Absolutely beautiful. A gorgeous voice from a gorgeous woman. Her voice is more than gorgeous, it is hauntingly beautiful and completely memorizing.

Give her a beautifully and well written song and she will turn it into a masterpiece.

The only other singer I can think of who could compare to Tarja vocally is Lisa Gerrard.

Yes, people do. All kinds of people to be honest. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and here we have a heavy Asian community, young Filipinos and Vietnamese make that mistake all the time but also some non-Hispanic white folks can fall for that. It's sad and then try to educate them by telling them that it's a European language and they get really confused.
