J'ai eu la chance de jouer contre Francis lors d'un tournoi HardBat en Novembre dernier (tournoi plaisir) et je me souviens m’être pris une bonne raclée :)

C'est pas du tout aussi simple que ça en a l'air le HardBat ...

with normal bats probably 11-0 (or 1). btw: spin is the flavor (or pepper) in talbe tennis, its THE thing. :)

@Jakaplof C'est expliqué plus bas, mais bon, comme c'est en anglais, je traduis ;) : c'est du tennis de table joué avec des raquettes à picots courts sans mousse, comme le Barna par exemple. Moins de rotation, des échanges plus longs, + de tactique, et un plaisir de jouer différent de la mousse.

@Jakaplof Les picots longs inversent l'effet, mais pas les picots courts. Même si certains sont plutôt adhérents, ils ne mettront jamais autant d'effet qu'un backside.

I had not known hardbat until now.

All players play like people who play table tennis in their garage and never even thought about training.

You hardbat people see Joo Se Hyuk and go crazy, even ask him to play. But you know that's not gonna happen in reverse, so admit it's an inferior sport.

Any table tennis player using a hardbat could beat a hardbat player, but a hardbat player will never beat a TT player using a TT bat :).

English is not my first language; if it sounds strange you know why.

@Hertz314 This is because a smooth rubber TT bat allows a player to use power and athleticism without losing control of the ball because of the topspin that can be produced. Power and athleticism cannot be used in the hardbat game to the extent that it can be in the smooth rubber TT game because a hardbat simply will not produce enough topspin to allow for the use of power and athleticism in extreme offensive play like what is seen in modern TT.

No spin : I would say "less spin than with sponge", because it's possible to give a little spin to the ball if you use the good skills.

No speed : well, it depends how hard you hit the ball. :)

Hardbat is very different from Wii, because Wii doesn't need any technique, and that's not the case with hardbat.

And hardbat is definitely not "retarded", it's just another way to play TT, without the sponge and the spinny rubbers.

A hardbat is a bat with short pimpled rubbers without sponge (like Barna rubber), like in th 30/40's.

Chopping is hard for hardbats, little spin and easy short ball returns so you cant go to far from the table. All in all though, I personally think hardbats are a joke and for old people.
