@GodOfWar3451 Yes, the whole thing is really kind of F"d up... Why does everything in comic-land always have to be so convoluted and bizarrely disjointed and alternate-dimension/universe-y­? Does the medium actually prohibit straightforward linear storytelling? Am I just getting old? I don't think my Justice League comic books were this hard to follow when I was a kid. (And they managed lots of plots without the killing and subsequent resurrection of a main character too)

Another thing I do not like that much about Season 8 are the fluffy puffy colours the pinkish skin tones, the all to soft gradients, the polished look. It looks a bit too flat a bit too much photoshopped for me to like. Again After The Fall showed how much atmoshere the colours can add to a page. I havent`read the first Angel&Faith issue yet but the overall impression I get from the preview pages is that the art seems to be quite good, although Faith doesn`t look like Dushku either.

That said, I shall not forget that his Buffy has become way better over the years. At least in the panels he might have spent some more time on. While I do not care about shipping this or shipping that these comic are not only the continuation of the storylines for me they are a substitute for two dearly missed tv shows. So I like it when not only the writing catches the feel of the shows but the looks too.

Hi there. I must say, I do not think that Season 8 was all that bad. So I have already posted many praise elsewhere. Time for some critic. I do not quite understand the approch Whedon and Dark Horse have towards the likeness of the main characters. Yesterday had a look at Stephen Mooneys pages for foe Angel: After The Fall again, which prove that it is possible to get some decent likeness done without being photorealistic. I'm sorry, Jeantys Spike looks shite. Same goes for his Angel.

Spoilers: I really, really, wanted to like Season 8, but I have no idea how Season 9 can fix all its problems.

More than seven years of Angel's character development was ruined when he decided to destroy the universe just to be w/ Buffy.

Buffy decides to sleep with Angel after he kills 206 slayers.

Why is WIllow ok with being in the same room with Warren? HE KILLED TARA.

There are good Buffy comics: Fray, Tales, Origins, etc, but Season 8 has characters act evil without ANY justification.

@VGirl I'll still follow S9, since I love BTVS to death and want to see how it ends, but S8 has no regard for continuity or characterization whatsoever.

In the TV show, bad or morally ambiguous decisions made by the Scoobies tended to be in-character given the circumstances they're in. Horrific events, like Tara's death, fit into the overarching theme of each season. Season 8 had evil and stupid decisions come out of nowhere for the sake of plot, and drove characters we loved into the ground.

@VGirl They haven't really made it clear how much of it was Twilight and how much of it was Angel. Although I do have a big problem if they say Angel was in control of himself for that. This is they guy that wanted to spare Knox! And like he would just let Connor, Illyria and the rest of his own team die?! It's too unlike him. And if they do say Angel was in control, then shouldn't Buffy feel the blame/get blame of the deaths the demon horde caused after their multi-demensional sex as well?
