  • What is that red guitar in the background? I've only seen that body shape and pickup configuration once elsewhere

  • Why on earth unscrew the entire clip assembly just for the microphone?

  • EXPERT VILLAGE SUCKS!

    oh wait...

  • lol.....that consender mic is a terminator...

  • u right i didnt thought about it

  • this guy is almost as good as expert village

  • OMG this is so much easer than just take it out of the clip......

  • OK can you just go over that once more please...

  • lol everyone thinks "oh this is soooo obvious" but i'm sure there are idiots out there who don't know what they're doing and constantly dropping mics.

  • Howaudio Fucking sucks !!!

  • can you show us how to breathe next?

  • thanks!! It's quite important !!

  • Some of these people responding don't realize that despite how obvious this tip seems, yet there are a lot of stupid people out there who never figure out how to do it right, especially those getting started in audio. The same goes for powering down speakers first, and powering them up last, turning down the channel when the guitarist unplugs his cable, and there's a right and wrong way to wrap cables... oh don't get me started. All this stuff is important if you're gonna be a pro.

  • Here's another tip Dont poke yourself in the eye with your fork.

And another Dont slam your fingers in a car door .

and another ... ahh you get the picture .

this guy should be on expert villiage .

  • with tips like that no wonder its not up anymore

  • dumbest shit ever.

  • Wow this sounds like a job for... Captain Obvious!!

  • does howaudio exist anymore. i can find the websight

  • i found this video very useful. come on this man knows a great skill!

  • dont drop the mic ... especially when you are lip-syncing a playback...

  • I agree. I think I would walk off stage if that happened to me. Embarrassing.

  • uhhhhh... thanks a lot man, i had my mic on my stand for over 2 weeks now, nobody wanted to show me how to take it off... thanks!

  • i was wondering if it's good to drop it or not, thanks!

  • Nice, totally do that

  • Well it's a good tip, I guess most people can't afford breaking to many mic's... perhaps unless you're already a rock star ;)

  • next weeks lesson -how to operate a light switch!

  • Great tip for engineers and artists. Work smart not hard.

  • would have been funnier if he accidentally dropped the mic

  • ye man nice tip! did u shoot JR cuz u know more than you should HMMM...

  • pizdec fishka :)))

  • omg ur the man thanks!!!!!!!!!

  • Or you can just plan ahead and cover a 30 foot radius around the base of the mic stand with blankets, packing peanuts and very soft flowers. In this business you must think ahead!!!

Great little tip that is probably overlooked every day in every studio around the world... except mine - of course!

Thanx Rog... can I call you Rog??? Like in "Rodge"??? :)

  • can i drop my cellphone?is good?

  • This is important for condenser mics and ribbon mics, but for the mic in this video(SM57) a drop won't do any damage. Those things are tough as hell!

  • Agreed. Poor use of prop. A 57 can be fired through a cannon and still sound great on a gtr cab. Ideally, take the mic off the clip first.

  • revolutionary stuff here, haha j/k, nice tip
