This is a chord - this is another - this is a third, NOW form a band originally appeared in Sideburns magazine the forerunner to Strangled magazine by the Stranglers.
Something like Genesis or Yes ? Well, I started listening to music in 79, when Sid Vicious died. Before Punk, there were imo only Roxy Music, Kraftwerk and maybe Bowie.
But there is the possibility that you're right, because I'm at a disadvantage - I don't really know how those letters with that thing above them ( like ü ) are pronounced !
can I help? "ü" is just a mix of your "u" and "ee"...put both together and you get an "ü"...imagine you want to say an "u" and try to whistle at the same time ;)
I have the Spiral Scratch ep. Amazing!! Isn't this a classic punk rock tune??? This was a brilliant piss take on such arrogant, boring bands like ELP, Floyd, etc. I am so glad "punk" rock came about....thanks Roddy
If you've got one of the early editions of it they're meant to be worth a fortune now !
No record company would even look at them in 1976, so they did the whole EP themselves for £500 they managed to gather together. And the rest is history, as they say. The start of punk's Do-It- Yourself ethos.
And yes, Pete Shelley's "guitar solo" is just hilarious.
Great, that's like having a rare valuable antique ! If it's in good (or even reasonable) condition, it could be worth a bit now, and sought after by collectors. But then you're probably like me, I've got a couple of rarities that are probably worth a bit, but I wouldn't sell them, unless I was just flat broke or something.
I downloaded it from Amazon (£0.79 !). I was actually trying to download the original version from the "Spiral Scratch" EP with Howard Devoto singing before Pete Shelley took over. But something went wrong somewhere...as it inevitably does when I mess with this technology.
But it's a great version all the same. Unless it IS the "Spiral Scratch" version that's been remastered or something ?!
Did you manage to listen to the whole song? It's the ridiculous two-tone guitar solo (and in 1976 guitar solos were THE big thing) just over half way through and then at the end. At the time this was just such an obvious piss-take that Lake went demented. Allegedly.
I actually love the song - BOREDOM,BOREDOM...BOOORRRDOMMM.........................
Wow! the quality is great :D thanks!

Well, I say what I mean...
I say what comes to my mind...
I never get around to things......but...who the fuck is ELP ?

A horrendous Progressive Rock band of the time, 1976, full name "Emerson, Lake and Palmer".
Famous for their solos, but this song soon ruined that for them ahahaha !!

I have a real early edition of the e.p. The drummer of the Buzzcocks is truly amazing. I love it.
