  • Bodie was my favourite character

  • Bodie was my favorite character... he went out like a soldier

  • the dummy should of ran

  • Bodie was a soldier and died like one you can't ask more from a person

RIP BODIE you were THE WIRE

  • Just don't ask me to live on my fucking knees, you know?

  • only i feel sorry for Sobotka,Omar,Wallace and D'Angelo

  • Bodie definitely deserved death, because he kill in cold blood his friend Wallace.I dont buy that he was forced from Stringer,he could told him to fuck off and tell him to find somebody else to do it.I am sorry for D Angelo,he tried to save him and was good person

  • I like how he refers to that chess scene in season one with D'Angelo. RIP Bodie.

This is what makes this show great, gritty realism. They get you used to characters and then kill them off with no warning, although you always kind of see it coming. It's sad but realistic.

  • he deserved death because he killed Wallace.fuck him,i think that 50 % niggers of Baltimore deserve death

  • @zadarman11 Bodie didn't want to kill Wallace, he was ordered to by Stringer. If Bodie refused then Stringer would've assumed Bodie was weak and therefore likly to snitch. Bodie would've been killed as well as Wallace. Also he may have thought it was better Wallace die by a friend's hand rather than some stranger.

  • @OldKingClancy dummy! he did wanna kill wallace! he didnt like him. they gave u all kinds of hints dumb ass! it was POOT who didnt wanna kill wallace, hince the tears out his eyes when they did it!

  • @javonpython Why would Bodie want to kill his friend? He told Wallace to 'be a man' because if he saw Wallace as a child - which he was - it would've been so much harder to kill him. Also if Poot didn't want Wallace dead why did he push Bodie to do it then finish the job himself.

  • @OldKingClancy you fucking asswipe! they were talking about it, bodie said "we either do it, or step the fuck off" bodie didnt like wallace! poot did! i didnt like wallace either! as a drug dealer. it's ok to be weak, but dont get in the game if u know u dont have any nuts! he didnt have any! so he got his issue!

  • @javonpython 1: 'Step the fuck off' was Bodie saying either we kill him or we'll be killed. 2: Wallace didn't GET into the Game he, like so many young drug dealers, ended up there because of their impoverished lifestyle. With no future that's the only way to earn some money.

  • i fucking miss bodie man...

  • Thanks Obama for fixing all the problems THE WIRE pointed out. Now Americas all better. Now all this horrible shit isnt happening anymore. Except every second including this current second it is.

  • @ravenouscolonelhart

Dude are you serious? The guy's not a magician, nobody is. Nobody can fix this problem overnight. Even if somebody finds a solution to it, it will take at least entire generations before you can see a real change.

  • I knew somethin was gonna happen. Its like when Wallace got Murdered by bodie .

  • I still don't know who shot him. It def wasnt mike, snoop or chris

  • @h4z it was O-Dogg that killed Bodie. O-Dogg was another hitman trained by Chris and Snoop.

  • @charlestonchewy nice, thanks for clearing it up

  • Bodie matured, saw how horrible his life was and wanted out... but in the end he couldn't change his soldier mentality. he wanted out, but in a honorable way.

  • tha greatest scene ever on tv classic

  • You see what happen to Bodie in the Wire for talkin to McNulty -Uncle Murda-

  • FUCK BODIE, HE KILLED WALLACE!!!!!

  • @killahking8 and? wallace was weak! didnt know the streets well enough! if you dont know shit about the game, dont get in it! play by the rules! it was very necessessary that he got knocked off!

  • This scene made Bodie my favorite character on the wire.

  • SPOILERS ;)

Bodie was also a psycho - he killed this kid Wallace, friend, with Poot. I liked him and was a bit sad when they killed him, but he was a killer and drug pusher. I regret that Marlo just retired. Someone should kill him with the nail gun, very slowly.

  • @RadekOzzy85

He wasn't a psycho. A psycho would've enjoyed killing Wallace. Bodie was fucking terrified and you know he felt like shit for what he had to do. Poot is the one that kept pushing him when he was reluctant.

  • @Subartimaeus ur fucking dumb! go watch the 1st season again asshole! bodie didnt like wallace to begin with. he was the one trying to convince poot to do it! he wanted wallace dead the whole time! didnt u hear him? "why you pissin yoself? stand up! be a man" then shot him what looks to be with no remorse!

  • @javonpython

You blow your father with that mouth? No need to throw out insults kiddo.

He did say that, but that was just him trying to sound cocky and brave while it was clear he was disturbed by it all. And what on Earth do you mean he was trying to convince Poot to do it? Watch Wallace's death scene again properly before you start getting your panties in a bunch. Bodie hesitates, and Poot eggs him on.

  • @Subartimaeus he was stalling to kill him, but he wanted the nigga dead u asshole! couldnt u tell by the conversation he was having with wallace at mcdonalds earlier! poot was crying, he didnt want wallace dead , he was justb affraid of what might happen to him by stringer if they didnt kill him u asswipe

  • shit man i died

  • a snitch

  • saddest part of the whole wire this was we got to know and love bodie he was a real soldier and the part with 'mcnutty' before is absolute class

  • saddest bit for me

  • Bodie was the man... That dude was smart, watching him grow up from a pup in Season 1 to a man, it's a shame that the game caught up to him

  • just saying if i was poot i wouldnt have ran off i wouldve stayed there with my gun and made sure i had bodies back b cuz chris and snoop neva had guns they were diversions and waited till bodie was alone and then o-dog went in for the kill

  • @LMAN5150 Poot didn't have a gun, otherwise I think he would have hold it down with Bodie on the corner, that's why Bodie tapped him on the shoulder and was like "going on without me, I got to fight this battle alone"

  • Bodie was a true soldier, he kept his corner strong. He is what you need to run that kind of operation.

  • Bodie could have been as big as Marlo if he wanted to.He was just a team player aint to many out like Bodie a throwback gangster.

  • What a great show, so close to reality, and it shows how things really are.

  • did anyone else get the pawn reference from season 1 here? when d explains chess to wallace and bodie in season 1, he points out that pawns can only move forward and attack diagonally. if you notice in the shootout, bodie only fires his gun diagonally left and right at snoop and chris. this show is brilliant !

  • @tparanjpe45 that is very interesting you said that because when you think about it, no one is going to let you get a straight shot on them. They're going to always be moving diagonally to avoid you. Bodie's attention was diverted diagonally and thats when odog got close on Bodie for the straight shot

  • @tparanjpe45 Wow great reference didn't see that. This is y I think it's the best TV show EVER

  • @tparanjpe45 yea and then he gets shot in the head twice just like on chess too :O oh wait..

  • Bodie looks like a ninja turtle....

  • Comment removed

  • WHAT IS GOOD SHOW,, POWERFUL HOW HBO WHEN ARE U PUTTING TOGETHER SHOW GOOD DOUG WOULD HAVE LOVE THIS SHOW BIGGS

  • Cylburn is such a well kept secret I was shocked when I saw this episode

  • Bodie a true soldier, should of learned more from string and true game player

  • died alone like a soldier too bad that means SHIT

  • "game is rigged man, we like them lil bitches on a chessboard" how true that is about all of life

  • Did Michael kill Bodie?

  • @LeBronForTheWin I never notice that until now damn Michael really turned bad

  • @msstrawberries02 my bad actually O-Dog got Bodie not Mike

  • @LeBronForTheWin it wasn't Mike??

  • @OcelotDAD No it would be hard for Mike to put down someone he knew and worked with as his first body. It's OD for sure, I think Chris and Marlo talk about it shortly after this and they mention OD I believe

  • Bodie was a great character.. one 1 the trueest G's on the show, he respected things being done proper, not the Marlo chaos way of just cappin any1 who looked the wrong way

  • The sad part is the corner. Poot and Spider run. As Bodie said the game is rigged, he couldnt rely on even his crew when it turned to crap to back him up on the corner. Pity he didnt have insight to Michael or someone else to be a hitter for him.

  • Considering how Bodie was in the first season it is amazing how they made him so sympathetic towards the end of the series. The scene where he finds out his friend little Kevin is dead from Slim Charles and the camera pans away from him standing alone on his corner is just tear wrenching.

  • all i got to say i love this show...i love the realism of this show..i love how it shows whats really going on..i love how it show both sides of everything.. its like it fix all the fake rumors of ganster mentality..it shows how people end up being psycotic..fo rall the true fan of this i hope it made them all open there eyes..because this is whats going on today

  • amzing i almost cry when he died you expect him to run away but hes a solider and stands tall

  • Bodie was G and I hated when he got killed....he followed the code to the T...yea he was dope dealer but he still had some kinda ethical cover over his character....I miss The Wire

  • what i dont understand is why didnt spider n poot help...im pretty sure they had guns too..poot showed how loyal he is..so did spider..they some weak niggas..

  • game is just a Euphemism for stupidity!

  • the wire is based on events that happen in i believe the mid 80's early 90's. i like this scene because bodie is complaining about how things have changed. barksdales were pretty much what is was then in the early days and marlo is an example of how things have transfered to what it is now. the brutality and the codes have changed for the worse. OH and anyone get the chess reference from the first season with D?

  • I didn't believe my eyes the first time I saw this, just like when Omar died.

  • bodiee went out like a g

  • I usually don't like when in movies or TV shows they call gangsters or drug dealers "Soldiers" it kinda devalues what real soldiers are. In this case though Bodie in the fucked up world he lived in really was like a soldier. He followed orders selflessly , followed the chain of command, and was loyal to his corner and comrades to the end and when shit happened he didn't run with the rest of them, he defended his post (corner) defiantly to the end.

  • You don't know how much I cried when this happen, after 30 minutes of this I was still cryin.

  • What really gets to you about The Wire. Is the fact that likable characters get killed by likable characters. Read through all the youtube comments on The Wire vids. *Spoilers for those who never seen all the seasons* You'll find the same people crushed by the death of Wallace by Bodie. All feel sad to see Bodie killed by Michael (I believe). Stringer getting killed by Omar. And on and on. Its like damn....the good ones are crossing everyone out. But hey..Its all in the game..

  • I don't get why his friend left him, they should of thought together. .

  • fuckin mcnulty

  • best line of the wire

  • "Your a soldier bodie" HELL YEA

  • I was sad to see Bodie go, especially after he had his eyes opened to what was really what. He should have just broke camp...

  • atlease bodie didnt go down with out a fight

  • damn...if poot had his gun..bodie would of had a better chance

  • You a soldier Bodie. Hell Yeah

  • When Bodie dies I cry a lot, he is a great character.

  • Bodie is the best fucking character ever

  • @jackfenderrox Bodie, Stringer and Slim Charles!

  • @TheBrrraaaah Slim charles yes!

But stringer no, as Avon said "I bleed red, you bleed green"

  • Another thing I noticed about this season was how McNulty kept giving Bodie compliments on his intelligence. The only time Bodie was ever acknowledged on his ability was if he put in work once in a while for String and Avon. McNulty was probably the only one who really gave Bodie props for his smarts, something he didn't get anywhere else.

  • @NicolasYates because the game doesn't care about what you are personally, it's only cares for what you can give to the game. but when we really get to sit down and converse on a personal level, you let the game go in those moments and really understand eachother, not just the role they portray in life. Cop and a Gangster, or Man to Man? If we hadn't allowed life to become an issue of where the next meal was coming from, We could build a better future.

  • @NicolasYates Hey it's Mr Entrapment!!

  • @NicolasYates Marlo: 'You a right young hussla' - Nah he has been admired before

  • @ichater yea avon and stringer bell gave him props

  • The beauty of this scene is that they both recognize how fucked up their institutions can be, despite the fact that their worlds are different.... McNulty was trapped by the codes and guidelines of being a police, and despite his prowess as a detective, he still had to adhere to his position...Bodie stayed loyal to his position, yet he still got fu**ed over in the end....it was almost as if they were being led by forces beyond their control, but had to play the game nontheless.....CLASSIC.

  • @NicolasYates opposite side of the same coin. our society commands that there can't be one side without the other. if we design and implement a world without criminals, there would be no need for police. No police, we self destruct and evil prevails. Each element thrives off of the other. and capital sustains the whole thing.

  • @tripleoent Beautifully phrased comments here.

  • This is one of the scenes that absolutely makes the show....Bodie and McNulty: two opposite sides of the game, sitting in a peaceful park in the middle of the chaos of West Baltimore....Not having any problems. For that moment, two having a discussion like grown ass men, not on some petty shit....The beauty of this scene is, despite their roles in the game, they both share some familiarity of the struggle of just making it day to day...

  • anyone notice how bodie and poot seemed to be more calmer as they got older bodie wasnt the loud mouth over reacting nigga he was in the first couple of seasons and mike did not kill bodie but to all the smart people on here, dont even waste your time arguing with idiots over something that can be proven in 2 minutes via google or hbo site

  • I think deep down Bodie wanted to die. He killed Wallace for snitching and felt that it was only right that he suffer the same consequence. He was clearly disillusioned with life.

  • "I feel old" - great line, all the more poignant from a character who has made a point of appearing invulnerable.

  • Marlo changed up the rules when he became the big man on campus, and Bodie was the only one dumb enough to keep playing by the old rules. Which is why he is my hero. I have a feeling he could have been a pretty decent soldier after he got older and hardened a little bit. When he killed Wallace he seemed a bit hesitant, but in his later years he could have fit nicely in the Barksdale organization, back when the Game was truly the Game

  • y is it even a discussion of who it was that killed bodie if u watch the show chris clearly says 2 marlo after marlo suggest mike do it that quote he USE 2 WORK 4 HIM HIS 1st time had 2 BE SUMONE HE DIDNT NO and they dont ven look alike it kinda insulting

  • @hamsterdam92 and @EastBayStandUp you're blowin' my mind.Bodie grew to be one of my faves...HATED him in the first couple seasons, but when Barksdale and Stringer fall and he wasn't kin to anybody, just a "Cutty" type if you will...a soldier.its crazy that thats all he knew...one of the most powerful moments on the show was when Poot and Bodie just looked at each other for the last time on the corner, when Bodie realizes he wasn't gonna make it to the other end of the chessboard. love.this.show

  • Mcnulty's respects Bodie alot in the end, just the way he sais ''your a soldier Bodie''. And he deserves respect. Somehow I saw his end comming with this scene, but I hated it when it happend. At least he went out standing like the man he was.

Fuck Marlo Stanfield, and fuck season five without Bodie.

  • damn rip bodie my nigg he was a real nigga

  • I think there was comment that observed this on another Bodie death video but did the shot which opens and closes the first scene remind anyone else of a chess board? There's a king statue at one end, likely been there for a while being a statue and all("king stay the king"), and it dwarfs Bodie, the pawn, who's a good distance away. Even the various shades of the grass/pebbles/whatever remind me of the different colored squares on a chessboard. Or perhaps im over-analyzing.

  • @hamsterdam92 i think you are dead on with your observation. scenes are mapped out and designed long before they hit the screen so i would say that this was an accurate description.

  • @hamsterdam92 yeah, i saw this also, and they way chris and snoop approached bodie were like bishops diagonally attacking the pawn and then michael walked up killed bodie then continued in an L pattern like a knight would in chess. the wire is an incredible piece of literature

  • @EastBayStandUp WOW dude, you are right on with the "L" pattern that Odog walks in to kill and away from the kill. Same with the bishops, I'm guessing they were coming from opposite directions from his corner. Again, really good observation, I'm going to pretend it's my own lol.

You too hamsterdam, respect on your king statue observation.

  • @hamsterdam92

you sir are very observant. That's really good analysis.

  • Awww... Bodie he along with D'Angelo their deaths hurt because they was so young and just got tired of how the game was always against them man it hurt to see Bodie go that way I can never like Marlo, Chris, and Snoop because of this McNulty was right he was a soldier a better one than Marlow's bitch ass crew hated that SOB

  • If Bodie was a real character, O-Dogg woulda been got.. Marlo woulda been got as soon as word got to the street that Marlo was out, not by no gangstas but from the people!

  • Damn this argument has been going on for a while......Michael didn't kill Bodie it was O-Dog the one that told Bodie when he agreed to take Marlos package not to mess with Marlos money.....Chris even said in an episode that Michaels first kill can't be someone that he knows....

  • It's just the fact that both O-Dog and Michael Lee are light-skinned that had them confused lol

  • bodie still alive, o dog missed

  • "SHIT IS ON!"

  • Dude, oh my gosh, people are so damn evil!

  • bodie's death hit me the hardest. He represented loyalty and rode till the very end. A quality that is lacking in today's world. He went out standing tall, even when there was no chance of survival he didn't run. A real soldier. (also, I don't know why everyone thinks that it was not Michael that killed Bodie. Anyone who watched the training scene with Mike, Snoop, and the other guy, Mike was taught to put a final shot in the head once the target is down. And if you pause it you can see his face

  • @meatisdaman Michael did not kill bodie. It was the cat that was being trained in the woods when the were unloading on the cans and bottles.

  • Comment removed

  • @yuantien10 i have every season, not to mention i saw every episode when it was on HBO, not to mention i've freeze framed that exact scene and cut scenes out to put on youtube. Just take my word for it. If Micheal would have killed Bodie, the writers would have made it a known fact. Michael wasn't even in the car when setup began. Snoop & Chris used the new recuit to kill Bodie as an initiation.

  • @tripleoent Yup, just did my research, you're right. It did look a lot like Michael though.

  • @yuantien10 its O -DOGG cant u tell!!!!!!!

  • @thishaterzz It was O-Dogg my friend. It was clearly stated that Snoop and Chris did not want Michael's first hit to be someone he knew. Go back and listen to the dialogue.

  • @tripleoent

And David Simon (the writer) said in the commentary on the DVD that it was not Michael.

  • @tripleoent ppl are dumb i dont kno how many tiumes i see comments sayin micheal killed him but bodie my fav character fuckin soldier

  • @tripleoent you are right

  • @thishaterzz michael didnt kill bodie

  • @thishaterzz Michael did not kill Bodie, it was that punk O-Dogg..

Bodie was a loyal soulja, even Mcnulty respected him.

  • "JUST DON'T ASK ME TO LIVE ON MY FUCKIN KNEES!!"! He got older and he understood what the message was when D'angelo taught him and Wallace how to play chess! CLASSIC

  • you a soulder bodie............HELL YEA

  • it do suck how bodie died n everything but still he did kill wallace n everything

  • Lets remember that bodie did kill Wallace in season one for the exact same thing he was killed for: talking to police. Bodie got what he deserved. I did not shed a tear when he got dropped. I guess what goes around comes around. You all need to remember this the next time you all want to cry when ever someone gets dropped on the show. They are all dirty!

  • McNulty- Your a solider Bodie

    Bodie- Hell Yeah

Best two lines in the whole series

  • Maaan, Bodie was my favorite character. Loyal to the game, kept it G til' the end. He saw the game was unfair, n suffered the consequences. You get to much outside the box, the closer to truth u get, u suffer the consequences. o yea, Fuck Marlo, i wished Omar popped his ass.

  • Bodie. Not too bright, but heart to the end. Damn shame about Wallace, though.

  • Died with the sword in his hand.

  • the 2 head shots was real as fuc

  • This was sceen hit hardest second to the closing sceen in the series. Bodie held his ground and went down fighting. He was so loyal, he died hustling for the niggas trying to kill him. He ain't a dummy for that, he loyal and he held his own.

  • my fav scene in the entire series.

  • Who shot Bodie? Michael or O-Dog?

  • @misterrightuk

    o dog

  • @misterrightuk It's hard to make out. It was some nigga hiddin in a vaccant. He walked out in the dark behind bodie and blew his head off while bodie was focused on the people shooting at him from his front.

  • Bodie was hard like that. A real solider.

  • I felt so bad for Bodie, kid had a soul not like the son of a bitch Marlo and he died JUST because HE HAD A SOUL. When Wallace been shot I felt a little depressed but i know it wasn't personal, it's the game, buisness goes first.

  • one of the best scenes in the show

  • It's sad to see Bodie die, but The Wire wouldn't be what it is if he didn't. Fact of the matter is the good and the bad "get got" as they say. The game is rigged, just like Bodie and Mrs. Daniels said. "But you cannot lose if you do not play".

  • a real nigga

  • At least he went down standin up.

  • Watch this and all the wire seasons at thewireseason[dot]com

  • poot was to scary for me he stayed lil while and he shouldve shot with his home boi man marlo a flaw nigga and he was the last man standing but glad slim charles became king because marlo was a bitch only murder he done was devon because he probably wouldve wife her but she was avon bitch so he took it personal but bodie was a real nigga he shuldve been a right hand man for the top nigga but them other niggas to stupid to realize his potential but avon was locked up and stringer died so he done

  • Poot bitch ass ran on em'....fucked up

  • Amazing how we watched his character mature & develop from the cocky smart ass angry know it all he was in S1 to the intelligent loyal calmer more intutive Bodie we see here

Bodie was at his breaking pt. the world he once knew was gone and he'd suffered all he could take he wanted to do right for a change

His n Wallace Death were the saddest

cuz we all saw it coming but we aint wanna believe it

    Bodie waz a tru soulja

  • Hell Yea...And If You Pay Attention..In Season 1 When Deangelo Wuz Teachin Em How To Play Chess..Bodie Wuz DETERMINED to become the king...but he finally realized dat he wuz jus a Pawn In All Dis Shit

  • I think Wallace was the saddest character to go of the original project boys for me.

Bodie had a thuggish dip in his style after Wallace was tagged but matured when he got sick of being a street dealer for the five seasons.

  • this aspect of the game is so much like life

  • yup, the part where your conscience tries to persuade you to do whats right as opposed to whats routine. at some point, you get tired of being apart of the problem and you want to do something right for a change

  • yeah definitely a good point... i feel that its that way with your boys as well, there only around when its usually somehow benefiting them too, but when they know you have proven your friendship and loyalty to them in the past and times are rough, then they aint standing by your side or pledging their allegiance to you

  • THats life. When it comes down to it its every man for himself. Remember dat

  • I really dont post shit on the computer too much. I been lookin at alot of the wire videos and this nigga JRilla1879 is da most dumbest square I ever seen. I can tell you never been in da street the way you run your trap. prolly never been to jail never shot never sold. watch the shows again. the loudest is always the weakest lil youngin. and u the fuckin loudest. you even type loud. niggas like you fuck it up fpr real niggas. if you ever do time, that would teach you to shut the fuck up.....

  • @KamD450

this is one of the best youtube comments ive read in my life

  • You're a soulja Bodie. RIP.

  • all said, that was the saddest hit on the show for me.

  • i feel old

  • Bodie was getting fed-up I think he wouldve start talking to the cops just because marlo was a shaddy dude. you heard what he said I do what i gotta. That means turn a nigga in. marlo was a low life.

  • What about Wallace, fuckface? Remember who killed him, with Poot?

  • Thefuck? I mean Bodie took care of wallace's case, he just protected barksdale's interests, so he gangsta, and knew better than anybody what the family was about. Marlo? That bitch just came when everything was already fucked for dem Barksdales, and took all dem corners. He made Little Kevin murdered, without him being a snitch at all. Bodie was just pissed to be under that bitches command, seeing his niggas around his corners, and seeing his friends getting killed for no reason whatsoever.

  • After Stringer's death and Avon's incarceration, it all fell to pieces, and neither Bodie nor Slim Charles had the muscles to build up a strong enough organisation to take over Marlo's one. Bodie would've been killed just after having the thought of doing such thing. The only thing he could do was being loyal to his corners, to death. What he did, as a true soldier.

  • wallace didnt deserve it but he did bring it onto himself to an extent

  • Bodie killed him for snitchin nd leavin town

  • thats what make this show so great, it had characters that you love to hate, hate to love and the bad guys win sometimes
