The death penalty won't work here. The sentences need to be seriously reviewed though. serving 2.5 years for carrying a gun is a joke. needs to be a minimum 10 for carrying a loaded gun. this would make people less likely to carry them for the sake of it. theres always going to be murders over gang affiliated stuff we can never stop that, but we can discourage the impulsive killings if we make the sentence for carrying a gun outweigh the safety these guys feel carrying them.

Thing is, every english boy I know also differentiates other races from his own, and so builds up his "racist"sorroundings. Of course not every white boy does that, but most do. Most immigrants & british black youths don't do that. Of course it creates hatred and conflict between races.

Explain to me how it is acceptable for black people to be proud of their ethnicity and not racialist but when a white people do it it is racialist? As to immigrant groups not being racialist say that to the Somali youth that are under constant attack from Bangladeshi youth that refer to them as Bander (Monkey) in Tower Hamlets in London.
I wish the issue was different but it is not. Also most white people I know are not racialist and to say otherwise is false.

@Infideltv The reason is context. For most of modern history, non-white races were decided to be inherently inferior and to be white was a mark of natural superiority. Now, I'm Igbo and personally think 'pride' in one's race is nonsense, but I can understand why it's come about as a way of telling ourselves we're not slaves or colonial rejects, we are not inferior and we have the same potential as the 'white man' (which also doesn't really exist, tbh). It's not perfect but maybe still necessary.

But not to the point that it can be said "All white people are racialists" in the sense they 'believe' to be white is to be superior. There is a cultural superiority that does not take thinking in to consideration: this results in racial attitudes and we've all been guilty of that. Pride in one's race must be placed in notions of goodness. Thus at a basic level there is nothing wrong in being racially proud as long as one allows the same right for peoples of other races. Humanity is whats needed

Well obviously no, but I think it's a minority of ethnic people who really think all white people are racialist in that sense. Otoh, it would be blind to say superiority's not a key part of white racism (ethnic racism has similarities but is mostly another matter). I agree that racial pride should be replaced with basic humanism but it's not going to happen for a while due to a whole range of reasons (economic, social etc). The best thing to do in the meanwhile is not let 'pride' go to extremes.

So the death penalty has worked in the USA. No. All that happens is that people of African origin are more likely to get executed than the majority white population. Death penalty never stopped anything and once you are on such a sentence you have nothing to lose before you are caught and thus are more likely to kill again to avoid arrest.
