  • Thats one fine lookin mower you've got there, i tell you whaat

Hank Hill is my Hero <3

  • That clear plastic tube and the duct tape cannot take the pressure of the propane. On a 100 degree day, you are dealing with about 260 PSI... just letting you know. You are going to need much better pressure/vapor handling.

  • YA, use tape.

  • this guy is going to win a darwin award one day.

  • I love the all american safety tape :-)

  • neat. next time why not try a wood gasifier?

  • wonderfully simple. great post, thanks

  • Cool, I wonder how many yards per gallon?

  • This could also be used with biogas (75% methane) as well, correct?

  • nice i hope the tape stops the propane leaks

  • aka the redneck engine! LOL nice mower

  • wow as jerry rigged that fucker is ... its more of a death trap waiting to happen.... you need to control the airflow during conversions too cause other wise it will putt putt out..

  • i did the same thing, but remove the carb from the fuel tank and mount it back on the engine, use the petrol pickup line as your propane injector, and to talktoyourself, and eric19611, stick to your personal life, you have no idea what you are saying and, even if you do, you wouldn't be the brightest bulb in the chandelier,

  • turn the tank upside down, you'll get way more fuel into the engine. i promise, and definitely make a vid

  • get a book (if you can by an person by the name of "Liston" it would be a great book if you are into engines. keep up the good work, use your knowledge for your gain. You are doing great. keep it up.

  • An person? Where the hell did you go to school?

  • I hope he has good homeowners insurance

  • very interesting

  • my profile isnt working

  • lol i love how its held together with duck tape.

  • That camp stove is 5,000 BTUs.

    Not enough.

  • The coleman stove is 10,000 BTUs generic stoves are usually 5,000 BTUs

  • I have a 1993 Plymouth Sundance Duster (v6) that I can get to idle on just propane. I've yet to build a regulator for it, but it does idle a lot smoother and the exhaust is cleaner as well.

If anyone knows how I can make a regulator that can be used on my car, I'd be interested in hearing about it.

  • They use that same engine in big propane forklifts made by Caterpillar, I bet you could order a regulator from CAT and it would work on that engine perfectly

  • OK, I'm stupid ... how can you be sure that the air/propane mix is right?

  • the video says that it isn't. But on better built ones like mine, the engine only runs good when you've got a proper mix. There is little room for error when fueling from a gas instead of a liquid. Basically it will barely run or not run at all if you don't have it right. And you don't have to insult yourself because you don't know something. It's good to ask questions. Nobody knows everything. :)

  • All very clever BUT petrol is cheaper than propane canisters so there appears very little advantage in doing it

  • {Reply attempt Number 2}

Propane is cheaper than petrol in the United States.

  • and propane burns cleaner than petrol, extend engine life as well oil life between oil changes

  • FYI, Propane IS petroleum hence LPG (Liquid PETROLEUM Gas) and they make things to refill them from a regular size tank and it's pretty cheap that way so.... depending on how far it runs on a 14 or 16 ounce bottle it may be cheaper. I am experimenting with my propane mower now.

  • I had a B&S engine runing on Propane/butane mix. ( See the vid. ) The gas bottle contains 660 gram ( 330ML ) og gas. i used my B&S 10 min each day and the bottle lasted 2 weeks, insted og regula gasolie there lasted 5 - 6 days, and the gas bottle cost me 20 kr ( 4.15 US $ )

  • Buy the cheapest propane torch you can find at ACE hardware (nothing fancy with auto start, just a simple on/off type needle valve) and unscrew the tip. Drill the little orifice out to 1/16" and attach your hose.

  • umm actually i got mine running on propane, hooked mine up on the single fuel line carb, what you see in my video is the temporary line inside the air intake, i will get the new video as soon as i get it all completed
