VC12 floor controller can do this. You do have 8 user presets in the VT & VT+ series, & although it doesn't give full stomp-box control the VFS5 does allow limited control for switching effects on/off (including the pedal section in the VT+)
@bucktheusa The VT & VT+ amps are aimed at the lower cost section of the market, & offer tremendous bang for buck - but for every feature included, Vox has to make tough choices of what's not included, otherwise the manufacturing & retail costs would become unrealistic & uncompetitive. But there ARE some all tube amps that do have digital FX that can be switched on/off. An example is the Hughes & Kettner 'Switchblade'. But then you're talking an awful lot more money!
Hi, glad you liked the vid. I've been playing a loan VT40+ & if you look at my channel you'll see a new VT40+ video you might like to check out. I used several different guitars this time (you'll have to forgive the audio & visual being a little out of synch; slight problem with the editing software & you-tube compression). But you'll hopefully get the idea nevertheless. Great little amp, & the new 11 pedal section (with 33 amp models) gives a wealth of tonal options.
Great demo Voxman! I've been perusing through the vox forum and it's cool to match a face and great playing to a username.
I got the vox ad15vt as my very first amp. Currently I have a '98 SSS american strat and I was thinking about the new Vt+ series. Have you had a chance to play with the Vt20+ and 40+? I ma having a hard time deciding if it's worth the extra money for the slightly larger speaker and power. It seems like that difference in price can be put to better use in a VFS5...
@manyaksi Bad idea - you shouldn't mix a modelling amp with a modelling FX unit - you'll get 'conflicting' amp models resulting in mushy tone & more noise. Either go TLST with PA or a 'straight' amp, or VT on its own - trust me, there's so much in there you really won't need more effects. Also, the new TLEX is coming out, which is much more gig friendly than the TLST, with stompbox facilities.
Hello, I will soon have the Vox VT50. I wonder if the vox vsf5 footswitch allows to switch from clean to drive. ( switch from an modeling to an other modeling ). I don't find answer nowhere :/. Thank a lot if you answer me.
@bouboulmen Yes, you have 8 user memory slots. You can save a clean tone with one amp model in one slot, and a higher gain amp model in another. Glad you thought the vid 'rocked' - thank you!
@greengremlin43 You're very kind, thank you. Glad you liked the vid. The VT's have now been superceded by the VT+ . The equivalent of the VT30 is the VT40+ which is actually 60w RMS at full power. The VT+ also have improved speakers and a new pedal effect section that makes the amp even more versatile, and they're also a little lighter. Full details on the Vox main site. I recommend you go for the new version.
@fredgrohl vt+ the new version. Check out the Vox site for details. In a nutshell key differences are 33 amp models (VT has 22), and a new pedal section, plus better speakers, a tuner and a few other improvements/features. The VT40+ is the replacement for the VT30.
@Voxman5 So if the Vt40+ is the followup for the VT30, I would assume it has 30 Watts, but, since it says 40, I would assume 40 it's got 40 watts, but on the Vox site, it says, it's got maximum 60 watts RMS @ 8 ohms, what is it?
@fredgrohl Good question, don't know - I think Vox has confused everyone with their description. 40w RMS makes sense; I have no idea as to why they show it as having a 60w maximum.
@fredgrohl so If the Vt40 makes 40 watts, then, the vt20 will make 20, with 30 RMS, would that suffice for practicing and an occasional small stage performance?
I've also noticed that this amp has only a 3,5 mm headphone jack, which really suck, as my headphones have a 6mm jack. is it any good for recording audio, can you connect it directly with your pc, without the need of a mic or usb interface?
Voxman your awesome, I have the vt-30 and it is a great amp. I was thinking about getting the new vt 120 plus that's just coming out, any chance you might do a review of that one?
@Supersmellyfartman Most kind and thank you so much for looking in. As I have an AD120VTX & have already demo'd the VT30, I wasn't planning to demo any of the new VT+ amps....but you never know.
@gamezrule44 Ha ha - at last fame has arrived - a request for Voxman's greatest hits! LOL OK,: Sweet Home Alabama (Lynyrd Skynyrd), Back in black (ACDC), Shook me all night long (ACDC), Rock 'n Roll (Led Zeppelin), Whole lot of love (Led Zeppelin), Saturday night's alright for fighting (Elton John). Everything else is either improvised or riffs from my own stuff.
@lewiswren That's like asking 'which guitar? Strat or Les Paul, Tele or SG? They're all good but all different, with their own characteristics, plus points and minus points - all depends on what best suits YOU ; )
thanks for a great all-round demo of this amp and as for the playing, I wish I had half your ability. these videos really help with various settings/tones and different songs and you have done it to the max. keep up the great work.......
Oh Yeah, on the AD manuals, it tells how the knobs can act like volume/presence/etc on some models and stuff. how come the VT manual doesn't tell that? that would help so much LOL :D
@fredgrohl well older vox amps are known for being unreliable. dont know about the newer ones, but I just never cared for vox much. they never had enough gain for me. I ended up picking up an AC30 instead of this valvetronics, Had it for less than a day, and traded it for a mesa. i may someday get a VT but the AC30 is supposed to be the holy grail of vox amps, and i just didnt like it. so probly not any time soon.
@dchim2 Different amps all react differently to different pedals. In theory, yes - but you should try different pedals to see what 'fits' best with the VT amps.
sorry to bother you one last time, but i need a little bit of help. i love the UK 80's model for my classic rock, but i'm trying to get a more modern alternative sound, say like Green Day. the UK 90's model (Marshall JCM2000) is the closest i've come, but i noticed it gets pretty fuzzy, especially when i palm mute. i don't think there's any defects with the amp because all the other channels are fine, i was just wondering if there's any EQ settings you'd recommend or something thanks!
@roolpalacios Sems to be a duplicate post, already correctly answered by alithgreatest34...but to reconfirm, it's Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
(continued) any help would be appreciated because i don't know if that's what should be happening. also i'm sure you've heard of the problems with volume jumping when changing from clean to distortion channels. I noticed that that only happens when switching from one of the AC30 models to the distortions. But when i use the Modded CL channel and switch, the problem disappears, so that's a remedy i've used. I would just like some input on my situation. Thanks!
@alithegreatest34 Some VT amps have this vol spike issue when switching between certain amp models; others don't. I don't know why this happens but there's no fix that I'm aware of & it appears to be a (albeit slight nuisance) amp characteristic.
I just got a Vox VT30 recently, and i'm still trying to find a good tone. I've constantly check your website to find tips, and they help, but it's still frustrating. I play a lot of hard rock, and i try to use the UK 80's setting for that. For more modern rock, i try the UK 90's or UK Modern. for the 80's and 90's settings, i feel like it's too muddy and deep, and i end up cutting out all the bass and maxing out the treble to get a tone i like. (continued)
@alithegreatest34 The VT30 ishould be bright not dark, so I'm wondering if your jack sockets may be oxidised and your signal degraded (see FAQ maintenance thread on Valvetronix . net forum) - use electrical switch cleaner to clean ALL sockets (do your guitar input too), and try an amp reset too (in case there's a software file-path corruption). I'd also try a different make of guitar lead - leads can make a huge tonal difference.
did you use any pedal or effect or was that the amp only ? I'm looking to buy something in the price range of the VT30, but I'm hesitating between this and a Line 6 Spider IV 30w, which is almost same price and has lots of effects into it too, any advices ?
@ahhgrrrrr Amp only. There's enough VT FX options to keep most folk happy (See manual for details. You can load a pdf from the Vox site. There's lots of demos of the VT30's FX to hear inc. on the Vox site). If you want lots of bells & whistles but prepared to accept a digital tone, go Spider IV. If you want great valve tone, punch & feel with a useful selection of good onboard FX, go Valvetronix. There's simply no comparison tonally - try them side by side & let your ears be the judge.
morning, love the sound of the 1st setting, what reverb, and EQ settings did you use? now that I have a vt30 Im playing with everything and found one i really like so far, the AC30TB orange preset, niceeeeeeeee ;-)
Morning, I found a used VT 30 on E Bay form a local shoppe, went and tried it, perfect condition, and @ 1/2 price, now it's mine! keep on rockin, Mel.
@TheMusicShield Thanks. No, it's not true. The VT's have a global reverb. If u use an external rvb just set the onboard reverb to '0'. Re o/d & distortion with ANY amp, the more pedals u add & the more distortion used, the muddier/noisier your tone can get. But used sensibly, decent pedals should sound good with the VT, but not all pedals suit all amps, & time-based FX (delays/modulations) are often best via an FX loop (Only VT100 has one; but mods available for others-see the forum for info)
I really enjoy your demos and playing, I agree you are a very talented guitarist, if you think so or not ;-) I tried one of these amps out today in the guitar shop, I was blow away! I first looked at a bugera v22, then this one, no friggin comparison at all, what a great amp for the money! It's on my to get list for sure........keep on rockin dude!
@neohiomale1947 - You're most kind, thankyou. To be fair, the Bugerv22 is a very nice amp but being all-valve amp it's quite different to something like the VT30 - each is aimed at quite different needs/markets. Of course the VT30 is tremendous bang for buck & a lot of fun to play - but ditto the v22, justin a different way, which is competing with amps like the AC15 or similar sized Fenders, for players who want a pure all-valve tone. Good luck, & enjoy whatever you go for.
Sorry to double comment but I had to poke you for calling yourself a sloppy player. Not true at all... But as I like to think of the the best never thinks they're good enough, that's why they're the best!
After your recent demos I got one of these amps. I went for the VT15 as I only play at home and then with the power tuned down halfway. Beatles, Shadows, Buddy Holly etc. Experimenting with the different amp models, effects and delay I can achieve some good shadows sounds and better still I can then bank them. I have had a Marshall mg, Roland cube 20. But this amp is IMO the best, for me anyway. Keep it up. Good demos.
@roland30x Glad you're enjoying your VT15 - it's a great little amp & terrific 'bang for your bucks'. Thanks for watching the vids & glad you found them helpful.
Great, clear and understandable vid! Helped me ALOT in my decision for a new amp! Since Im playing in a coverband, I need a complete set of sounds and I think this will do wonders. Bought it yesterday and will gig with it tomorrow. I took a small chance going for the VT-30 since my old amp is extremly heavey, I thought this one would be better to carry around. We got a PA so SHOULD be ok with the 30. Otherwise I have to upgrade to the 50 next week! ;-) Thanks again!
@lollsan123 The Valvetronix is perfect for covers. VT30 is beautifully compact & if miced up to a PA should be all you need. The VT50 is a little darker sounding with its 1x12" speaker but has more volume as you know. Glad you found the vid hepful & thanks for listening.
@shoekstra1419 Just a case of experimentation I'm afraid - but (re big muff) provided you don't overdo the gain on the amp model or pedal, you should get decent results. The wah should be fine - but if it's also a treble boost again don't overdo the gain in your amp or you may get noise/feedback.
@shoekstra1419 Also, compression would work too. Actually since compression on the amp eats up your ability to use another effect, I'd easily add a compression pedal to the chain.
Hi there i have a bit of an issue about the VFS5 footswitch, in manual mode, channel 2 doesn't seem to scroll between the intervals of the pitch, i also made sure that the pitch effect isn't bypassed. can anyone tell me how this could be fixed? thanks i already posted on the vox focums but i decided to post it here just to maximise my chances of getting help. cheers.
@mxz670man I can't make the decision for you. What you buy is entirely up to you. Spend time trying these and other different amps to find what sounds & feels best to you, and has the features you need. You won't find the answer asking questions on youtube or forums.
Ian here on wifes computer, I've just bought a VT30 Valvetronix and love it, can you give me the exact settings for the ACDC sounds you were getting thanx.
@perthfem Glad you're enjoying your new VT30. 'My' VT was only a loan and (very reluctantly!) had to be returned so I can't give you any settings. But it used the VHT Pitbull (metal bull) model.
Hey great vid man i have a question. Im currently on a les paul standard plus. Im a 17 yr old lead guitarist tryna bring back rockn roll //hard rock. im currrently gigging around new york but i hate the sound that comes out of my cheap wal mart ibanez 30watt im thinking of upgrading to these babies and i have a slash lead guitar type playing and some really good hard rock riffs.. will this do the trick and bring out the real sound of the guitar?
@Jonnykt176 Hi jonny. I'd say the VT30 is more than capable of delivering what you need & is in a different league to your walmart amp. AND one of the amps modeled is the Slash Marshall Silver Jubilee! But I recommend you check it out yourself thoroughly to avoid disappointment (although I'd be surprised if you didn't love it). Also, keep your options open; the VT30 is great, but another super little modeling amp definitely worth trying out and comparing to the VT30 is the Laney Prism 35.
@oweeno123 All amps are electric or else they wouldn't work!! LOL. You mean are they valve or solid-state! These are hybrids; a mix of digital modeling in the pre-amp section & 12AX7 valve in the power-amp (not pre-amp) section utilising cleverly designed 'valvereactor' circuitry. Unlike other amps that use a valve to 'warm-up' tone in the preamp stage, by using the valve in the power amp stage you get the punch, warmth, response & touch sensitivity that's very close to an all-valve amp.
i had seen your videos a long time ago didnt have any idea who you were... Yesterday i bought a vt30 and started looking for some settings and things and found the site where you're known as voxman, still didnt have any idea who you were, until i clicked on a link in the forum and discovered who you were, You rock dude! thanks for the reviews!
@Voxman5 Thanks for replying voxman, the amp is great, tones are really good, only thing i noticed was this hiss coming from the amp when i played the lower pitch notes in my guitar. Its only noticeable at high volume levels and i think it may be produced by the vibration made by the lower notes (there's no hiss at all when i play the higher strings)... or maybe its the tube i dont know. Is that hiss normal? help me voxman! :D
@chuecco Sounds as if you might need to adjust the noise reduction. It won't be the tube. If not, then thoroughly clean all your jack sockets (these get oxidised, impairing the signal) especially headphone with electrical switch cleaner, & do a factory reset (see manual) just in case there's a minor software filepath corruption.
love your vids man! great feeling in your playing! as i see you like vox amps, does this amp gets the ac30 sound well ? do you know if it sounds good with pedals ? distortion or fuzz especially
@Guitarherochamp123 Sorry, but I had to (reluctantly) return the amp (as it was only a loan) & I don't recall, other than it was with the Metalbull model.
Hi Zerox155 - no can do I'm afraid, as the VT30 was only a loan and had to go back some time ago. However, it's not difficult - just use the Super 4x10 amp model I referred to.
Been playing with it for just over an hour, quiet a tidy amp in terms of style and size. For the price, it beats my old Marshall 50watt AVT50 (or something) which cost over twice as much.
Sounds great VOXMAN. I just got a Vox VT40+ valvetronics, I like it a lot. Can you suggest some good David Gilmour settings PLEASE? Thanks

What do you think about vt30+st combo?
manyaksi 1 year ago

PS: You rock :D
bouboulmen 1 year ago
@bouboulmen Yes, you have 8 user memory slots. You can save a clean tone with one amp model in one slot, and a higher gain amp model in another. Glad you thought the vid 'rocked' - thank you!

@Voxman5 Does the vox vt100 require a y cable voxman? -Thanks
joeyrotten101 1 year ago
@joeyrotten101 No, as it's a mono amp. Y cable is only for the stereo AD120 series amps.
Voxman5 1 year ago
@greengremlin43 You're very kind, thank you. Glad you liked the vid. The VT's have now been superceded by the VT+ . The equivalent of the VT30 is the VT40+ which is actually 60w RMS at full power. The VT+ also have improved speakers and a new pedal effect section that makes the amp even more versatile, and they're also a little lighter. Full details on the Vox main site. I recommend you go for the new version.
Voxman5 1 year ago
is this amp good with a squier affinity?? and is it suitable for the blues??
azrulshane 1 year ago
@azrulshane It's an amp - it's good for any guitar, any style with the possible exception of heavy nu-metal, as it doesn't model that type of tone.
Voxman5 1 year ago
I'm planning on buying an epiphone dot and this amp, is that a good combo,
I heading for a clean, jazzy sound, but I play all different styles.
fredgrohl 1 year ago
@fredgrohl The VT or the new VT+ are immensely versatile & will sound good with any guitar.
Voxman5 1 year ago
@Voxman5 Cool thanks for your reaction, but may i ask, what´s the difference between VT and VT+?
fredgrohl 1 year ago
@fredgrohl vt+ the new version. Check out the Vox site for details. In a nutshell key differences are 33 amp models (VT has 22), and a new pedal section, plus better speakers, a tuner and a few other improvements/features. The VT40+ is the replacement for the VT30.
Voxman5 1 year ago
@Voxman5 So if the Vt40+ is the followup for the VT30, I would assume it has 30 Watts, but, since it says 40, I would assume 40 it's got 40 watts, but on the Vox site, it says, it's got maximum 60 watts RMS @ 8 ohms, what is it?
fredgrohl 1 year ago
@fredgrohl Good question, don't know - I think Vox has confused everyone with their description. 40w RMS makes sense; I have no idea as to why they show it as having a 60w maximum.
Voxman5 1 year ago
@fredgrohl so If the Vt40 makes 40 watts, then, the vt20 will make 20, with 30 RMS, would that suffice for practicing and an occasional small stage performance?
I've also noticed that this amp has only a 3,5 mm headphone jack, which really suck, as my headphones have a 6mm jack. is it any good for recording audio, can you connect it directly with your pc, without the need of a mic or usb interface?
fredgrohl 1 year ago
Voxman your awesome, I have the vt-30 and it is a great amp. I was thinking about getting the new vt 120 plus that's just coming out, any chance you might do a review of that one?

fredgrohl 1 year ago
@fredgrohl well older vox amps are known for being unreliable. dont know about the newer ones, but I just never cared for vox much. they never had enough gain for me. I ended up picking up an AC30 instead of this valvetronics, Had it for less than a day, and traded it for a mesa. i may someday get a VT but the AC30 is supposed to be the holy grail of vox amps, and i just didnt like it. so probly not any time soon.
sjm98126 1 year ago
Yo Voxman. i read on your website that the Marshall amp models sound best with the eq maxed out. Does that mean treble/mid/bass all put to full?

dchim2 1 year ago
@dchim2 Different amps all react differently to different pedals. In theory, yes - but you should try different pedals to see what 'fits' best with the VT amps.
Voxman5 1 year ago
hey Rich,
sorry to bother you one last time, but i need a little bit of help. i love the UK 80's model for my classic rock, but i'm trying to get a more modern alternative sound, say like Green Day. the UK 90's model (Marshall JCM2000) is the closest i've come, but i noticed it gets pretty fuzzy, especially when i palm mute. i don't think there's any defects with the amp because all the other channels are fine, i was just wondering if there's any EQ settings you'd recommend or something thanks!
alithegreatest34 1 year ago
@alithegreatest34 Just experimentation I'm afraid. I recommend you go on forum to discuss tone, EQ etc.
Voxman5 1 year ago
@Voxman5 haha that's fine. thanks for the reply. i love how you really care for us when you don't have to.

Voxman5 1 year ago
hi, very nice demo, wich is the first riff you play?
roolpalacios 1 year ago
(continued) any help would be appreciated because i don't know if that's what should be happening. also i'm sure you've heard of the problems with volume jumping when changing from clean to distortion channels. I noticed that that only happens when switching from one of the AC30 models to the distortions. But when i use the Modded CL channel and switch, the problem disappears, so that's a remedy i've used. I would just like some input on my situation. Thanks!
alithegreatest34 1 year ago
@alithegreatest34 Some VT amps have this vol spike issue when switching between certain amp models; others don't. I don't know why this happens but there's no fix that I'm aware of & it appears to be a (albeit slight nuisance) amp characteristic.
Voxman5 1 year ago
Hey Rich,
I just got a Vox VT30 recently, and i'm still trying to find a good tone. (continued)
alithegreatest34 1 year ago
@alithegreatest34 The VT30 ishould be bright not dark, so I'm wondering if your jack sockets may be oxidised and your signal degraded (see FAQ maintenance thread on Valvetronix . net forum) - use electrical switch cleaner to clean ALL sockets (do your guitar input too), and try an amp reset too (in case there's a software file-path corruption). I'd also try a different make of guitar lead - leads can make a huge tonal difference.
Voxman5 1 year ago
@Voxman5 okay, i'll try the cleaning technique because i've reset it before. thanks for the reply!
alithegreatest34 1 year ago
did you use any pedal or effect or was that the amp only ? I'm looking to buy something in the price range of the VT30, but I'm hesitating between this and a Line 6 Spider IV 30w, which is almost same price and has lots of effects into it too, any advices ?
ahhgrrrrr 1 year ago
@ahhgrrrrr Amp only. There's enough VT FX options to keep most folk happy (See manual for details. You can load a pdf from the Vox site. There's lots of demos of the VT30's FX to hear inc. on the Vox site). If you want lots of bells & whistles but prepared to accept a digital tone, go Spider IV. If you want great valve tone, punch & feel with a useful selection of good onboard FX, go Valvetronix. There's simply no comparison tonally - try them side by side & let your ears be the judge.
Voxman5 1 year ago
morning, love the sound of the 1st setting, what reverb, and EQ settings did you use? now that I have a vt30 Im playing with everything and found one i really like so far, the AC30TB orange preset, niceeeeeeeee ;-)

Voxman5 1 year ago
Great Playing Dude :) Is it true that you can't plug pedals into this amp (distortion/overdrive/reverb)? Thanks
TheMusicShield 1 year ago
@TheMusicShield Thanks. No, it's not true. The VT's have a global reverb. If u use an external rvb just set the onboard reverb to '0'. Re o/d & distortion with ANY amp, the more pedals u add & the more distortion used, the muddier/noisier your tone can get. But used sensibly, decent pedals should sound good with the VT, but not all pedals suit all amps, & time-based FX (delays/modulations) are often best via an FX loop (Only VT100 has one; but mods available for others-see the forum for info)
Voxman5 1 year ago
I really enjoy your demos and playing, I agree you are a very talented guitarist, if you think so or not ;-) I tried one of these amps out today in the guitar shop, I was blow away! I first looked at a bugera v22, then this one, no friggin comparison at all, what a great amp for the money! It's on my to get list for sure........keep on rockin dude!
neohiomale1947 1 year ago
@neohiomale1947 - You're most kind, thankyou. To be fair, the Bugerv22 is a very nice amp but being all-valve amp it's quite different to something like the VT30 - each is aimed at quite different needs/markets. Of course the VT30 is tremendous bang for buck & a lot of fun to play - but ditto the v22, justin a different way, which is competing with amps like the AC15 or similar sized Fenders, for players who want a pure all-valve tone. Good luck, & enjoy whatever you go for.

@Brumyboi It was Rock 'n Roll from Led Zep IV (although I play the live version from their 1973 tour).

Keep it up. Good demos.
roland30x 1 year ago

Otherwise I have to upgrade to the 50 next week! ;-) Thanks again!
lollsan123 1 year ago
@lollsan123 The Valvetronix is perfect for covers. VT30 is beautifully compact & if miced up to a PA should be all you need. The VT50 is a little darker sounding with its 1x12" speaker but has more volume as you know. Glad you found the vid hepful & thanks for listening.
Voxman5 1 year ago
hows it react with pedals, for example i have a big muff and a dunlop wah, does it sound decent with them in you your experience ?
shoekstra1419 1 year ago
@shoekstra1419 Just a case of experimentation I'm afraid - but (re big muff) provided you don't overdo the gain on the amp model or pedal, you should get decent results. The wah should be fine - but if it's also a treble boost again don't overdo the gain in your amp or you may get noise/feedback.
Voxman5 1 year ago
@shoekstra1419 Also, compression would work too. Actually since compression on the amp eats up your ability to use another effect, I'd easily add a compression pedal to the chain.

Jonnykt176 1 year ago
@Jonnykt176 Hi jonny. I'd say the VT30 is more than capable of delivering what you need & is in a different league to your walmart amp. AND one of the amps modeled is the Slash Marshall Silver Jubilee! But I recommend you check it out yourself thoroughly to avoid disappointment (although I'd be surprised if you didn't love it). Also, keep your options open; the VT30 is great, but another super little modeling amp definitely worth trying out and comparing to the VT30 is the Laney Prism 35.
Voxman5 1 year ago
is this a tube or electric amp????
oweeno123 1 year ago
@oweeno123 All amps are electric or else they wouldn't work!! LOL. You mean are they valve or solid-state! These are hybrids; a mix of digital modeling in the pre-amp section & 12AX7 valve in the power-amp (not pre-amp) section utilising cleverly designed 'valvereactor' circuitry. Unlike other amps that use a valve to 'warm-up' tone in the preamp stage, by using the valve in the power amp stage you get the punch, warmth, response & touch sensitivity that's very close to an all-valve amp.

chuecco 1 year ago
@chuecco Sounds as if you might need to adjust the noise reduction. It won't be the tube. If not, then thoroughly clean all your jack sockets (these get oxidised, impairing the signal) especially headphone with electrical switch cleaner, & do a factory reset (see manual) just in case there's a minor software filepath corruption.
