  • WE NEED THIS GUY!!!

    -New York

  • It would be funny if he became president and turned out to be Darth Sidious. LOL

  • there's at least one politician with integrity.

  • i loooove stossel's questioning style - he's the man.

  • Ron Paul for President!!The real American Patriot!!!2012

  • "How can old become be taken care of without medicare ?"

Well maybe they shouldn't be taken care of if they can't afford it. Yeah, life's "unfair".

  • @MrKiromunist

He didn't say that Mr. Kommunist.

  • Ron Paul and John Stossel in the same room? that's just too much awesome... I'm surprised the universe didn't explode.

  • @DavidUmstattd

No, they will restore BALANCE to the Force.

I'M surprised it didn't explode when Obama and Hillary were in the same executive branch of federal government.

  • Now this is change I can believe in.

  • That's actually true. Before gov't involvment, people actually took care of poor people.

In the 80'sReagan was saying "pick yourself up by the bootstraps" meaning you are notyour brother's keeper. Sort of that Lone Ranger ethic. Not caring/working about others

  • In a dumbed down country that we call US. - with all of it's decadence and corruption and ignorance - and John Stossel - It is a pleasure and a joy, to behold one of the finest Statesman this country has , in Ron Paul ! ! ! ! !

  • Your Comment was Brilliant.......... I love Ron Paul......... He is the only authentic Statesmen we have in this country.

  • @rolynstone48 Not sure what you find in Stossel that you don't like. He is a most conservative person as is Paul. Here he is just asking questions that will, hopefully, get an honest and uncensored answer. He is just playing "devil's advocate" in this interview. Watch his show on Fox Business Network and I think you will change your opinon of him.

  • Are you even listening to the same clip? Do you understand how subsidies work? Ron Paul says government should be run as the constitution declared it should. The people who wrote it were well-educated and knew their history. Perhaps you need a history lesson yourself (?) Government should be local. The Federal Government exists for very specific functions. Why don't you read the Constitution of the United States of America, and also read "The Creature from Jeckyl Island"

  • Leading people to the rabbit hole and allowing them to get in. lol

  • Just one "insurance company"?

  • The reason the large companies F us over now is because they pay politicians to keep their interest in mind when writing and voting on legislation. What's wrong with freedom - something that hasn't been around for a hundred years, What's wrong with the constitution - you obviously have a problem with it. The American revolution was to achieve monetary freedom - something we do not have and the payed off politicians want to keep it that way, but Ron Paul is striving to change that.

  • You obviously don't understand Ron Paul's policy very well. The reason why companies are able to fuck with the people is because they are under the protection of government via lobbyist. Without these government interventions, the people (ie the consumer) would have the power over these companies via supply & demand. Look at the history of these 'rules', most of them changed because these companies can spend millions on lobbyists to have them changed to their favor.

  • Ok think about it, if what you say is true then most companies would rush to fund his campaign and get him elected, but what happened?? The opposite happended, he took corporate money, here are some numbers.

  • Goldman Sacs at $375,978. JP Morgan Chase was second with $216,459 while Citigroup $181,787 & Morgan Stanley

$109,025 Time Warner:$131,485, GE:$47,450, Microsoft at $44,250, Others Boeing, Walt Disney, Vivendi, UPS, Lockheed Martin, General Motors & American Airlines. Also Pfizer, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Eli Lilly & Co. & GlaxoSmithKline $23,350. & apparently Big Oil didn't want 2 b left out in the cold Chevron, BP and Exxon Mobil $27,059 to the non-corporation funded Obama campaign.

  • True..I know...if you see my channel..I have several Rand Paul clips. I don't know the SC guy much but did see an interview the other day where it says his state is one of the only ones that is not in trouble. ADMIRABLE and definitely worth looking more into it. Thanks!

  • no problem. the more i listen to ron paul, the more i hope he is insane, because hes right on target. my biggest fear is obama is going to bankrupt this country, depression is going to look like tip of iceberg compare to the disaster ahead. i do believe in the american free market, but im very scared about the possibility of collapsing of our dollar

  • I love this man.

  • ron paul should be president right now. our country so messed up with obama!

  • would be nice

  • @guidav123

I really don't think he'd make much difference. The president can't repeal bad laws, and Ron Paul wouldn't pardon people who use illegal drugs or don't pay income-taxes or violate other bad laws.

  • Everybody should watch John Stossel's Sick in America because he expands Ron Paul's idea of doctor's not charging too much by going so far as to get government and insurance companies (two bloated bureaucracies) out of your health care decisions and give you the power to say yes and no to treatments, etc.

  • I agree...I watched that and it is a GREAT documentary

  • When he said his colleagues say "i wish i could get away with what you do"......I get the feeling they meant they could cut their puppet strings and be free from special interests and their masters/funders. Haha

    I love Ron Paul!

  • job...exactly!

  • my state government has decided it needs to put flouride in our water when, A. there is no real scientific evidence flouride helps tooth decay. B. my teeth and everyone i know is fine without government interference. and all the sheeple are like "its about time they did it" lets all drink toxic chemical waste because the government said its good for you, and we all know your individual well being is all that motivates politicians.....NOT!!

  • if only more people in Washington had the thinking of this man, just think of how well off we would be, the only reason he was pretty much under the radar is because he blows the whistle on the government (which I think is a really good thing) and of course the government doesn't like that so therefor he didn't get the nomination

  • cummin...exactly.

But watch out for 2012....people are talking about Dr Paul like never before.

I know in my area (san diego) we meet at least 2-3 times a week to find ways to help spread his message

  • yeah, I think we chose possibly the worst president ever, more programs and he promotes more taxes to fund his stupid rebuilding of the roads program; another say much do little president, that ends up screwing us up I don't call that "change"

  • great job man, but his son is running for senate in Kentucky! i also think there are a couple libertarian republican right now, i think the one in south carolin, hes not exactly like Ron Paul, but hes much closer to Ron Paul's ideology rather than Mccain and Obama

  • wow, if the media hadn't censored ron paul, he would've been the best president ever.

  • The censor the critics of teachers unions all the time that's why young people have no rights at all.

  • @fitypacent media sensored ron paul??? i kinda noticed that too but it didnt actually ask why. is this true?

  • @ag8416

Yes it's true. The media are quite aware of his policies and how much sense he makes, but instead of promoting Ron Paul and his policies, the media is being payed to censor people like Ron Paul and smear them any chance they can get. The media wants to keep people trapped in a limited point of view. That's why you got your Bush loving FOX News, and then your Obama loving MSNBC. The media just wants to keep people thinking Republican vs. Democrat, that way no one ever discovers [...]

  • @ag8416

[...] that there are a ton more possibilities than that. This is the main reason why Ron Paul is not well known. People need to turn off their TV's and stop watching what's being fed to them through a screen and do some real research and get informed. This is the only way anything is gonna change. The media thrives on keeping people misinformed because that's how they get their paychecks. If Ron Paul wins, it would be the greatest thing to happen to this country in a long, long time.

  • @jman202011 so ron paul's answer to healthcare is to let the church take care of the people that can not afford it? I dont think that's gonna fly

  • @ag8416

Well, no. It's not exactly that black and white, but I don't see why you think that's a bad thing. Churches DID take care of medical care before the 60's. Not only churches, but volunteer hospitals. No one was ever denied care, and they were also payed the least. Reason being is that is wasn't run by the government, so no special interests on quality, costs or access. A lot of the money now is going to special interests like big corporations and they're sort of a middleman. [...]

  • @ag8416

Doctors become unhappy and then you see a shortage of them not just because of that but mandates by the government, saying they can only take care of certain people. It's not giving Healthcare competition, therefore costs go up because of government intervention. And insurance... insurance used to be for catastrophic things only, such as cancer, a bad accident, that sort of thing. Now you have everything pre-paid such as drugs. When a third party pays the bills, they [...]

  • @ag8416

[...] charge the most, because they can. It's invites abuse because now since it's government run, there's no competition, so now the insurance companies can run wild with their premiums and what-not. Ron Paul is also Dr. Ron Paul. He's practiced medicine for 30 years. I would listen to him.

  • @fitypacent

That's the beauty of the internet-- NO FUCKING GATEKEEPERS.

  • Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have...

The course of history shows that as a government grows, Liberty decreases. Thomas Jefferson

  • "this country is bankrupt"

why do i get the feeling that only Ron Paul REALIZES and ACKNOWLEDGES this naked truth. he is the only presidential candidate (with the exception of Mike Gravel) who has the guts to share this with the American public.

Go Ron Paul! i will donate come Janurary 28th.

  • Ron Paul Rules!!!!!

  • We love Ron Paul and he has the only real message among groups of CFR cronies on both sides. Fuck the FED and fuck globalization. Ron Paul for everyone, Dr. Ron Paul for President.

  • Stossel is a libertarian .... He was playing devil's advocate. Plus he sounded sarcastic when he said it.

  • fucking gross! and right... and gross... but mostly right

  • It's too bad that our country is rampant with politically apathy. The average American cares more about music, tv shows, movies, sports, sex, religion, drugs...

    We're killing ourselves slowly.

  • I watch this with teary eyes, because this lone man actually believes and follows the highest ideals of the American nation. Freedom, Charity, Compassion, Self Reliance. What a great LEADER RON PAUL WILL BE! As Ronald Reagan said "America's best days are ahead of us..." WE CAN DO IT! Ron Paul president 2008...SAVE AMERICA

  • sounds good.

  • You know they can throw us in jail forever with no trial don't you?

  • Have faith in yourself..not the system

  • The manner by which the generations alive today treat Ron Paul will be a reflection of the state of our nation. If he is elected I have hope for our future, but if he is not then it will be yet another event to mark the beginning of the end.

  • This man is the best hope for America on the stage, that I am most certain of!

  • the shriners he speaks of are fantastic. my dad is a mason, which is what is founded by, so thats how he found out about one in philly for when my little brother was born with a serious birth defect. he had Poland Syndrome. it really was a blessing.

  • Americans are just too weak for freedom. They want a safety net. The are scared little pathetic losers who can't take care of themselves and everybody who can has to pay for it. Just what the founders envisioned!!

  • uh, what?!

  • I would argue that Americans are more ready for freedom than any other people on earth. We are and have been among the most free, low tax countries in the world since 1776.

  • Some of us are, you are right. I was talking about the socialists that have taken over this country. And about taxes, we have hidden taxes that take about 50% of our income. And when i find a better country, i will try to move there.

  • Please elect Ron Paul for President

  • I'm going to try!

  • Stossel does a great job! He's almost funny with a sarcastic bent.

  • "if America was smarter Ron Paul would be president" J. Mayher

  • It's really nice to see an interview where the host will actually let Ron Paul talk and EXPLAIN his views. Unlike O' Reilly and Beck and others who will cut him off mid sentence (if he gets that far) trying to make Paul sound stupid. Trying to shape the way they want the audience to perceive him. And I admire Paul for never lashing out with ANY negativity.

How can you vote against this man?

  • well we're going to see them for a whole hour on tuesday -I CANT WAIT! yes cutting off is just plain rude, i'm interested to see how Teflon Ron will deal with this interview ( I think he'll do great)

  • o'reilly and beck are not journalist, the loud mouths only care about ratings, they are more like actors than journalist.

  • typo error below COUNTRIES YOU DONT BELONG IN - STOP POLICING THE WORLD! He's Honest!! all other candidates are phonies Hillary is a Bilderberger. Cool black Obama, is he gonna bring the troops home immediately? Rudy, well he's just a satanist hahahaha

  • Ron Paul is an amazing man and has a history to back up his views. I hate the way George Bush lied back in 2000 when he first ran for president. Ron Paul has 30 years of doing what he says and that in my book is a honest man. I support Ron Paul and will be digging real deep in my pocket on Dec. 16.

  • New Zealander cheering for Ron Paul WOOHOOOHOOOO!!!!

  • It interests me very much to hear about people in other countries showing support for Ron Paul, particularly when he expresses views like those in this interview. My father, who voted for Bill Clinton, thinks America is conservative to the point of stupidity and backwards or regressive because we are the only industrialized country in the world without socialized medicine. How can Ron Paul's radical free-market libertarian views garner so much respect overseas?

  • For one he's gonna stop the war in iraq! You have medicare and apparently it stinks. He's gonna Get American troops out of countries you belong in. HE IS LEADING THE FIGHT AGAINST GLOBALISATION, THE WORLDS FUTURE WILL BE MASSIVELY AFFECTED IF HE GETS IN (FOR THE BETTER) PS Bill Clinton is incredibly corrupt - a member of the Bilderberg group

  • I see the war is a big issue, but do you realize that he's also a radical supporter of laissez-faire policies? Shrinkage of government management and services, turning everything over to the free market and civil society and allowing people to own any kinds of guns that they want without registration or background checks? I'm wildly enthusiastic about all of this but I thought that was anathema to most of the rest of the world.

  • yes i hear him talk about free markets. I was very left leaning because I saw corrupt corporations dominating the world as capitalism. But this is capitalism in a rigged game. Ron Paul is not corrupt and uncorrupted capitalism may actually work

  • Non corrupt capitalism made USA what it is up until shortly after WW2 when the Military Industrial Complex took over (enter: Vietnam/Korea). Capitalism itself would've been enough to end slavery here. Just look at the "Roaring 20's" as an example of the effect it can have without heavy government control.

  • I'm encoraged to hear you say so. I'm very libertarian myself, which is how I originally came to know of Ron Paul. I learned of him through libertarian websites, so I go along with a lot of their Austrian free market ideas. I think one question that remains is the role of the corporation. Self-employed individuals or family businesses seem to be good roots for liberty.

  • Because his free market views came from overseas: Austria.

  • Because people overseas pay 50 - 70% income tax with a VAT tax, and have no choice.

We are losing what makes America great- the ability to go do what you want, to be what you want, and say what you want and no one to tell you otherwise as long as you aren't hurting anyone.

  • If they aired these on 20/20 he'd have triple the support he has now. We need to petition they air these.

  • There was a mention on CNN a couple days ago that didn't even list him in the running. It showed Fred & McCain and RP is kicking the shit out of them.

  • In New Hampshire I mean

  • Don't get me wrong, I'm all for Ron Paul, I'm just saying, the MSM is trying to portray him in a very negative light to the uninformed public saying he's only 2%, when we all know that he has more real supporters than anyone else.

  • He is the most Googled since he is suppressed by the major networks. That's why they use search engines to learn about him.

  • The jewish network execs who are trying to suppress this interview should grab rifles and fight their own wars for Israel and end their media sham.

  • ABC should air these great interviews, let them know how you feel this political sham, America deserves to hear Paul

  • Great interview, Thanks for posting!
