I have been using WMM because it is so easy but I also own movie edit pro 12. When I tried to use it I got frustrated because there are no real directions. Is the pain of learning the program really worth the effort?

Also can you layer audio?... I have not looked at the program in a while. WMM will only allow the videos audio and one other audiio at a time.

You have to go to file, then save the video as a movie file. Save it for playback on your computer and best quality. Then, simply wait until it's done and go to youtube. Click upload video, and you simply have to open the movie file.

You have to purchase an activation code from Magix to unlock the mpg use in MEP. Your product code that came with MEP will not unlock it.

The grid snap of this program is alot different than that of Movie Maker. Clips don't seem to follow each other when you shrink one in the timeline like movie maker. Anyone know if I can set the grid snap like movie maker?

Movie edit pro has multiple tracks to work with. I have used as many as 25 tracks in one of my videos. It is more complicated, but you can do so many different things because of that. Thanks for watching Silvess.

Movie Edit Pro 12 is pretty good. Some people have problems with it crashing but I haven't. This program does not offer dozens of title templates like other programs. This is a cheap video editing program that works on XP and Vista.

You can go to amazon and get this for $15 including shipping. Your paying $15 for a program which can also do basic chroma keying effects including white and black screens which is nice.

Watermarks are for two reasons, one is to let you use their product, the second is if you like it then buy it to remove the watermark. Free file converter programs arent too good, your best bet is to purchase one bigmoney.

Do a screen capture of your flash animations and then use that file with MEP V12. That would be the easiest thing to do.

MEV V11 will work with the mpeg video format. You can purchase the mpeg format upgrade online. It should tell you that when you try to drop an mpeg video on the timeline. I did the upgrade a long time ago and back then it was $15. Try the upgrade, you will not be dissapointed.

Does Movie Edit Pro 12 fully support MPEG 4 files such as MP4's or do you have to download codec's to get the software to read the files? I had to get codecs just so my Sony Vegas 8 could read MP4 Files.

I know MEP V12 supports the MPEG4 video format as that is what format one of my cameras use. As far as the codecs, I cant remember if I had to upgrade or not. Just try to drop an MPEG4 on the timeline, if you need the codec, the program will tell you. Hope this helps and thanks for the comment Klingonmastr.

I have not used version 11 in a long time, but when I did use it, I edited my mp4 video clips with it. If you try to drag and drop an mp4 file to the timeline, if it will not read it, it will give you the option to upgrade your program online for a small fee (it was $15 when I did it it). I just bought this program last week!...i'm so excited to use it now!...thanks for the comparison...i used WMM for awhile and am now stepping up to use Sony Vegas and Video Edit pro 12! Question when i read hte booklet for video edit pro12 it said something about having to have a firewire cord is there another way to import clips into the program without it,using a firewire can be such a hassle and i have the exact same type of camera as you as well lol!...thanks for posting this :)

I have never used a firewire cord to import video clips. If you can transfer the video clip to your computer then you can just navigate to it through MEP and then just drag and drop it on the timeline. It is that easy. Thanks for the comment Xx0xc4rlyx0xX.

Highlight the video while it is on the timeline and hit CTRL M. This will split the audio from the video and they can be edited separately. Thanks for the comment Kirfir.

Movie edit pro can accept audio files such as MP3, and WMA. These are very common files and if you have them on your computer and they belong to you, ie... not copyrighted, they should work fine.

I've confronted an issue with Movie Edit Pro 12. Every time i import an MPEG file, i have to recreate the frame tables in order to get sound, but the worst is that once exported or burn onto a disc, the sound is gone again. So my problem is again, once exported or burned. I've contacted tech support varies times, but they are useless. Do you have a solution to this problem??

I had the exact same problem with video clips from my cannon camera. I called tech support and they gave me a new dll file for MEP and my sound works fine now. I would give tech support another try. They have fixed my problems every time I have called.

Is the interface better/easier in 12? I read CNET gave MEP11 only a fair review because of un-intuitive interface. I'm going to try to install 11 on Vista today, otherwise I'll get 12 ($49)....

They are almost identical with the exception of some new transition effects and some other little gadgets like magnetic objects. If you cannot get V11 to install, Magix has a tech support number on their website that may be able to help.

Music for the most part cannot be downloaded without buying it. There are many websites that offer music online. Google the song name that you are looking for and I'll bet you will have a bunch of sites to choose from.

I was using version 11 until I bought my new computer that had windows vista installed on it. V11 and Vista doesnt work well together, thats why I have V12 now. I use a sony digital camcorder with a 60 gig hard drive in it. Works great with my computer and making youtube videos. Thanks for the comment SenoreQueso.
