  • I love this song soo much!

  • wonderfull !!!

  • Nice job, but would have been nicer I think if played a little slower.

  • Marrina is a very talented pianist. Her fingers just glide over the keys. The circus music before and after the Clowns is a very nice touch. Even nicer is the switch to a minor key for the ending. An excellent arrangement!

  • piano players are amazing how it soudls like more than one person isplaying

  • I ve watched this video at my best date ever! it was at Movie Watcherus few weeks ago...!

  • Marvallous movie with effective graphics I am watching it at onlinehqmovies . c o m with high quality

  • this song is so haunting to me and this was beautifully played thank you.i agree with what many of you have written about what the song means it has many layers .

  • la primera vez que escuché esta canción lloré y cada vez que la escucho me emociono. Es preciosa y muy triste!!!

    gracias!

  • ughh i had to sing this song in choir my sophomore year. hahah

  • no! send in the clowns is not about clowns... or rather, it's about metaphorical clowns. It's from the show "a little night music," and it's about aging lovers and missed opportunities. The "clowns" are really the foolish antics, the games, the tricks that accompanied their past mistakes.

  • too beautifl to be sad...., lose the original feeling

  • I don't understand how a song about clowns can be so sad

  • but that's the whole thing about clowns; what do you think the mask is about?

  • When a performer made a mistake, or fell or something in the circus they would send in clowns to distract the audience. The character this song is about probably screwed up really badly.

  • Yes, ive heard after a performer does a dangerous feat, such as a high wire act, they send in the clowns to lighten up the mood.

  • @Matthew03291980

Send in the Clowns is not about clowns. Clowns is a metaphor describing the situation in which Desiree and Frederik find themselves in in Sondheim's play "A Little Night Music."

  • @jcanepa07 the term "send in the clowns" came from when in the circus, if something tragic happened, they would send the clowns on to distract the audience from the tragedy. It is used as a figure of speech in this song, because that is exactly what the woman singing this song is going through at the moment. Pure genius on Mr. Sondheim's part.

  • @Matthew03291980 I'm sure a careful look at the lyrics will show you that it's about much more than clowns.

  • This is seriously great...
