post the entire film- that would be a great thing for world wide fans of cinema who watch YouTube. I beg you- post it all!
thanks for posting this!
btw- the actor who portrays the boat's crotchety engineer with the cats and the squeeze box is the same actor who plays the crotchety train engineer in Frankenheimer's The Train some 30 years later.
you know what guys the scene with the woman and the guy on the boat reminds me of titanic i am pretty sure that james cameron got his scene from this movie..!
The untimely death of Vigo is one of the tragic losses of cinema on a par with the loss of the majority of silent film. One full length film, a short film (both undisputed masterpieces) and a couple of documentaries! Imagine what wonders he would have gone on to create if he had lived a long life?
Wow...what images...just an amazing discovery for me. I went here directly from watching a documentary on Langlois that mentions Jean Vigo and his short life and mastery of film at such a young age. Oh...I can only guess that God had made an angel and asked him to return to the heavens where he belonged.
6:34 Titanic !

@giles422 Michel Simon, of course, is the actor. Thank you, Wikipedia.

Can anyone remind me of the name of the cat? I vaguely remember it being called Minout or something similar.

I love the score for this movie so much. I've been trying to find that theme but no luck so far :(
