A really poorly made review. Waste of my time. Brandon should have scripted out his points beforehand instead of stumbling along. He doesn't even mention "Speech to text", which may be the biggest improvement in this release.

trying to decide between this, the nexus one, and the iphone 3gs. With the 2.1 update, i consider the nexus one and droid pretty even now, except for looks.

I think i'll end up getting the iphone, but i do really like the droid.

you should get the nexus one. it's better for many reasons including you get the full featured android experience right when google releases the next update. with the droid you have to wait a while before verizon issues the update itself. plus it works on almost any network you have

because its not out yet. any videos you see with moto droid version 2.1 are all ROMs.. meaning not offcial from verizon. you have to do a bunch of stuff to get these ROMs its up to you if you want to or just wait for the official update to come out.

They said that the update was going to happen Feb 10th 2010 ask you can see still nothing yet and the they took off the posting date off some of the forums and certain websites all they saying is soon and be patient! Which make it hard since we have a heads up what to be expecting for the huge update. I don't know why people put up or give false information get people excited for nothing!!!

It is beautiful widgets, HOWEVER, they updated it and changed it. They specifically tell you that if you dont want to change the icons, then dont update it. Which is what i did.

Do you get a lot of force closes with Home++? I do. It's an awesome app and I love it (other than the FC's). I actually went into settings and increased it to 7 home screens.

Motorola will be releasing a 2.1 update for the Droid in the near future which will also include Flash 10 support. This was a great glimps of the update on this phone, but it's really not worth the risk of bricking your droid just to get a half-copy of something that's on its way.

2.0.1 Improved the camera greatly, the speed change and auto focus revamp from 2.0 to 2.0.1 was extremely noticeable (and welcomed).

it wasnt available in 2.0 or 2.0.1 but you could do that in the alternative home apps like panda home and a few others

I wasn't referring to this video specifically, I see it with a lot of my friends phones. When they flick through contacts, it's not a smooth scroll like my enV Touch has, and their phone is supposed to be a "smart phone" while the enV Touch is not.

Well you're EnV is not a smartphone. It cannot run apps or have the interface changed in any way.

I'm sure a stock iPhone or Android device wiith no apps installed will blow away the enV.

If you knew anything at all about processes phones run, you would know that your EnV can't run things in the background. My DROID can run internet, stocks, a phone call, text messaging, twitter,amazon, Bank of America app, GPS, Facebook, Myspace, Music , and my security app at the same time. tell me your enV can even attempt to do that. Your comparing your phone by how it scrolls through contacts? Thats the only thing it's doing. I would be suprised if it couldn't do it smoothly.

ok the first way you phrased it , it sounded like a comparison of which is better.sorry for the attack. its not that the enV has a better physics engine, but that the enV has more free memory to just run the contacts list. Im not sure if phones have a "real" physics engine. but i know what your talking about. My Dare had pretty smooth contact scrolling but once i got to the internet it was so busy processing other things the scroll would become choppy.
