Just found a website. Haven't noticed it before so I reckon it must be pretty new. Just looks like an intro page or something at the moment. Don't think I'm allowed to post the address on here, but it's pretty obvious.
Fucking Awesome! Saw this band 30 times or more. On a good day - simply untouchable. Shame that the sound on the video stuff is kind of crappy, as the main thing from probably 90% of the gigs for me was the take-yer-face-off guitar sound that a whole bunch of bands then picked up on. Yes, they started off sounding like (and playing with) Discharge, but they certainly moved it all on to a different level (and may be single handedly responsible for the state of my ears nowadays). They were LOUD.
@phillymat I always suspected that there was a harder side to George’s personality so thanks a lot for bringing me up to speed on his Punk activities. Nicole Scherzinger lead singer with the Pussycat Dolls, used to front an all girl Crust group called the Crowbar Cunts, from Cleveland Ohio. Unfortunately she was spotted by Malcolm McLarren and then pursued a Glam Pop direction.
...yes...I have fond (?) memories of getting slapped in the face by swinging dredds watching this band in Southampton and having to sleep in the station waiting to get home to Manchester the next day!!! Good band though.
I agree. Some of the mid 80s 'anarcho' stuff was fantastic. For nihilistic, I'm not sure one can beat John from A.Y.S. Apparently he had that down to an art. Well, before he became a nazi, apparently... :/
Out From The Void, Part II - such a great song, along with Part I on the other side of the vinyl!, its a shame they never finished the next album great video!
totalstranga is a rod. He is the type that thinks anarchy is about violence.Carry on taking orders and listening to mind numbing violence promoting hip hop, totalstranga. You should change your tag to totaldickhead.
Out From The Void PT II is the one I heard the most. What I do know is that it is one of the best songs out of this century. Anyone know were I can find the lyrics?
Got anything from the "In darkness..." LP? It's a classic. Oh yeah, he DOES resemble George Michael. Have you seen him covering "Wake me up before you go-go"? (anarcho version)
What a great song... What a great band... I've just finished the chapter about them in "The day the country died" and it's quite funny to see this video after reading "the written truth".
I put this gig on in support of Animal rights and made the vid with a nackered old VHS camera/recorder in the long-gone UEA barn. I've just dug the tape out so I'll put more up when I get a chance.
Good job I don't like copyright innit :)
Bands that played were Atavistic, Deviated Instinct (DI) and Antisect on 30th March 87.
This is awesome THE best band from that era!! - I have a full set from 87 with all the stuff they never recorded [which was their best shit if you ask me!] - too big to upload on here though.
interesting to put a face to the voice..i got darkness when it came out all those years ago..i dont think they ever played scotland so i never saw them, but he does look like the serial cottager george michael.
singer looks like George Michales a bit yes/no?, not makeing fun of him just a thought, great vid though, hey, any footage of Deviated Instinct from that show then?

George Michael was a huge influence on crust bands
before he fell of a stage in in utah and suffered a sever
head injury. after his recovery he changed his image
and began singing pop music. this is not george, but
one can see and hear the apparent influences. little is known or written about his early contributions to punk.

@phillymat I've actually met him three times and he has never hidden his past in crust bands.
He don't talk much about it with journalists because they aren't interested in it anyway, but he's still a fine guy :)
He admitted me he doesn't like extreme crust anymore, but he's still a huge fan of Discharge.
