  • @Collinfan94 Same with me. When we would take long trips to see my grandparents this is kind of music we would listen to. Along with Charlie Rich, Charlie Pride.

  • One of the BEST EVER!!!! My family and I were lucky to live very close to him in the '80's. Without a doubt, he was the sweetest, kindness, down-to-earth men I've had to pleasure of knowing. My son (about 10 at that tme) was completely taken back by his wonderful imitation of "Daffy Duck"!! Wonder how many people heard that. He wa so sweet to talk to our sonin the "duck" tone about every time he saw him. My son is now 37, but still remembers and loves him as we all do!!!!

  • All the dislikes should have grown up with just radio. All you knew was the talent. I never knew Charlie Pride was black until I was 17 but I loved his music. After I first saw him, I stll loved his music. Listen with your eyes closed and your mind open.

  • I knew a first-nations dude, from the six-nations reserve, half native, half white. He sang GJ songs rather well. I was in a cell for the nigh for scrapping in some bar in Hamilton Ontario, When I heard this drunken native sing this song. I knew it was him. He sold native art for a living, but drank a lot after his women left him. He died soon after, but boy, could he sing, and was a talented artist.
