  • Chills down my back

  • Why does this happen??? O.o How the heck do the eggs get into the caterpillar?!? O.o

  • @Goldenbird94 One way is for a parasitic wasp to lay its eggs in the caterpillar, by injecting them with its ovipositor. The eggs subsequently hatch parasitic larvae, which feast on the host.

  • @fermista No, I mean when you take the caterpillars off the bush to raise them like I do every time they're there. They still get parasites in some of them and it annoys me to have to chip out the yellow stuff. >.<

  • where those parasites or baby caterpillars???

  • Holy shit, wait what does that ,I think a hornet does something like that,it plants its eggs in the caterpillar

  • Yeah like, as much as I caterpillars and those disgusting god-forsaken critters, I must say that it's a pity to have such a... colorfull hting being eaten by maggets.

  • iz dat in yo house man... get the fuck rid of it

  • It's amazing how we have cameras that can get that close up.

  • Shoulda squished it to end its misery.

  • Their wasp/hornet larva. They are placed in their as little "Egglings" so that they can eat their way out when they hatch.

  • @iownmyhamster correct a most horrible way to die

  • @triscalamity MEDIC!

  • @700007123 my thoughts exactly XD but i think it's too late...

  • paracitic wasp lava

  • the funny part is, that the caterpillar will protect it by spraying it with its own web fabric. And then watch it for 2 days until it dies of starvation.

  • really, the caterpillar watches those guys?

  • @ra2yuri4

Well actually the larva is under something that you could call mind control. The invading stuff eat its brains or something. Sorry if that was just a joke.

  • @Juicedrinkz look it up, the mind control part is correct. But indeed, before the larva is eaten by it's invaders, it is still mind controlled into protecting them before it dies of starvation.

  • @ra2yuri4 yup cause of chemicals done 2 it by the parasites

  • my class got monarch catapillers and my teacher said the big one she said she like was seeing its heart beat then all of the suddan two maggot looking things burst out of it what are those? and dnow there are tiny green yellow with black spikes little round things are on the milk weed and they are moving what are thos too? plz some one awnser this

  • Some caterpillars have these little horn things that they can extend and retract, they're located on the back of their heads right? I honestly can't tell you what they are but I know exactly what you're talking about, my guess is they're antennae which they use to feel their way around? I really don't know but it used to freak my mom out, she hates caterpillars.

  • Plant life actually uses chemical signals to attract these parasites. When a plant is being eaten by a particular caterpillar, it uses pheromones to summon the one parasite that attacks the particular caterpillar host!

  • A christian caterpillar? Would the larvae go to hell for breaking the ten commandments? ;) Oh lol.

  • you mean like put it out of its misery and pain?

  • nah let die that way, so we can all spite religions.

  • oh thats a easier way of putting it...

  • woohoo! i come from sabah :D

  • where the hell do you find these things?

  • Omg. thats them giving birth?

  • I'm pretty sure it's wasp larva growing inside its body.

  • Ehh, not exactly. They're larva from another species eating the caterpillar inside out.

  • boomer bile!LOL

  • Rofl

  • i think those are from a parasitic wasp

  • yeah i saw it on that one show. it was a good show.

  • lol i'm jkjk too :P

Anyways.. Yes we know about that it's so weird to think that we may not actually be in control of our own bodies and the way we think. Also with the billions of bacteria that live on us and in us (they outnumber our own cells!) it's kinda scary and true..

  • gross!!!

  • is this for real?!

  • well if your talking about your crabs.... then yes we all know about that..

  • looks like a horror movie.. (shudder)

  • parasitoids are beneficial insect and their host are usually pests, so thats a good way to reduce them naturally

  • i usually hate caterpillars but i feel so bad for this one it looks like it's being eaten alive, what a horrible way to die!

  • caterpillar thoughts must be like: ohh god this sucks /wait and die.

  • nom nom caterpillar insides. the cat was probably dead by that point ( OK , maybe twitching slightly) besides, they dont feel pain like mammals, it was probably wondering why it was giving birth to maggots of a nasty parasitic wasp !

  • no, they live for a while like tthat, after the maggots eat their way out, the caterpilllar spins a cocoon around them and gaurds them till they're done metamorphosing. it only dies in the end from starvation, since it doesnt eat while it gaurds the cocoon

  • yep, watch Body Invaders. It should be in the related videos.

  • they shud let it out of its pain and kill the poor catterpillar

  • omg that is so discusting.

  • that's so nasty, i wanna throw up

can you think if people got infected with those

(like a finger or something) i would chop my finger off,......seriously, that's one of the nastiest things i've ever seen

  • Never judge a caterpillar by its top. Check both sides before consuming.

  • Holy cow my god

  • hmm im viewer 10,000 ya me

  • ew dude fucking gross!

    poor thing =(

but god that makes my skin crawl...and every time i see something like this makes me all
