It is not surprising that Phelps abused his children, and biblically, this is what is known as "bad fruit." I used to hate Fred Phelps. I used to want to hurt Phelps and his family in the slowest and most violent way possible.
But now...
The hate has dissipated. I no longer hate him.
I pity him.
I feel sorry for him. He will never know true love from his family, or his friends, or anyone else. He can only know anger. His friends and family only stay with him because they are afraid of him.
