No, the travel of the AP plunger is not the same as the travel of the throttle cam. The AP plunger will bottom out before you are full throttle. There has to be some stretch in the oring. The best bet is to spend a few bucks on a Merge Racing APS spring. That's what I use on all of my modded FCR's now. Way better than breaking orings.
If you use only one o-ring the actuator arm will seperate from the cam (o-ring stretches)and the initial squirt volume will be less. O-rings will eventually break.... especially if they are stretched out a lot. Using two helps in both of these issues. The best thing to do is to replace the stock spring with Merge Racing's APS Spring. Much better and consistant control with no worries of o-ring breakage. :-)
would you recommend using .0mm tie wire to do it? i got the o rings in my JD kit, but dont want to do it more than once if it breaks

Hi. Why do you need two rings to do this? Wouldn't just the one over the cam do the job?

Good thinking. I replaced the detent spring on mine (which took a lot longer than your job!).
