More orchestra and less light as that was reversed in later albums. Never knew much about their early stuff. Great historical stuff. Thanks.

Roy Wood and Jeff Lynne were really rock- musicians who deserved a high respect.
Very talented ones but I think they were aware of the fact this kind of music will never make very big money. Well, Jeff did later but he made ELO sound more commercial.

I like the old experimental ELO a lot.
Not just the music was experimental,
the lyrics were also more complicated than later. I have asked this many times what Queen of the Hours really means, the same thing about Dreaming of 4000 ?

@ELONut Good one ELONut. I'm sure you know that "No Answer" was not supposed to be the name of their first album here in the states? They called the record company in England and got "No Answer" on the phone, so the secretary wrote that down and the record company here thought that was the title.
