I've had a 10/22 like this for about a year now. When I bought it, I was deciding between the Tapco and Archangel stocks. This video sold me on the Tapco. I have the quadrail version of it with a light, laser, grip, and holographic sight. LOVE IT!!! Extremely helpful videos on the reviews and just good job all around. Moving the sling mount really helped me. I'm working on getting my barrel milled down and adding a permanent flash suppressor. Anyway, thanks for all of the helpful videos.
Have you heard of a custom modification for the 10/22 that places the 10/22 receiver into an airsoft P90 stock. It requires heavy modification, but it fits and operates just fine and holds a zero due to the tight fit.
I have the same suppressor on my 10/22, and love it. I also got the bright idea to buy a second one, and mill it out to fit the barrel of my Mosin Nagant M38 carbine. with alot of die grinding, and filing, it fits around the stock front sight perfect, and the set screw holds it in place. Look great I think. Keep up the vids, love em.
Do you think it would be best to have a tactical rugar 1022 as an all around rifle? (for example, hunting etc) I ask this question because I don't think I'll be purchasing more than one rifle. If you see this Nutnfancy or anyone watching this video, please respond back!!
@thatkoreandude when you say hunting im not sure what game your talking, but it is illegal to kill a deer with a 22 rifle so you may want to get something bigger

For example, your going up a mountain and the tactical 1022 your carrying is heavy compare to the standard 1022. etc...

@Ski4Life23 I bought two of them the day the hit my local store. I have not used another high capacity mag since. They not only look cool, but out of the box I have fired everything from bulk ammo (peters and federal) to CCI (stingers and sub sonics) and they have fed it all without issue. Did I mention how cool they look? lol

Well, 1022's hardly ever jam, and if they do it's because of the thrid-party mags. But now Ruger makes a mag called the BX-25. Which I never had problems with.
Been thinking about a .22 for awhile now, used a friends 10/22, and this video certainly all helped convince me into a new Ruger 10/22RPT with a Bushnell TRS-25 . Just got it today, haven't gotten to fire it yet but I'm definitely looking forward to it. Thanks for the great videos! Made me a new subscriber.
I used the forward bit of picatany rail on my old 10/22 because i didn't have the factory scope rail and the one that i found for it didn't have many notches for the optics mound bolts to go through, i had a pantec game seeker reflex and i loved it, keep up the reviews nutn.
I want to thank you, sir, for inspiring to build a Tactical .22!!! I formed my 10/22FS very similar to your setup, and am very very happy with it! Its dead on @ 50 yards with a Leapers/UTG red dot! The only downside (not really, though!) is that California does not allow hi cap mags. Oh well, I still love it, and wouldnt change it for the world!!!
Man, I live in MD and I just figured out I can't get any mags over 20 rd, and luckily for me I can't find any 20 RD mags. Looks like I'm staying stock. But I have Tapco stock too. It's nice.
i like the norinco .22 rifles, even though they are chinese they are awesome. the USA has a weapons embargo on chinese made weapons. they're a plenty here in canada

Greeting guys, Inspired by Nutnfancy - I am going to build my first Ruger 10/22. Researching models and barrels... what is ya'lls opinion on the heavy barrel models vs the 'stock' barrels. Thanks a bunch for showing the Ergo rail system. I just bought a black axiom stock for my 10/22 and it didn't have a rail on the bottom of it for a foregrip. If anyone else was wondering it is an Ergo grip #4750 or EG4750.
the whole idea of a tactical ruger 10/22 makes no sence to me at all, i could see a tactical 22 pistol or long rifle, both being suppresed and used for sentery removal only but thats about it, you should train how you fight and no one fights with a 10/22 over a AR or AK, training to much with a 22 will hinder you because you wont be used to recoil, the shooting tragectory and feel of your actual go to war weapon
@MrDarkwolf1995 you make a valid point when you say this. you wouldnt want to train with a 22 and then go to war with an ar 15. But his main idea behind this video is having a gun to run tactical type shooting courses just to have fun, and having a tactical version of the gun would be better if say you were having a competition or something similar. Having the gun rigged in with tactical elements, i.e. extended mags, railed stocks, red dots, etc, would be appropiate for this.
@flawlzingrock yeah i get the whole having fun idea and yeah sure its fun to plink cans and shit with a 22. but Nutnfancy says a big part of it IS training and i personally dont agree with that, he says that it all translates nicely to whatever gun you happen to end up using, you cant tell me he is not supplementing his training with this/ ive seen plenty of these kind of 10/22s i belive you should train how you fight and if you shoot the 22 more than 762, 556 or 545 then you have a problem imho
@MrDarkwolf1995 yeah thats definitley true but i dont think he means training EXCLUSIVELY with a .22. i think he means it more along the lines of like just running tactical drills with it when u have a certain objective and dont really need a large gun. but yeah you definitley wouldnt want to use just a 22 when you're training.

nutnfancy, i want to add one more practical excuse for having a flash supressor on the 22;
run and gun can turn into run-trip-fall. you don't then want it to turn into run-trip-fall -gun-explode.
the flash supressor serves the very practical purpose of making it less likely that dirt or debris will clog the end of your barrel. if the end of your barrel is poked into the dirt, the vents of the flash supressor allow gasses to escape making a chamber explosion much less likely.

K, running through the desert, in America, shooting a .22 at inatimate objects while wearing a flak jacket? I dont get it. It's like wearing a full on pro wrestling outfit in the stands at a WWE show. The whole weapon build and run 'n gun concept is killer but the vest is a bit much man. Just build 10/22's and enjoy shooting them. Or better yet, shoot fruits and vegetables, cheap explosive targets.

They're wearing tactical load bearing vests. simply to hold magazines/pistol.
But even if they were "flack jackets" why does it matter? It's simple training. Would you prefer jeans and a T-shit? Would that make you more comfortable knowing its less "tactical"??

@flyboyreloaded Its all good to be a purist.. but its his gun he is allowed to do what he wants... i have several mosin nagants and i sportorized one for long range shooting. i have a 10/22 with a ARCHANGEL 10/22 DELUXE TARGET stock on it.. its like buying a sports car and not tuning it up. normally i dont respond to trolls but you see its all personal preference... so if you don't like guns modified.... then buy them all and keep them pure.. I am all about improvements
@flyboyreloaded Its not made to have a wood stock, the wood can warp and splinter. The bolt? Clean it, and it will be smoother thank silk. And the Nagant shoots better when the is Bayonet extended.
A .22LR Autoloader is perfect for 'Run 'n Gun'. This is because one is shooting quickly A LOT of bullets through the gun in short time. You wouldn't want to do this with, say, your Bolt Hunting Rifle. It will wear the Barrel fast! Now 22LR velocity is about 1000FPS standard, so the barrel will last longer. Also, many .22LR barrels are heavy-for-caliber, which is ideal. A .22LR rifle is affordable. Note: .308/.223 =2700 FPS. .17HMR =2550 FPS. .22LR =1000FPS.

do they make a barrel shroud for a stock barrel for the 10/22 I ordered one not knowing it only fits the bull replacement barrel and do not have the money or dont see the sence in buying a 200.00 $ barrel for a 150.00 $ gun thanks
They do but they are not cheap. I would suggest just using the standerd barrel as the tapco website says that it works with both stock and bull barrels.
Just think of it this way, you got a great stock that also freefloats the barrel which will in-turn improve accuracy.
I have noticed a lot of your videos look like the Utah area (my back yard). The gravel pit that i previously shot in is now closed down because tons of @ss holes had to leave their garbage laying around after they were done shooting it up. My question is, where is it that you shoot? is it private land? somewhere out by promontory? or i could be completely wrong and you are in a different area lol. I was just curious. and at 3:39 in the video, I haven't ever seen a building like that, its cool!

Great vid mate,here in the UK i do minirifle which is on a similar basis but we do it indoors on a various set up with temp walls/doors ect and is fantastic cheap fun and now im sending for my FAC then i can get my own guns and that tapco is one stock on my wanted list,just trying to find a uk supplier,the 1022 is def the ultimate rifle for reliabilty,and i would love to shoot an oudoor setup like yours :)
Nutn Im trying to find a review on the American Tactical Imports VK-22, have you heard anything on this system? Is it junk? I am seeing alot of positive reviews on gun boards but I value you opinion above that of some random arm chair warrior.
Any experience with the new "tactical trainer" model they came out with? I got one. Running the standard barrel and so it is floating but it allows the stock to flex quite abit. Im stil trying to decide what to do about it. Any ideas?

the whole idea of a tactical ruger 10/22 makes no sence to me at all, i could see a tactical 22 pistol or long rifle, both being suppresed and used for sentery removal only but thats about it, you should train how you fight and no one fights with a 10/22 over a AR or AK, training to much with a 22 will hinder you because you wont be used to recoil, the shooting tragectory and feel of your actual go to war weapon

@MrDarkwolf1995 you make a valid point when you say this. you wouldnt want to train with a 22 and then go to war with an ar 15. But his main idea behind this video is having a gun to run tactical type shooting courses just to have fun, and having a tactical version of the gun would be better if say you were having a competition or something similar. Having the gun rigged in with tactical elements, i.e. extended mags, railed stocks, red dots, etc, would be appropiate for this.

@flawlzingrock yeah i get the whole having fun idea and yeah sure its fun to plink cans and shit with a 22. but Nutnfancy says a big part of it IS training and i personally dont agree with that, he says that it all translates nicely to whatever gun you happen to end up using, you cant tell me he is not supplementing his training with this/ ive seen plenty of these kind of 10/22s i belive you should train how you fight and if you shoot the 22 more than 762, 556 or 545 then you have a problem imho

@MrDarkwolf1995 yeah thats definitley true but i dont think he means training EXCLUSIVELY with a .22. i think he means it more along the lines of like just running tactical drills with it when u have a certain objective and dont really need a large gun. but yeah you definitley wouldnt want to use just a 22 when you're training.

Hey Nutnfancy! I just wanted to tramendously thank you for making this excellent and educational video! I recently purchased a Ruger 10/22 and did not want to limit myself to it's standard options. After watching this video and seeing the Tapco system, it inspired me to transform my 10/22 so I can continue to tactically train and keep my skills sharp in my LE career and do it inexpensively. nutnfancy, i want to add one more practical excuse for having a flash supressor on the 22;
run and gun can turn into run-trip-fall. you don't then want it to turn into run-trip-fall -gun-explode.
the flash supressor serves the very practical purpose of making it less likely that dirt or debris will clog the end of your barrel. if the end of your barrel is poked into the dirt, the vents of the flash supressor allow gasses to escape making a chamber explosion much less likely.

K, running through the desert, in America, shooting a .22 at inatimate objects while wearing a flak jacket? I dont get it. It's like wearing a full on pro wrestling outfit in the stands at a WWE show. The whole weapon build and run 'n gun concept is killer but the vest is a bit much man. Just build 10/22's and enjoy shooting them. Or better yet, shoot fruits and vegetables, cheap explosive targets.

They're wearing tactical load bearing vests. simply to hold magazines/pistol.
But even if they were "flack jackets" why does it matter? It's simple training. Would you prefer jeans and a T-shit? Would that make you more comfortable knowing its less "tactical"??

@flyboyreloaded Its all good to be a purist.. but its his gun he is allowed to do what he wants... i have several mosin nagants and i sportorized one for long range shooting. i have a 10/22 with a ARCHANGEL 10/22 DELUXE TARGET stock on it.. its like buying a sports car and not tuning it up. normally i dont respond to trolls but you see its all personal preference... so if you don't like guns modified.... then buy them all and keep them pure.. I am all about improvements

@flyboyreloaded Its not made to have a wood stock, the wood can warp and splinter. The bolt? Clean it, and it will be smoother thank silk. And the Nagant shoots better when the is Bayonet extended.

A .22LR Autoloader is perfect for 'Run 'n Gun'. This is because one is shooting quickly A LOT of bullets through the gun in short time. You wouldn't want to do this with, say, your Bolt Hunting Rifle. It will wear the Barrel fast! Now 22LR velocity is about 1000FPS standard, so the barrel will last longer. Also, many .22LR barrels are heavy-for-caliber, which is ideal. A .22LR rifle is affordable. Note: .308/.223 =2700 FPS. .17HMR =2550 FPS. .22LR =1000FPS.

do they make a barrel shroud for a stock barrel for the 10/22 I ordered one not knowing it only fits the bull replacement barrel and do not have the money or dont see the sence in buying a 200.00 $ barrel for a 150.00 $ gun thanks

They do but they are not cheap. I would suggest just using the standerd barrel as the tapco website says that it works with both stock and bull barrels.
Just think of it this way, you got a great stock that also freefloats the barrel which will in-turn improve accuracy.

I have noticed a lot of your videos look like the Utah area (my back yard). The gravel pit that i previously shot in is now closed down because tons of @ss holes had to leave their garbage laying around after they were done shooting it up. My question is, where is it that you shoot? is it private land? somewhere out by promontory? or i could be completely wrong and you are in a different area lol. I was just curious. and at 3:39 in the video, I haven't ever seen a building like that, its cool!

Great vid mate,here in the UK i do minirifle which is on a similar basis but we do it indoors on a various set up with temp walls/doors ect and is fantastic cheap fun and now im sending for my FAC then i can get my own guns and that tapco is one stock on my wanted list,just trying to find a uk supplier,the 1022 is def the ultimate rifle for reliabilty,and i would love to shoot an oudoor setup like yours :)

Any experience with the new "tactical trainer" model they came out with? I got one. Running the standard barrel and so it is floating but it allows the stock to flex quite abit. Im stil trying to decide what to do about it. Any ideas?
