  • i just bought one of these and cant get the motor to start. been sitting for a few yrs and the plane has never been flown yet. I got a trainer 40 and have crashed it 8 times so far trying to learn. Bought the trianer 60 for when i do learn t hen i will have fresh plane to fly. I just keep gluing up the trainer 40 and will keep gluing untill i crash it so bad its unrepairable

  • I save rubber bands from newspaper rolls and soak them in motor oil, this way you can get all greasy before even messing with the glow fuel.

  • Hey at least you can laugh after a crash. I do heaps, Crashes and laughs.

If you cant find another hobby....

Had a few wings come off with heaps of bands holding it, must be the Gs.

  • Well at least the rubber bands survived. :)

  • Ha ha Yeh I wish I could blam them lol. The Good news is this was 3 yrs ago. The bad news is I got hooked and now I fly couple a three times a week and have 5 planes & 4 Helicopters arhhh thats got to be sad . Thanks 4 your comments anyways.

  • I think the number of rubber bands varies. I tend to use 8 on most non-performance models and 10-12 on models with high g maneuvers. I found on some of the high g's the wing would move with less....and to be honest, if I impact groung with that type of plane at high velocity, there won't be much left anyway. Rake it up and start over.

  • 2 gomas solo para las alas.........

    normal crash

  • sorry to see, im a hard head my self and have not utilized a trainer to assist ,and ive paid dearly. Through this i have learned alot of things though, i just learned them the expensive way)

  • ha the rubberbands are still there...

  • See, this is why we BUDDY BOX if you buy an expensive first plane :)

  • looks like a foam trainer.. smaller than a .60 size too. Where is everyone getting 3yrs to build from?

  • i got the 3 years from ceecrb1, not sure where he got it from now that i look...

it is not foam, however. the fuselage is a true balsa sheet structure with molded plastic trims and coverings.

the thunder tiger trainer was only available in .40 and .60 sizes. as he walks up to the plane, you can clearly see "N60TT" printed on the tail section of the fuselage....meaning its a .60. a .40 would say "N40TT".

  • I got it because in one of his videos, either this or "my tiger trainer 60 model self distructs" he says it was 3 years..

Now i watch it back and it has music dubbed over it and the voices removed.....

  • how did it take you 3 years to build and ARF. all you gotta do is glue the wings together and go.

speaking of gluing the wings together...everyone keeps saying you didnt use enough rubber bands. while i agree, you can plainly see the rubber bands intact on the plane...meaning they did not fail. looks to me like the wings broke apart at the middle seam, allowing them to fold up and fly out from under the bands. epoxy is your friend :-D

  • not enough epoxy or not enough rubber bands, in your other video, you only had like 4 rubber bands, you need no less then 10 with 2 crisscrossed to hold them on.

  • that is just getting stupid, as long as they are not rotten and they are good quality, 4 or 6 is ample. If you put that many on it would take ages to take the wing off and you would risk ripping to wing dowels out of the fuse, and the point in elastic bands is that they snap when you crash the plane to avoid massive damage

  • you dont need like 10 rubber bands

2 on one side , 2 on the other and 2 bands criss crossed or

even this is too much as the wings are suposed to snap off in a crash to pervent damage so too many bands will cause more damage to the fuselage or wing

    6 bands are plenty

aslong as they are for that type of plane and arnt sun damaged then they should be fine, nitro fuel can also perish the bands quicker than expected so uv and fuel protected bands are recomended

  • hahahaha waoo

  • is that what happend the wings came off mid flight?

  • Thats what happens when you dont join wings properly.

3 years to build!? How, did you do one square cm of the plane every day or something?!

  • did you manage to salvage any parts?

  • They were never found!! They ended up out of the field.

  • At least you can laugh about it. Where did you get your plane? can`t find one anywhere.
