This scene, it kills me every time, even though I'm pretty sure we weren't supposed to take the episode all that seriously and that it was going for outright Narm Charm from the very beginning (look at the movie that inspired it...) Heck, the whole fandom THRIVES on Narm Charm. Nobody does over the top quite like Doctor Who... I guess that's why I like it.

Honestly, when this happened in the episode I laughed really hard because it's utterly and completely ridiculous. The icing on the cake? The angels' superman fists. Seriously?

Yeah that was my reaction too, even though I really enjoyed the episode I couldn't stop sniggering at this. I mean I think this particular episode was doing all that on PURPOSE because the whole thing was just so rediculously camp (and what with all the resembellances it had to another rather dramatic movie featuring "the same" ship, I probably should have expected a little "WTF?")
