  • la louisiane garder dire creole... lucky theyre not in the caribbean where creole is only defined as a language. lol

  • GREAT video.....however :) not all creoles are french my family is italian/african/native american everyone debates me when i tell them that and even more if i just say im black or the usual sorry im not puerto rican my family surname is DeLimus via south carolina but they later moved to alabama I guess because they were black or mixed catholics people assume you're french creole since most are catholic and most blacks are baptist ? idk but I know there are also portuguese american creoles

  • Hold up people! I love u all but these creole people are just trying to hold tight to their culture and ancestry. these things are unique to them. It does not matter how u were born or who your father is that you that u should not value yourself. white peole are proud of being white, black peole are proud of being black. so does creole peole. Creole peole also have some time difficulty fitting in to other groups. These creole peole have almost the same cultural type as puerto ricans and cubans.

  • Mo laimm bokou la muzik dan vidyo-çilà! Ki té fé ça? I love the music in this video! Who is the composer?

  • Creole*

  • Good video.

  • Queen Ida-that's my family!!! I am proud to be Creole, very proud

  • LOL @ this blatant, "look at me, somewhere down the line my people where raped by white people or sold out and Im proud of it".

I'm sick of this whole banging under false identities bs. This is why black folks can't move up in the world. We're still too busy being proud of anything attached to white. What the hell is a Creole? We love calling ourselves anything but Afrikan. I hope all slave-minded people die when this country goes under in the very near future. BTW my fam is from New Roads, LA

  • @MistaMidnight

You seem to be a very ignorant person.First of all not all people who are Mixed Race are Products of Rape.Look at the enormous amount of Black Men marrying White & Bi Racial Women.Secondly No one here is in Denial of their Black Heritage. If You don't know what a Creole is You got a problem. I suggest You pick up a Book & get an education before You start on this Anti Mixed Race bashing. Black folks are not moving forward because of People like You and Your Uncle Tom ways

  • @augustinecomeaux

LOL @ being a Uncle Tom. I think that's the last thing anyone would call a brother like me. So let me get this straight, you're telling me black men and white women where dating during slavery? Is that what you're telling me? Also, what does today have to do what I'm talking about? This page is showing the results of European domination on Afrikans and you're posting this up like it was some sort of partnership that created the so-called "Creole".

  • @augustinecomeaux Why don't You pick up a History book & read the true story of the Louisiana Creole before You start jumping to conclusions. If it's one thing I don't like is someone who doesn't know Our History to make stupid remarks. If You are so proud of Your African History then get off Your ass & start supporting Your Culture You run Your mouth but I don't see You doing anything for Your Heritage. All You can do is Hate. It's ignorant Blacks like You that are keeping Us & Our People down

  • @MistaMidnight : It is what it is. If people want to be proud of their Creole heritage let them. It is a part of who they are.

  • @MistaMidnight I couldn't have said it better myself! LOL

  • @MistaMidnight Thats like telling a mixed person of white & black heritage to deny there white side. Why do ppl have to be anything other then wat they are? And this don't go all the way back to the slave days, They speak creole, and their culture is still very prevelant in louisiana today, every race should be proud of there culture. Mexicans right now celebrate their Aztec ancestory, so whats the difference. Or are they just ashamed to be called mexican? Creole is a culture.

  • @MistaMidnight I agree with you. This young man is a good example of what America has done to the Black psyche. Some of our people embrace everything around them other than what is truly theirs. French is a language forced onto our people in an attempt to squash our African identity. There was no interracial dating to speak of when my great great grandmother became pregnant for a white man. IT was rape. Claiming my European blood is like me saying that I am proud of my slave name too.

  • @cruziangirl6

Neither one of You people have any knowledge of the Louisiana Creole nor Our History. I suggest that You read a bit on the subject before You start making ignorant comments. For You to think that All People of African descent act alike and are all the same is quite ignorant. Creoles Black and White willingly mixed during slavery times & for Your info Many Creoles Were Free People of Color. Don't You think it would be a good idea to do a bit of research before You open Your mouth

  • @cruziangirl6

If It's anything more frustrating is to interface with one who has absolutely no knowledge of other People & their Culture. Our Ancestors spoke Creole in Africa Long before they were ever brought to the America's. It's French / African Based .Our Ancestors Were Proud of Their Black Heritage. If it were not for them You'd all still be wearing Chains. They struggled to make all People of Color Free & I guess this is the thanks they get from You bunch of Ignorant uneducated People

  • @augustinecomeaux lmao now your going to far ur ancestor spoke a african language not a creol creoles where created by slaves in the americas becuase they where getting raped and forced into slavery by french spanish and english colonizers it was created in the americas not africa so now obvously you dnt know alot about your own heritage and lousianna creales after becoming apart of america became and are apart of african american ethnic group due to the jim crow lows creole is a culture

  • @DJbootytalks617 I think You are the one that needs to pick up a book and read. The Creole Language is a mix of French and African, which was developed in Africa along the Slave trading trails. It was a result of the intermixing of the two Cultures. The Slaves brought to Louisiana and the Caribbean brought the Language with them and for Your info not All mixed Race People were a result of Rape..Many Relationships were willing. You seem to be telling Me what other people have told You. It's obvious

  • @DJbootytalks617 Oh, One more thing ,The Creole Language is spoken World wide...It is spoken in The Caribbean Islands, The Islands Off the coast of Africa, and many Islands in the Indian Ocean. ..It is also spoken even in Louisiana by White as well as Black Creoles..So My friend, How do You account for that. ??.. Just what do You know about Our Creole History.. You are not even Creole, So What Do You really know ??

  • @augustinecomeaux just like black peple speak english lol white people speak english

  • This is a nice video, and I understand the sentiment, but wow....do you really believe that being of "mixed" racial heritage means you are no longer black? If you have a clear understanding of anthropology, you will find that most African Americans are "mixed" to some degree. Light skin is based on genetics and is not an identifier for the amount of racial mixture someone's DNA holds. I love Louisiana, but I really don't like the stereotype of the light skinned creole...

  • @cruziangirl6 @cruziangirl6 @cruziangirl6 Here We go again. No where in this video does it imply that Mixed Race People are in denial of their Black Heritage.Just why are You making this assumption.People come in all colors.I don't know of any Mixed Race Person that wants to be White. We just want to be Ourselves.White America has ingrained the One Drop Theory in the Heads of People so deeply that People are not able to think for themselves..Please stop trying to equate Mixed Race with White

  • @augustinecomeaux ;THANK YOU!!!!!!!

  • @augustinecomeaux Just a question - i dont uinderstand why, like u said, mixed race people cant or wont acknowledge their white culture heritage. Do not get angry with me, I am just curious. It does not make sense to acknowledge the best of all of ones heritages.

  • @krstnlhjt You might have mis understood what I was trying to say...I think most Mixed Race People do honor their White side but because of White Rejection of their Mulatto kinship We Mulattoes have turned towards Our Black Heritage because We ,as A People feel ,more comfortable and can readily identify with the Black Side, because these are the People We most frequently associate with

  • @augustinecomeaux Thank u for the clarification. I think I did misunderstand what u were trying to say.

  • @augustinecomeaux LOL....when did I equate mixed race with white? I am from the West Indies...my people speak what we call potwa, or what your people call creole. My people come in all shades....my grandmother looked white, but was a proud black woman. She never felt the need to call herself anything other than Black and she taught her daughters and her grandchildren to be the same way. Creoles are black people that speak french, just like Haitians, Senegalese, Camaroneans, Tunisians, etc...

  • The culture is what you may be trying to hype, which is great, but the reality, at least the way I look at it is, when Black Americans try to differentiate themselves into groups, like "Creole," it gives the appearance that being Black isn't enough. Or worse, isn't good enough. You speak of "one drop." Are you kidding me? My comment was about genetics...your response was about culture. The truth is Creoles don't have to look like you. They can look like me too. Beautiful and Black.

  • @cruziangirl6

I beg Your pardon.Never, have I ever said Creoles were not BLACK. Creoles possess a Latin Culture & never shared the same Culture as the African American until After the Civil War.Our Ancestors came from a different Country, called New France, better known as Louisiana & Our land was Sold to America. You say You're from the West Indies.Just what Island would that be. let's stop trying to make Me into some sort of color struck person. You don't even know the History of Our People

  • @cruziangirl6 LOL! you're bitter and misinformed. Louisiana Creoles are NOT Black Americans. Creoles are simply Creoles! And race has nothing to do w/ genetics. Most Creoles are mixed!!!! Black is only a portion of the Creole culture and people. What about the white and Native American ancestors and of the Creole culture and people? Without Europe, Native America, and Africa we Louisiana Creoles would not exist. Our Creoke flag shows that we're MULTIRACIAL/MULTIANCESTRAL! Try again!

  • @chsn09 sorry your miss informed lol creoles are african american guess what many african americans have native american and white ancestery and yall have a diffrent heritage but yall are still african american so get over it lol

  • @DJbootytalks617 Hmm, how disrespectful for a bitter outsider to tell ME who I and my people are! Sorry but us Creoles are NOT African Americans. We are mixed people and some of us are only white or only Native American.

Black Creoles are NOT African Americans either. Stop trying to claim something that is NOT yours!

  • @cruziangirl6 Its not for you to like or dislike. The racism of darkskined blacks against lighter skin also became reciprocated..not right but true. You dont know anything because your not from afamily that speaks french in aFrench based culture..completly different.400 developed into our own people where as other Africans lost themselves we Remade our selves and are truely what America is about. So fuck all yall Haters.Your not going to tells omeone to forget thier African or european culture!

  • I enjoyed the video if I must say ... It was entertaining.

  • Thank you for the beautiful video! My wife and her family are Frenchcreole and My kids are half. I am a blessed man to be a part of her family. Whodat!

  • Good video but in america you are black or white dont matter how mix you are.

  • @BRKS627

Thanks for comment however We Creole don't buy that "One Drop Rule " which is a throw back from the days of slavery. Mixed Race People are starting to wake Up and identify with who they really are.A new day is coming. You can call Us what You want but the reality is that We are who We are and We are tired of having outsiders determine Who We should be.America is the only Country on this Earth that separates it's People By Race. America ought to be ashamed of itself

  • @augustinecomeaux i'm from Haiti I'm 100% and i am not light skin creole people are from different mix not just skin people, please erase that stereotype

  • @kpierre100 @augustinecomeaux

Hey Boss. This video is not about Haitian Creoles. It's all about the Louisiana Creoles. My Ancestors are from Haiti and so what.I suggest You send Me some pictures to add to another video or back off. This video is about the Multi-Racial Louisiana Creole.I'm fully aware that Creoles Come in all Colors & This video is about Us.I see Haitian Videos that show Black Folks only so whats up with that..You ought to be Proud that Creoles come in all colors..Stop the hating

  • @augustinecomeaux first off i'm not hating I'm stating a fact. and those videos you saw of Haitians were not my videos i have people from all shades of color in my family. take offense to my comment you post something to the public people are going to put their 2 cents as simple as that just deal with it

  • @kpierre100 we're talkin about louisiana creoles here in america not haitians. and in haiti when they refer to "creole" usually its referring to the language whereas here we're referring to a group of people, food, culture and language.

  • @cchllover no that is not true in Haiti when we are talking about creole we are not only talking about the language, but we are also talking about the people. Haitian people are creole first of all. I'm from Haiti so i would know thank you very much

  • @kpierre100 well from my personal experiences whenever i am talking to a haitian person and i say somethin like "beyonce's mother is creole" they'll be like "what do u mean she's creole? u mean she speaks creole?". it never fails, happens all the time. What im sayin is MOST LOUISIANA CREOLES are light skinned, NOT ALL but most. Thats why they were able to be free ppl of color and own businesses and lands, and have education during slavery. They lept intermarrying so no one would be dark skinned.

  • @cchllover creole people come in all shades and color there, black, white dark skin , light skin all i'm saying is people have stereotypes so make sure you break by putting showing all of the shades and color of creole people. i'm sure in Louisiana there are some dark skin creole there.

  • @kpierre100 i know that but most Louisiana Creoles are light skinned. Hence the creole saying "if ur black stay back, if ur brown stick around, if ur light ur just right" There are dark skinned creoles, brown skinned as well, but most are light or look white.

  • @kpierre100 :True!

  • @cchllover well just like some american are uneducated when it comes to culture so are some Haitian as i said as a Haitian who is educated culturally went t school in Haiti and in America creole is not just a language it is a culture and i'm telling you that as a Haitian who was born raise in Haiti when you say someone is creole u mean he or she is creole you don't have to speak creole to be creole, for example if a child is born in America from a Haitian mother and father he is creole

  • In America you are black no matter how light you are you are an African

  • @ABIGAILPIERRE0923 Why can't You enjoy the Video and stop injecting Race into the picture...It seems like America has done a good job in alienating Black and White People from one another and each other...Your comment is in bad taste, provacative, a bit Outdated and meant to separated Black Man against Black Man

  • @augustinecomeaux That is your opinion but what I said is true I dont care about black or white and I am not inferring what you mentioned about black against black. How did you get thses crazy ideas about my comment? I said in America no matter how light you are you are an AFRICAN. Dont get but hurt over it,. It is what it is accept it, you know it's okay to be African.

  • actually creoles of louisiana majority are haitian mulattoes/whites who left haiti during the slave revolt and settled in louisiana.. thats where the "creole" comes from

  • So basically Creoles are mixed race people of African, Native American and European ancestry who speak French.

  • @PositiveNature ..

That's correct. Although it Can be a combination of the three or sometimes a variant oh the three..For most Louisiana Creoles that do not live in Louisiana they have forgotten their Creole Language and have been intermarrying with the African American Population but for the Most part We and Our Culture are still alive

  • I think it is beautiful to see a group representing so many different cultures, but I think one has to be careful, and love all groups equally. All are a part of you and you should be proud of all the different bloodlines. Culture is beautiful and can be an example to societies that feel the need to be so racially divided.

  • this is too long lol i tried to watch it..

  • Please SOMEBODY!!! please tell me the name and musician in this song!!!1 i love it!!!!

  • I am a descendant of the Olivier du Vezin family. Are we related?

  • we have the best food too!

  • AAA+++ Vidio !!!! wonderfull!!

  • Dickyg, Parlez-vous francais? Je sais un petite peu

  • @WhereYaBoss

  • Wow! Such a nice vid! It represented ALL forerunners and included ALL "looks" of Creoles (for those still narrow- minded lol)

  • creole is not a race.trust an belive that.we are not a race.we and black an white.speaking french doesnt make us french.french is not a race they white.its a language.kill me try to be seprate.

  • Here We go again, When will it ever stop? No one said Creoles were a Racial Group..We are a Culture and WE are not in denial. please stop reading between the lines.Simply because We want to maintain a separate identity doesn't mean We are in Denial.Let's stop this Anti-Creole hostility. We just want to be Respected for what We really are and nothing more..Why does everybody that hears the Word Creole jump to conclusions? It appears that there is quite a bit of hostility towards Creoles.Why...

  • Well, it just goes back to the misconception that Creoles think they are "better" than other black folks. Or they're somehow "confused" about themselves. All of the name-calling we receive appears to be part of the persecution we often receive from just being of mixed ancestry. It's just so damn stupid b/c no one chooses what race or races they belong to. That understanding should be moot but somehow it's still ascribed to and perpetuated. I believe it's race that will make America fold one day.

  • @slimdudeDJC Louisiana Creoles ARE NOT Black! They are mixed! The whole point of the Louisiana Creole identity is to promote a unique identity and as an opposition to the illogical USA American one drop rule! This has been ongoing issue since the 1803 annexation of Louisiana to to the USA following the subsequent Louisiana Purchase in 1803!

  • @chsn09 "Louisiana Creoles ARE NOT Black! They are mixed!". . . that's exactly what I was saying. I only used "black" because "pure bloods" are always accusing Creoles of aloofness and highminded behavior towards them. That's not the case always, some, but not all. I find more Creoles are more receptive of mono-raciality because that's their collective make up.

  • @slimdudeDJC Well to tell you the truth most so called blacks or people you call pure blood are NOT even pure! No one is pure anything lol! Some blacks are more mixed than Louisiana Creoles!

  • @chsn09 That's the reason I put "pure bloods" in quotes. Yes, very few people are "pure", but they do still exist. . . at least for now!

  • @slimdudeDJC Black is just an identity label more than it is a so called race in perceptual imaginary abd context! I can see why people would say that about aloofness of Creoles but you have to look at the other side as well but then it just ends up defying the original point and objective abd factions altogether of which are RELATIVE rather than absolute!

  • What is the name of this song!??
