Impressive, I recently bought a iMac, 27inch, i7 Quad 3.4GHz, 4GB Ram and AMD Radeon 6970 series 1024mb , I want to upgrade ram but really want a SSD, it sucks that Apple will not touch it, but need somebody to do this for me, know a few places, wouldn't wanna touch something I spent like 2G on and then end up breaking or damaging it, bloody Apple :(
Is this the model with the Thunderbolt ports in the back? I bought mine in September 2011, but I'm not sure if this is the exact same one. I'm a DIY guy, and I would totally take this on.
@briantobey Brian, really appreciate your stopping by. Your guide was instrumental in me even deciding to do this, let alone actually do it. Amazing detail on that guide, and I thank you a lot for giving me the confidence to pull it off. I linked the guide on this channel and on our post on iDownloadBlog, so hopefully you get some decent traffic from it. Thanks again. As far as camera, it's a 60D; everything is stock, no lighting adjustments, I just have a few good work lamps.
i took apart my canon EFS17-85mm lens a few weekends ago to perform a cable repair inside. was also a similarly daunting procedure! but nice when you see the end result :).
wow so daunting, seems worth it though! that thing effin wizzed the boot sequence!!! the mac boot is pretty quick to begin with. On a side note the heat management is amazing considering
Lol how is this shocking people. It's Mac, the word easy and Mac never are used together lol. Glad it only took me 5 mins real time to install my two OCZ Vertex 3's in raid lol
Don't see why people are arguing about PC's, the iMac is an AIO so obviously its going to be more strenuous to add an SSD. I'm sure it wouldn't be this difficult on an Mac Pro for example. :-)
I remember a few months ago I watched your one of your videos sand just now that I'm figuring that your not caucasian. sorry but you sound like a white guy :)

Honestly, I considered buying an iMac, but I don't think I'm ever going to. :/
Seriously, if I ever want to upgrade my HDD, I'll either have to buy an entirely new machine, or do this. That's bullshit. An iMac? Never.

@Tr1pTr0p or you could just go to the Apple Store, but nah you're way to lazy, you know it.

@FourXeroTwo ...lazy if i don't want to spend hundreds of $ on a plane ticket to fly hundreds of kilometers to the nearest apple store? makes sense.
the nearest apple reseller is 200 kilometers from my place.
