When Peter Gabriel left Genesis, the band spent a while looking for a new lead singer. They finally realized they'd had him all along in their drummer; hence, "Genesis, The Phil Collins Years" began. IMO they were the more successful ones. Phil's voice sounds ethereal here.

they never really got over it in my opinion the direction changed and fair enough they progressed just not how the die hards wanted but at least they evolved
