My spore creature stays completely black.

When I'm putting limbs on him he has color, but little texture.

Then when I go to painting him he turns black and when I play with him my creature is just plain black.

Why is this?

The version in this video is a couple years old (yeah, we've been waiting that long). The Spore Creature Creator has just recently been release for PC and the final game is due out September 7th.

guys...i just spent the last 7 hours downloading the trial for this thing...i go through all the installationy stuff and when i click to play it it gives me a message saying something about it failing ti start because d3dx9_27.dll was not found...and tells me to reinstall...but after i reinstall it happens again? any help appreciated :D

That happened to me too. it said the 'Graphics Drive' was lost during installing, then another message popped up and it said exactly what happened to u, 'd3dx9_27 file could not be found'.

If techno isn't music, what is? Music is nothing without sound, it's the backbone to any song. Without instrumental sounds you just have lyrics by themselves.. which is better known as poetry. Techno is all sound, so if anything, it's the purest music you can listen to.

Thats its baby. When you mate your creatures they'll have litters of children that grow up to look like your creature. Also if you noticed, the baby was copying the elder creature, meaning that in Spore you might have the option of actually teaching your creature's offspring, which then have an effect on how they behave, thus affecting the species. Cool, huh?

As far as I know, the only use the teeth when the prey is down =(

it could be possible... I'm sure I saw it it 1 video (can't remember if its this one or not) where it shows the teeth with an attack value... so maybe if you got an uber set of fangs on your creature and then focused more on speed for your feet/paws instead of an attack biased set, it might attack with teeth.

But I onlyhave a limited knowledge so wouldn't be able to tell you... Time will though =)

Is it possible to not have to "add" a mouth, but have it naturally like its found on a human, where it is a cavern that enters the body rather than a growth on the creature?

Even on a human lips still come out a little form the face.... with the amount you can customize any "part" you add, I wouldn't be surprised if you can make it more flat and "human-like" ... if you wanted to try make a humanoid creature that is

You'd just add the "part" to where you want the skull and use the mouse wheel to slim the "head" down to shape so it runs smoothly making it look as if it was part of the original shape and not an extra part =)

I don't know what changes they will make to put this game on a console, it seems to be easier on the PC.

you could spend 50 dollars and have the game now, creatures look relatively simple to make

or spend 60 and have it in a few months, but controls could be harder for creating creatures.

Lucky designers, poor programers... they are the ones that did the most hardwork. But still, a great team makes a great game. Its amazing how the computer picks up just the right sounds and animation. This is a must have program.

I use to be a hater of strategy games and lover of fps. After i saw spore i though otherwise...
